সমকালীন বাংলা
আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু; বেশি পাওয়ার প্রতিযোগিতা তোমাদের ব্যস্ত রেখেছে,
Saheeh International
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you
Arabic, with marks
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ
Yusuf Ali
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things),
সমকালীন বাংলা
যতক্ষণ না তোমরা কবরগুলোতে পৌঁছাও,
Saheeh International
Until you visit the graveyards.

حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ
Yusuf Ali
Until ye visit the graves.
সমকালীন বাংলা
কখনোই না; শীঘ্রই তোমরা জানতে পারবে,
Saheeh International
No! You are going to know.

كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Yusuf Ali
But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality).
সমকালীন বাংলা
তারপর কখনোই না; শীঘ্রই তোমরা জানতে পারবে,
Saheeh International
Then no! You are going to know.

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Yusuf Ali
Again, ye soon shall know!
সমকালীন বাংলা
কখনোই না; যদি তোমরা নিশ্চিত জ্ঞান দিয়ে জানতে,
Saheeh International
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...

كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ
Yusuf Ali
Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!)
সমকালীন বাংলা
নিশ্চয়ই তোমরা জাহিম দেখতে পাবে,
Saheeh International
You will surely see the Hellfire.

لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ
Yusuf Ali
Ye shall certainly see Hell - Fire!
সমকালীন বাংলা
তারপর নিশ্চয়ই তোমরা তা স্বচক্ষে দেখবে,
Saheeh International
Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ
Yusuf Ali
Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight!

তারপর সেদিন তোমাদের অবশ্যই অনুগ্রহসমূহ সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে।
Saheeh International
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.

ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ
Yusuf Ali
Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).
