Chapter 69, 52 verses
আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু; অবধারিত ঘটনা।
বিসমিল্লাহির রাহমা-নির রাহি-ম আল্হা-কক্বতু
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The Inevitable (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)!
কী সেই অবধারিত ঘটনা?
মাল্হা-কক্বহ্।
What is the Inevitable?
আর কী তোমাকে জানাবে, কী সেই অবধারিত ঘটনা?
অমা য় আদ্র-কা মাল্হা-কক্বহ্।
And what will make you know what the Inevitable is?
সামূদ ও ‘আদ অবধারিত মহাপ্রলয়কে অস্বীকার করেছিল।
কায্যাবাত্ ছামূদু অ'আ-দুম্ বিল্ ক্ব-রি'আহ্।
Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah (the striking Hour of Judgement)!
অতঃপর সামূদকে ধ্বংস করা হয়েছিল এক প্রচণ্ড শব্দে।
ফাআম্মা- ছামূদু ফাউহ্লিকূ বিতত্বোয়া-গিয়াহ্।
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry!
আর ‘আদকে ধ্বংস করা হয়েছিল এক প্রচণ্ড, হিংস্র ঝড়ো হাওয়ায়,
অআম্মা-'আদুন্ ফাউহ্লিকূ বিরীহিন্ ছোর্য়া ছোয়ারিন্ 'আতিয়াহ।
And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind!
যা তিনি তাদের ওপর অবিরাম প্রবাহিত করেছিলেন সাত রাত ও আট দিন ধরে। তখন তুমি সেই সম্প্রদায়কে সেখানে লুটিয়ে পড়ে থাকতে দেখতে, যেন তারা ফাঁপা খেজুরগাছের কাণ্ড।
সাখ্খরহা-'আলাইহিম্ সাব্'আ লাইয়া-লিঁও অছামানিয়াতা আইয়্যা-মিন্ হুসূমান্ ফাতারল্ ক্বওমা ফীহা-ছোর্য়া'আ কায়ান্নাহুম্ আ'জ্বা-যু নাখ্লিন্ খা-ওয়িয়াহ্।
Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms!
অতঃপর তুমি কি তাদের কোনো অবশিষ্ট দেখতে পাও?
ফাহাল্ তারা-লাহুম্ মিম্ বা-ক্বিয়াহ্।
Do you see any remnants of them?
আর ফিরআউন, তার পূর্ববর্তীরা এবং উল্টে দেওয়া জনপদসমূহ পাপ নিয়ে এসেছিল।
অজ্বা-য়া র্ফি'আঊনু অমান্ ক্বব্লাহূ অল্ মু''তাফিকা-তু বিল্খ-ত্বিয়াহ্।
ফাআম্মা-মান্ ঊতিয়া কিতা-বাহূ বিইয়ামীনিহী ফাইয়াকুলু হা-য়ুমুকরায়ূ কিতা-বিইয়াহ্।
And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lut (Lot)] committed sin.
অতঃপর তারা তাদের প্রতিপালকের রসূলকে অমান্য করেছিল; ফলে তিনি তাদেরকে কঠোরভাবে পাকড়াও করেছিলেন।
ফা'আছোয়াও রাসূলা রব্বিহিম্ ফাআখযাহুম্ আখ্যার্তা রা-বিয়াহ্।
And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He seized them with a strong punishment.
নিশ্চয়ই যখন পানি সীমা অতিক্রম করেছিল, তখন আমরা তোমাদেরকে বহন করেছিলাম ভাসমান নৌযানে,
ইন্না-লাম্মা ত্বোয়াগাল্ মা-য়ু হামাল্নাকুম্ ফিল্ জ্বা-রিয়াহ।
Verily, when the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]
যাতে আমরা এটিকে তোমাদের জন্য একটি স্মারক করি, এবং মনোযোগী কান তা ধারণ করে।
লিনাজ'আলাহা-লাকুম্ তায্কিরতাঁও অ তা'ইইয়াহা য় উযুনুঁও ওয়া 'ইয়াহ্।
That We might make it (Noah's ship) an admonition for you and that it might be retained by the retaining ears.
অতঃপর যখন শিঙ্গায় একবার ফুঁ দেওয়া হবে,
ফাইযা-নুফিখ ফিছ্ ছূরি নাফ্খতুঁও ওয়া-হিদাহ।
Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one).
এবং পৃথিবী ও পর্বতমালা উত্তোলিত হবে, তারপর এক আঘাতে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ হয়ে যাবে,
অহুম্মিলাতিল্ র্আদু অল্ জ্বিবা-লু ফাদুক্কাতা- দাক্কাতাঁও ওয়া-হিদাও।
And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing.
সেদিন সেই অবধারিত মহাপ্রলয় সংঘটিত হবে
ফাইয়াওমায়িযিওঁ অক্বা'আতিল্ ওয়া-ক্বি'আতু ।
Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall.
এবং আকাশ বিদীর্ণ হবে; সেদিন তা হবে দুর্বল।
অন্শাকক্বাতিস্ সামা-য়ু ফাহিয়া ইয়াওমায়িযিঁও ওয়া-হিইয়াতুঁও।
And the heaven will be rent asunder, for that Day it (the heaven) will be frail and torn up.
আর ফেরেশতারা তার প্রান্তসমূহে থাকবে, এবং সেদিন তোমার প্রতিপালকের আরশ তাদের ঊর্ধ্বে আটজন বহন করবে।
অল্মালাকু 'আলা য় র্আজ্বা-য়িহা অইয়াহ্মিলু 'র্আশা রব্বিকা ফাওক্বাহুম্ ইয়াওমায়িযিন্ ছামা-নিইয়াহ্।
And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them.
সেদিন তোমাদেরকে উপস্থিত করা হবে; তোমাদের কোনো গোপন বিষয়ই গোপন থাকবে না।
ইয়াওমায়িযিন্ তু'রদুনা লা-তাখ্ফা-মিন্কুম্ খ-ফিইয়াহ্।
That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden.
অতঃপর যার আমলনামা তার ডান হাতে দেওয়া হবে, সে বলবে, “এই নিন! আমার আমলনামা পড়ুন।
Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Here! read my Record!
নিশ্চয়ই আমি বিশ্বাস করেছিলাম যে আমি আমার হিসাবের সম্মুখীন হবো।”
ইন্নী জোয়ানান্তু আন্নী মুলা-ক্বিন্ হিসা-বিইয়াহ্
"Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!"
অতঃপর সে থাকবে এক সন্তোষজনক জীবনে,
ফাহুওয়া ফী 'ঈশার্তি র-দ্বিইয়াহ্।
So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing.
উঁচু বেহেশতে,
ফী জ্বান্নাতিন্ 'আ-লিয়াহ্।
In a lofty Paradise,
যার ফলগুলো কাছে ঝুলে থাকবে।
কুতুফুহা-দা-নিইয়াহ্।
The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand.
“তোমরা খাও এবং পান করো তৃপ্তিসহকারে, অতীত দিনগুলোতে যা তোমরা আগে পাঠিয়েছ তার কারণে।”
কুলূ অশ্রাবূ হানী-য়াম্ বিমা য় আস্লাফ্তুম্ ফিল্ আইয়্যা-মিল্ খ-লিইয়াহ্।
Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past!
আর যার আমলনামা তার বাম হাতে দেওয়া হবে, সে বলবে, “হায়! যদি আমাকে আমার আমলনামা দেওয়া না হতো,
অ আম্মা-মান্ ঊতিইয়া কিতা-বাহূ বিশিমা-লিহী ফাইয়াকুলু ইয়া-লাইতানী লাম্ ঊতা কিতা-বিইয়াহ্।
But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record!
এবং আমি যদি না জানতাম আমার হিসাব!,
অলাম্ আদ্রি মা-হিসা-বিইয়াহ্।
"And that I had never known how my Account is!
হায়! যদি সেটাই চূড়ান্ত সমাপ্তি হতো!
এখানে "চূড়ান্ত সমাপ্তি" বলতে সম্ভবত মৃত্যুকে বুঝানো হয়েছে
ইয়া-লাইতাহা- কা-নাতিল্ ক্ব-দ্বিয়াহ্।
"Would that it had been my end (death)!
আমার সম্পদ আমার কোনো উপকারে আসেনি।
মা য় আগ্না 'আন্নী মা-লিইয়াহ্।
"My wealth has not availed me;
আমার কর্তৃত্ব বিলুপ্ত হয়েছে।”
হালাকা 'আন্নী সুল্ত্বোয়-নিইয়াহ্।
"My power (and arguments to defend myself) have gone from me!"
“তাকে ধরো, অতঃপর তার গলায় শৃঙ্খল পরিয়ে দাও।”
খুযূহু ফাগুল্লু হু।
(It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him;
তারপর তাকে জাহিমে পোড়াও।
জাহিম: কুরআনে ব্যবহৃত জাহান্নামের একটি নাম, যা বিশেষভাবে প্রজ্বলিত ও তীব্র জ্বলন্ত আগুনের ধারণা প্রকাশ করে। কুরআনে জাহান্নামের জন্য বিভিন্ন নাম ও বর্ণনা ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে:
ছুম্মাল্ জ্বাহীমা ছোয়াল্লূহু।
Then throw him in the blazing Fire.
তারপর তাকে সত্তর হাত দীর্ঘ এক শৃঙ্খলে আবদ্ধ করো
ছুম্মা ফী সিল্সিলাতিন্ র্যা'উহা সাব্'ঊনা যিরা-'আন্ ফাস্লুকূহ্।
"Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!"
নিশ্চয়ই সে মহান আল্লাহর প্রতি ছিল না।
ইন্নাহূ কা-না লা-ইয়ুমিনু বিল্লা-হিল্ 'আজীম।
Verily, he used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great,
এবং দরিদ্রকে আহার করাতে উৎসাহ দিত না।
অলা-ইয়াহুদ্ব্দ্ব 'আলা ত্বোয়া'আ- মিল্ মিস্কীন্।
And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor).
অতএব আজ এখানে তার কোনো অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধু নেই,
ফালাইসা লাহুল্ ইয়াওমা হা-হুনা-হামীমুঁও।
So no friend has he here this Day,
এবং পুঁজ ছাড়া তার কোনো খাদ্য নেই,
অলা-ত্বোয়া'আ-মুন্ ইল্লা-মিন্ গিস্লীন্।
Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds.
যা পাপাচারীরা ছাড়া আর কেউ খাবে না।
লা-ইয়াকুলুহূ য় ইল্লাল্ খ-ত্বিয়ূন্।
None will eat it except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists).
অতএব আমি শপথ করছি যা তোমরা দেখো,
ফালা য় উক্ব্সিমু বিমা-তুব্ছিরূন্।
So I swear by whatsoever you see,
এবং যা তোমরা দেখো না,
অমা- লা-তুব্ছিরূন।
And by whatsoever you see not,
নিশ্চয়ই এটি সম্মানিত রাসূলের কথা।
ইন্নাহূ লাক্বওলু রাসূলিন্ কারীম।
That this is verily, the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibril (Gabriel) or Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم which he has brought from Allah].
এবং এটি কোনো কবির কথা নয়; তোমরা খুব কমই বিশ্বাস কর।
অমা-হুওয়া বিক্বওলি শা-ইর্' ক্বলীলাম্ মা-তু”মিনূন্।
It is not the word of a poet: little is that you believe!
এবং এটি কোনো গণকের কথা নয়; তোমরা খুব কমই উপদেশ গ্রহণ কর।
অলা-বিক্বওলি কা-হিন্ ক্বলীলাম্ মা-তাযাক্কারূন্।
Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller): little is that you remember!
এটি বিশ্বজগতের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ।
তান্যীলূম্ র্মি রব্বিল্ 'আ-লামীন্ ।
This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
আর যদি সে আমাদের নামে কোনো কথা রচনা করে আমাদের প্রতি আরোপ করত,
অলাও তাক্বওয়্যালা 'আলাইনা-বা'দ্বোয়াল্ আক্ব-ওয়ীল্।
And if he (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allah جل جلاله),
তবে অবশ্যই আমরা তার ডান হাত ধরে ফেলতাম,
লাআখায্না-মিন্হু বিল্ইয়ামীন।
We surely would have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might),
তারপর অবশ্যই তার মহাধমনী কেটে দিতাম।
ছুম্মা লাক্বত্বোয়া'না- মিন্হুল্ অতীন্।
And then We certainly would have cut off his life artery (aorta),
অতঃপর তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউই তাকে রক্ষা করতে পারত না।
ফামা-মিন্কুম্ মিন্ আহাদিন্ 'আন্হু হা-জ্বিযীন্।
And none of you could have withheld Us from (punishing) him.
আর নিশ্চয়ই এটি মুত্তাকীদের জন্য এক উপদেশ।
অইন্নাহূ লাতায্কিরতুল্ লিল্মুত্তাক্বীন্।
And verily, this (Qur'an) is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (the pious. See V.2:2).
আর নিশ্চয়ই আমরা জানি যে তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ অস্বীকারকারী।
অইন্না-লানা'লামু আন্না মিন্কুম্ মুকায্যাবীন্।
And verily, We know that there are some among you that belie (this Qur'an). (Tafsir At-Tabari)
আর নিশ্চয়ই এটি অস্বীকারকারীদের জন্য অনুশোচনা।
অইন্নাহূ লাহাসরতুন্ 'আলাল্ কা-ফিরীন্।
And indeed it (this Qur'an) will be an anguish for the disbelievers (on the Day of Resurrection).
আর নিশ্চয়ই এটি নিশ্চিত সত্য।
অইন্নাহূ লাহাককুল্ ইয়াক্বীন্।
And verily, it (this Qur'an) is an absolute truth with certainty.
অতএব তুমি তোমার মহান প্রতিপালকের নামে পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করো।
ফাসাব্বিহ্ বিস্মি রব্বিকাল্ আ'জীম্।
So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
