About this chapter
এই সূরাতে মক্কা বিজয়ের পর বিধর্মীরা যে দলে দলে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করছিলো, তা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। ইসলামের এই বিজয়ের ফলে রাসূলুল্লাহ্ (সা)-এর দুনিয়ায় আগমন সফল হলো। তাই বিশিষ্ট সাহাবীগণ এই সূরা নাযিল হওয়ার পর রাসূলুল্লাহ্ (সা)-এর ওফাত বা বিদায় নিকটবর্তী বুঝতে পেরেছিলেন।
এই সূরা মক্কায় বিদায় হজ্জের সময় অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিল, কিন্তু নবীজির মদিনা হিজরতের পরে এটি অবতীর্ন বিধায় অনেকে এটিকে মাদানী সূরা বলে থাকেন।

আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময়, পরম দয়ালু; যখন আসবে আল্লাহর সাহায্য এবং বিজয়,

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. When there comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah).

এবং তুমি দলে দলে মানুষদের আল্লাহর ধর্মে প্রবেশ করতে দেখবে,

And you see that the people enter Allah's religion (Islam) in crowds.

And thou dost see the people enter Allah's Religion in crowds,

তখন তুমি তোমার প্রতিপালকের প্রশংসাসহ পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করবে এবং তাঁর কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করবে; নিশ্চয়ই তিনি তাওবা গ্রহণকারী।

So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask His Forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.

Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for His Forgiveness: For He is Oft - Returning (in Grace and Mercy).
