Chapter 3, 200 verses
এই সূরাটির নামটি আল-ই-ইমরানের 33 নম্বর আয়াত থেকে নেওয়া হয়েছে , অন্যান্য অনেক সূরার নামের মতো, এটি কেবলমাত্র এটিকে অন্যান্য সূরা থেকে আলাদা করার জন্য একটি নাম এবং এটি বোঝায় না যে এতে ইমরানের পরিবার সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করা হয়েছে।
প্রকাশের সময়কালএই সূরাটি চারটি বক্তৃতা নিয়ে গঠিত:
প্রথম বক্তৃতা ( ১-৩২ ) সম্ভবত বদর যুদ্ধের পরপরই প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল।
দ্বিতীয় বক্তৃতা ( ৩৩-৬৩ ) ৯ হিজরিতে নাজরানের খ্রিস্টানদের প্রতিনিধিদের সফর উপলক্ষে প্রকাশিত হয়।
তৃতীয় বক্তৃতা ( 64-120 ) প্রথমটির পরপরই প্রকাশিত হয়েছে বলে মনে হয়।
চতুর্থ বক্তৃতা ( 121-200 ) উহুদের যুদ্ধের পরে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল।
বিষয়যদিও এই বক্তৃতাগুলি বিভিন্ন সময়ে এবং বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল, তবে তারা তাদের লক্ষ্য, বস্তু এবং কেন্দ্রীয় বিষয়বস্তুর সাথে এতই আন্তঃসংযুক্ত এবং এত আন্তঃসংযুক্ত যে তারা একসাথে একটি অবিচ্ছিন্ন সমগ্র তৈরি করে। এই সূরাটি বিশেষভাবে দুটি দলকে সম্বোধন করা হয়েছে - আহলে কিতাব (ইহুদি ও খ্রিস্টান) এবং মুহাম্মাদ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) এর অনুসারীরা।
আল-বাকারায় দাওয়াতের ধারাবাহিকতায় ইহুদি ও খ্রিস্টানদের কাছে বার্তাটি প্রসারিত করা হয়েছে , যেখানে তাদের ভ্রান্ত বিশ্বাস এবং খারাপ নৈতিকতার জন্য উপদেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রতিকার হিসাবে, কুরআনের সত্যকে গ্রহণ করার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয়েছে। তাদের এখানে বলা হয়েছে যে, মুহাম্মাদ (সাল্লাল্লাহু ‘আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) তাদের নিজেদের নবীদের দ্বারা প্রচারিত জীবনযাপনের একই সঠিক পথ শিখিয়েছিলেন; যে একমাত্র সঠিক পথ, আল্লাহর পথ; তাই এটি থেকে কোনো বিচ্যুতি তাদের নিজস্ব ধর্মগ্রন্থ অনুসারেও ভুল হবে।
দ্বিতীয় দল, মুসলিমরা, যাদেরকে আল-বাকারায় শ্রেষ্ঠ সম্প্রদায় হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছিল এবং সত্যের মশাল-বাহক নিযুক্ত করা হয়েছিল এবং বিশ্ব সংস্কারের দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করা হয়েছিল, তাদেরকে আরও নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে যেগুলির ধারাবাহিকতায়। পূর্ববর্তী সূরা। মুসলমানদেরকে পূর্ববর্তী সম্প্রদায়ের ধর্মীয় ও নৈতিক অবক্ষয় থেকে শিক্ষা নিতে এবং তাদের পদচারণা থেকে বিরত থাকতে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে। তাদের যে সংস্কারমূলক কাজ করতে হবে সে বিষয়েও নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হয়েছে। এর পাশাপাশি তাদেরকে শেখানো হয়েছে আহলে কিতাব ও মুনাফিকদের সাথে কিভাবে আচরণ করতে হবে যারা আল্লাহর পথে নানা ধরনের প্রতিবন্ধকতা সৃষ্টি করছিল। সর্বোপরি, উহদ যুদ্ধে যেসব দুর্বলতা সামনে এসেছিল সেগুলো থেকে সতর্ক থাকার জন্য তাদেরকে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে।
পটভূমিসূরাটির পটভূমি নিম্নরূপ:
এই সূরাটি আল-বাকারারই ধারাবাহিকতা এবং এতে আহলে কিতাবদের জন্য দাওয়াত অব্যাহত রয়েছে। আল-বাকারায় , ইহুদিদের নির্দেশনা গ্রহণ করার জন্য সুস্পষ্টভাবে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছে এবং এই সূরায়, খ্রিস্টানদেরকে তাদের ভ্রান্ত বিশ্বাস পরিত্যাগ করে কুরআনের নির্দেশনা গ্রহণ করার জন্য বিশেষভাবে উপদেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। একই সাথে, মুসলমানদেরকে এমন সব গুণাবলী লালন করার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে যা তাদেরকে তাদের দায়িত্ব পালনে এবং খোদায়ী নির্দেশনা ছড়িয়ে দিতে সক্ষম করে।
এই পরিচায়ক আয়াতগুলিতে, আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে মৌলিক সত্য, প্রত্যাদেশ, এবং মৃত্যু-পরবর্তী জীবনকে উপযুক্ত প্রাথমিক হিসাবে পরিবেশন করার জন্য পুনর্ব্যক্ত করা হয়েছে, যা সূরাতে আলোচিত মূল বিষয়গুলির দিকে নিয়ে যায়। 1 - 32
এই বক্তৃতাটি বিশেষভাবে খ্রিস্টানদের উদ্দেশে বলা হয়েছে এবং তাদেরকে ইসলাম গ্রহণের আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়েছে। এটি যিশু এবং তাঁর মাকে কেবল ইহুদিদের দ্বারা বিদ্বেষপূর্ণভাবে তাদের উপর স্থাপন করা কলঙ্ক থেকে পরিষ্কার করে না, বরং যীশুর দেবত্বের ভ্রান্ত খ্রিস্টান ধর্মকেও খণ্ডন করে যা তাঁর অলৌকিক জন্মের কারণে প্রণয়ন করা হয়েছিল। এই উদ্দেশ্যে, একজন বন্ধ্যা মহিলা এবং একজন অত্যন্ত বৃদ্ধ পুরুষের কাছে জন ব্যাপ্টিস্টের উদাহরণ এবং পিতা বা মাতা ছাড়া আদমের উদাহরণগুলি উদ্ধৃত করা হয়েছে যাতে দেখা যায় যে পিতা ছাড়া যীশুর জন্মে তাকে দেবত্বের অধিকারী করার মতো কিছুই নেই। . 33 - 65

মুসলমানদেরকে আহলে কিতাবদের ইতিহাস থেকে শিক্ষা গ্রহণের জন্য এবং তাদের ষড়যন্ত্র থেকে নিজেদেরকে হেফাজত করার এবং পুণ্য প্রতিষ্ঠা ও মন্দকে নির্মূল করার জন্য প্রস্তুত ও প্রশিক্ষণের নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে। 102 - 120
এই অংশে, উহদ যুদ্ধের পর্যালোচনা করা হয়েছে মুসলমানদের শেখানোর এবং আশ্বস্ত করার জন্য যে তাদের শত্রুদের ষড়যন্ত্র তাদের কোন ক্ষতি করতে পারবে না যদি তারা সংযম ও দৃঢ়তার অনুশীলন করে এবং আল্লাহকে ভয় করে। ইঙ্গিত করা হয়েছে যে তারা যে বিপর্যয়ের শিকার হয়েছিল তা কিছু নৈতিক গুণাবলীর অভাব এবং কিছু খারাপের অস্তিত্বের কারণে হয়েছিল। পরাজয়ের প্রধান কারণ ছিল পাস পাহারাদার তীরন্দাজদের লোভ, তাই এই অশুভ (লোভ) অংশকে নির্মূল করার জন্য সুদ গ্রহণ নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। 121 - 175
আয়াত 109 - 120 এর মূল বিষয়বস্তু তাদের শত্রুদের বিপজ্জনক চক্রান্তের বিরুদ্ধে মুসলমানদের আশ্বস্ত ও উত্সাহিত করার জন্য পুনরায় শুরু করা হয়েছে। 175 - 189
এটি সূরার উপসংহার এবং এর ঠিক আগের আয়াতের সাথে সরাসরি যুক্ত নয় বরং সমগ্র সূরার বিষয়বস্তুর সাথে। 190 - 200

Alif, Lam, Meem.
الٓمٓ
ব্যতীত অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই, তিনি চিরঞ্জীব, সর্বসত্তার ধারক।
Allah! There is no god but He, - the Living, the Self - Subsisting, Eternal.
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever - Living, the Sustainer of existence.
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ
তিনি সত্যসহ কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করেছেন, যাহা উহার পূর্বের কিতাবের সমর্থক আর তিনি অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছিলেন তাওরাত ও ইনজীল
It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).
He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.
نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
ইতিপূর্বে মানবজাতির সৎপথ প্রদর্শনের জন্য; আর তিনি অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন। যাহারা নিদর্শনকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করে তাহাদের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি আছে। মহাপরাক্রমশালী, দণ্ডদাতা।
Then those who reject Faith in the Signs of Allah will suffer the severest penalty, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Lord of Retribution.
Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.
مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ
, নিশ্চয়ই আসমান ও যমিনে কিছুই তাঁহার নিকট গোপন থাকে না।
From Allah, verily nothing is hidden on earth or in the heavens.
Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ
তিনিই মাতৃগর্ভে যেভাবে ইচ্ছা তোমাদের আকৃতি গঠন করেন। তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই; তিনি প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
তিনিই তোমার প্রতি এই কিতাব অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন যাহার কিছু আয়াত ‘মুহ্কাম’, এইগুলি কিতাবের মূল ; আর অন্যগুলি ‘মুতাশাবিহ্’, যাহাদের অন্তরে সত্য - লংঘন প্রবণতা রহিয়াছে শুধু তাহারাই ফিতনা এবং ভুল ব্যাখ্যার উদ্দেশ্যে মুতাশাবিহাতের অনুসরণ করে। ব্যতীত অন্য কেহ ইহার ব্যাখ্যা জানে না। আর যাহারা জ্ঞানে সুগভীর তাহারা বলে, ‘আমরা ইহা বিশ্বাস করি, সমস্তই আমাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে আগত’; এবং বোধশক্তিসম্পন্নেরা ব্যতীত অপর কেহ শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে না।
He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.
It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! সরল পথ প্রদর্শনের পর তুমি আমাদের অন্তরকে সত্য লংঘনপ্রবণ করিও না এবং তোমার নিকট হইতে আমাদেরকে করুণা দান কর, নিশ্চয়ই তুমি মহাদাতা।
"Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.
[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি মানব জাতিকে একদিন একত্রে সমবেত করিবে, ইহাতে কোন সন্দেহ নাই; নিশ্চয়ই প্রতিশ্রতির ব্যতিক্রম করেন না।’
"Our Lord! Thou art He that will gather mankind Together against a day about which there is no doubt; for Allah never fails in His promise."
Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise."
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
নিশ্চয়ই যাহারা করে নিকট তাহাদের ধনৈশ্বর্য ও সন্তান - সন্ততি অবশ্যই কোন কাজে লাগিবে না এবং ইহারাই দোজখের ইন্ধন।
Those who reject Faith, - neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They are themselves but fuel for the Fire.
Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ
তাহাদের অভ্যাস ফির‘আওনী সম্প্রদায় ও তাহাদের পূর্ববর্তিগণের অভ্যাসের ন্যায়; উহারা আমার আয়াতসমূহ অস্বীকার করিয়াছিল; ফলে তাহাদের পাপের জন্য তাহাদেরকে শাস্তিদান করিয়াছিলেন। শাস্তিদানে অত্যন্ত কঠোর।
(Their plight will be) no better than that of the people of Pharaoh, and their predecessors: They denied our Signs, and Allah called them to account for their sins. For Allah is strict in punishment.
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in penalty.
كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
যাহারা করে তাহাদেরকে বল, ‘তোমরা শীঘ্রই পরাভূত হইবে এবং তোমাদেরকে একত্রিত করিয়া জাহান্নামের দিকে লইয়া যাওয়া হইবে। আর উহা কত নিকৃষ্ট আবাসস্থল !’
Say to those who reject Faith: "Soon will ye be vanquished and gathered together to Hell, - an evil bed indeed (to lie on)!
Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place."
قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ
দুইটি দলের পরস্পর সম্মুখীন হওয়ার মধ্যে তোমাদের জন্য অবশ্যই নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে। একদল পথে যুদ্ধ করিতেছিল, অন্যদল ছিল ; উহারা তাহাদেরকে চোখের দেখায় দ্বিগুণ দেখিতেছিল। যাহাকে ইচ্ছা নিজ সাহায্য দ্বারা শক্তিশালী করেন। নিশ্চয় ইহাতে অন্তর্দৃষ্টিসম্পন্ন লোকের জন্য শিক্ষা রহিয়াছে।
"There has already been for you a Sign in the two armies that met (in combat): One was fighting in the cause of Allah, the other resisting Allah; these saw with their own eyes Twice their number. But Allah doth support with His aid whom He pleaseth. In this is a warning for such as have eyes to see."
Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.
قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى
নারী, সন্তান, রাশিকৃত স্বর্ণরৌপ্য আর চিহ্নিত অশ্বরাজি, গবাদিপশু এবং ক্ষেত - খামারের প্রতি আকর্ষণ মানুষের জন্য সুশোভিত করা হইয়াছে। এইসব ইহজীবনের ভোগ্য বস্তু। আর তাঁহারই নিকট রহিয়াছে উত্তম আশ্রয়স্থল।
Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: Women and sons; Heaped - up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well - tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (To return to).
Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped - up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَ
বল, ‘আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এই সব বস্তু হইতে উৎকৃষ্টতর কোন কিছুর সংবাদ দিব? যাহারা তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন করিয়া চলে তাহাদের জন্য তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট জান্নাতসমূহ রহিয়াছে, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। আর সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে, তাহাদের জন্য পবিত্র সঙ্গিনীগণ এবং নিকট হইতে সন্তুষ্টি রহিয়াছে। বান্দাদের সম্পর্কে সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
Say: Shall I give you glad tidings of things Far better than those? For the righteous are Gardens in nearness to their Lord, with rivers flowing beneath; therein is their eternal home; with companions pure (and holy); and the good pleasure of Allah. For in Allah's sight are (all) His servants, -
Say, "Shall I inform you of [something] better than that? For those who fear Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants -
قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِير
যাহারা বলে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমরা ঈমান আনিয়াছি ; সুতরাং তুমি আমাদের পাপ ক্ষমা কর এবং আমাদেরকে আগুনের আযাব হইতে রক্ষা কর ;
(Namely), those who say: "Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us, then, our sins, and save us from the agony of the Fire;" -
Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire,"
ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
তাহারা ধৈর্যশীল, সত্যবাদী, অনুগত, ব্যয়কারী এবং শেষ রাত্রে ক্ষমাপ্রার্থী।
Those who show patience, Firmness and self - control; who are true (in word and deed); who worship devoutly; who spend (in the way of Allah); and who pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning.
The patient, the true, the obedient, those who spend [in the way of Allah], and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.
ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ
সাক্ষ্য দেন যে, নিশ্চয়ই তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই, ফিরিশতাগণ এবং জ্ঞানীগণও ; ন্যায়নীতিতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত, তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন নাই; তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
নিঃসন্দেহে ইসলামই নিকট একমাত্র দীন। যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছিল তাহারা পরস্পর বিদ্বেষবশত তাহাদের নিকট জ্ঞান আসিবার পর মতানৈক্য ঘটাইয়াছিল। আর কেহ আল্লাহর নিদর্শনকে অস্বীকার করিলে তো হিসাব গ্রহণে অত্যন্ত তৎপর।
The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account.
إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِ
যদি তাহারা তোমার সঙ্গে বিতর্কে লিপ্ত হয় তবে তুমি বল, ‘আমি আল্লাহর নিকট আত্মসর্মপণ করিয়াছি এবং আমার অনুসারিগণও।’ আর যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছে তাহাদেরকে ও নিরক্ষরদেরকে বল, ‘তোমরাও কি আত্মসর্মপণ করিয়াছ?’ যদি তাহারা আত্মসর্মপণ করে তবে নিশ্চয়ই তাহারা হিদায়াত পাইবে। আর যদি তাহারা মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয় তবে তোমার কর্তব্য শুধু প্রচার করা। বান্দাদের সম্পর্কে সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants.
So if they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself to Allah [in Islam], and [so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned, "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in Islam], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away - then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants.
فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّۦنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَي
যাহারা আল্লাহর আয়াত অস্বীকার করে, অন্যায়রূপে নবীদের হত্যা করে এবং মানুষের মধ্যে যাহারা ন্যায়পরায়ণতার নির্দেশ দেয় তাহাদেরকে হত্যা করে, তুমি তাহাদেরকে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তির সংবাদ দাও।
As to those who deny the Signs of Allah and in defiance of right, slay the prophets, and slay those who teach just dealing with mankind, announce to them a grievous penalty.
Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people - give them tidings of a painful punishment.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
এইসব লোক, ইহাদের কার্যাবলী দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে নিষ্ফল হইবে এবং তাহাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী নাই।
They are those whose works will bear no fruit in this world and in the Hereafter nor will they have anyone to help.
They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
তুমি কি তাহাদেরকে দেখ নাই যাহাদেরকে কিতাবের অংশ প্রদান করা হইয়াছিল? তাহাদেরকে কিতাবের দিকে আহ্বান করা হইয়াছিল যাহাতে উহা তাহাদের মধ্যে মীমাংসা করিয়া দেয়; অতঃপর তাহাদের একদল ফিরিয়া দাঁড়ায়, আর তাহারাই পরাক্সমুখ;
Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who have been given a portion of the Book? They are invited to the Book of Allah, to settle their dispute, but a party of them Turn back and decline (The arbitration).
Do you not consider, [O Muhammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allah that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
এইহেতু যে, তাহারা বলিয়া থাকে, ‘দিন কতক ব্যতীত আমাদেরকে অগ্নি কখনই স্পর্শ করিবে না। তাহাদের নিজেদের দীন সম্বন্ধে তাহাদের মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন তাহাদেরকে প্রবঞ্চিত করিয়াছে।
This because they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days": For their forgeries deceive them as to their own religion.
That is because they say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days," and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
কিন্তু সেইদিন, যাহাতে কোন সন্দেহ নাই, তাহাদের কি অবস্থা হইবে? যে দিন আমি তাহাদেরকে একত্র করিব এবং প্রত্যেককে তাহার অর্জিত কর্মের প্রতিদান পূর্ণভাবে দেওয়া হইবে, আর তাহাদের প্রতি কোন অন্যায় করা হইবে না।
But how (will they fare) when we gather them together against a day about which there is no doubt, and each soul will be paid out just what it has earned, without (favour or) injustice?
So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
বল, ‘হে সার্বভৌম শক্তির মালিক তুমি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা ক্ষমতা প্রদান কর এবং যাহার নিকট হইতে ইচ্ছা ক্ষমতা কাড়িয়া লও; যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তুমি ইজ্জত দান কর, আর যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তুমি হীন কর। কল্যাণ তোমার হাতেই। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি সকল বিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
Say: "O Allah! Lord of Power (And Rule), Thou givest power to whom Thou pleasest, and Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest: Thou enduest with honour whom Thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low whom Thou pleasest: In Thy hand is all good. Verily, over all things Thou hast power.
Say, "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.
قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
‘তুমি রাত্রিকে দিবসে পরিণত এবং দিবসকে রাত্রিতে পরিণত কর : তুমিই মৃত হইতে জীবন্তের আবির্ভাব ঘটাও, আবার জীবন্তহইতে মৃতের আবির্ভাব ঘটাও। তুমি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা অপরিমিত জীবনোপকরণ দান কর।’
"Thou causest the night to gain on the day, and thou causest the day to gain on the night; Thou bringest the Living out of the dead, and Thou bringest the dead out of the Living; and Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou pleasest, without measure."
You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account."
تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
মু’মিনগণ যেন মু’মিনগণ ব্যতীত কাফিরদের বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ না করে। যে কেহ এইরূপ করিবে তাহার সঙ্গে আল্লাহর কোন সম্পর্ক থাকিবে না; তবে ব্যতিক্রম, যদি তোমরা তাহাদের নিকট হইতে আত্মরক্ষারর জন্য সতর্কতা অবলম্বন কর। আর তাঁহার নিজের সম্বন্ধে তোমাদেরকে সাবধান করিতেছেন এবং আল্লাহর দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তন।
Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah.
Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.
لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَ
বল, ‘তোমাদের অন্তরে যাহা আছে তাহা যদি তোমরা গোপন অথবা ব্যক্ত কর উহা অবগত আছেন এবং আসমান ও যমীনে যাহা কিছু আছে তাহাও অবগত আছেন। সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান’।
Say: "Whether ye hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it all: He knows what is in the heavens, and what is on earth. And Allah has power over all things.
Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent.
قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
যেদিন প্রত্যেকে সে যে ভাল কাজ করিয়াছে এবং সে যে মন্দ কাজ করিয়াছে তাহা বিদ্যমান পাইবে, সেদিন সে তাহার ও উহার মধ্যে দূর ব্যবধান কামনা করিবে। তাঁহার নিজের সম্বন্ধে তোমাদেরকে সাবধান করিতেছেন। বান্দাদের প্রতি অত্যন্ত দয়ার্দ্র।
"On the Day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, and all the evil it has done, it will wish there were a great distance between it and its evil. But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself. And Allah is full of kindness to those that serve Him."
The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants."
يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًا وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِ
বল, ‘তোমরা যদি কে ভালবাস তবে আমাকে অনুসরণ কর, তোমাদেরকে ভালবাসিবেন এবং তোমাদের অপরাধ ক্ষমা করিবেন। অত্যন্ত ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।’
Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful."
Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
বল, ও রাসূলের অনুগত হও।’ যদি তাহারা মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয় তবে জানিয়া রাখ, তো কাফিরদেরকে পছন্দ করেন না।
Say: "Obey Allah and His Messenger": But if they turn back, Allah loveth not those who reject Faith.
Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers.
قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
নিশ্চয়ই আদমকে, নূহকে ও ইব্রাহীমের বংশধর এবং ‘ইমরানের বংশধরকে বিশ্বজগতে মনোনীত করিয়াছেন।
Allah did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of 'Imran above all people, -
Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds -
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
ইহারা একে অপরের বংশধর। সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Offspring, one of the other: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.
Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
স্মরণ কর, যখন ইমরানের স্ত্রী বলিয়াছিল, হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমার গর্ভে যাহা আছে তাহা একান্ততোমার জন্য আমি উৎসর্গ করিলাম। সুতরাং তুমি আমার নিকট হইতে উহা কবূল কর, নিশ্চয়ই তুমি সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Behold! a woman of 'Imran said: "O my Lord! I do dedicate unto Thee what is in my womb for Thy special service: So accept this of me: For Thou hearest and knowest all things."
[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing."
إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
অতঃপর যখন সে উহাকে প্রসব করিল তখন সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমি কন্যা প্রসব করিয়াছি।’ সে যাহা প্রসব করিয়াছে তাহা সম্যক অবগত। ‘আর ছেলে তো এই মেয়ের মত নয়, আমি উহার নাম ‘মার্ইয়াম’ রাখিয়াছি এবং অভিশপ্ত শয়তান হইতে তাহার ও তাহার বংশধরদের জন্য তোমার শরণ লইতেছি।’
When she was delivered, she said: "O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!" - and Allah knew best what she brought forth - "And no wise is the male Like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Thy protection from the Evil One, the Rejected."
But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]."
فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشّ
অতঃপর তাহার প্রতিপালক তাহাকে ভালভাবে কবূল করিলেন এবং তাহাকে উত্তমরূপে লালনপালন করিলেন এবং তিনি তাহাকে যাকারিয়ার তত্ত্বাবধানে রাখিয়াছিলেন। যখনই যাকারিয়া কক্ষে তাহার সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করিতে যাইত তখনই তাহার নিকট খাদ্য - সামগ্রী দেখিতে পাইত। সে বলিত, ‘হে মার্ইয়াম! এই সব তুমি কোথায় পাইলে?’ সে বলিত, ‘উহা নিকট হইতে।’ নিশ্চয়ই যাহাকে ইচ্ছা অপরিমিত রিযিক দান করেন।
Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?" She said: "From Allah: for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure."
So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account."
فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًا قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا قَا
সেখানেই যাকারিয়া তাহার প্রতিপালকের নিকট প্রার্থনা করিয়া বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে তুমি তোমার নিকট হইতে সৎ বংশধর দান কর। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি প্রার্থনা শ্রবণকারী।’
There did Zakariya pray to his Lord, saying: "O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for Thou art He that heareth prayer!
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ
যখন যাকারিয়া কক্ষে সালাতে দাঁড়াইয়াছিলেন তখন ফিরিশতাগণ তাহাকে সম্বোধন করিয়া বলিল, তোমাকে ইয়াহ্ইয়ার সুসংবাদ দিতেছেন, সে হইবে আল্লাহর বাণীর সমর্থক, নেতা, স্ত্রী বিরাগী এবং পুণ্যবানদের মধ্যে একজন নবী।’
While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him: "Allah doth give thee glad tidings of Yahya, witnessing the truth of a Word from Allah, and (be besides) noble, chaste, and a prophet, - of the (goodly) company of the righteous."
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."
فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমার পুত্র হইবে কিরূপে? আমার তো বার্ধক্য আসিয়াছে এবং আমার স্ত্রী বন্ধ্যা’ তিনি বলিলেন’ এই ভাবেই। যাহা ইচ্ছা তাহা করেন।
He said: "O my Lord! How shall I have son, seeing I am very old, and my wife is barren?""Thus," was the answer, "Doth Allah accomplish what He willeth."
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" The angel said, "Such is Allah; He does what He wills."
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ
সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক! আমাকে একটি নিদর্শন দাও।’ তিনি বলিলেন, ‘তোমার নিদর্শন এই যে, তিন দিন তুমি ইংগিত ব্যতীত কথা বলিতে পারিবে না, আর তোমার প্রতিপালককে অধিক স্মরণ করিবে এবং সন্ধ্যায় ও প্রভাতে তাঁহার পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করিবে।’
He said: "O my Lord! Give me a Sign!""Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three days but with signals. Then celebrate the praises of thy Lord again and again, and glorify Him in the evening and in the morning."
He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning."
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ
স্মরণ কর, যখন ফিরিশ্তাগণ বলিয়াছিল, ‘হে মার্ইয়াম! তোমাকে মনোনীত ও পবিত্র করিয়াছেন এবং বিশ্বের নারীগণের মধ্যে তোমাকে মনোনীত করিয়াছেন।
Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee - chosen thee above the women of all nations.
And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.
وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
‘হে মার্ইয়াম! তোমার প্রতিপালকের অনুগত হও ও সিজ্দা কর এবং যাহারা রুকূ‘ করে তাহাদের সঙ্গে রুকূ‘ কর।’
"O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down."
O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]."
يَٰمَرْيَمُ ٱقْنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسْجُدِى وَٱرْكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ
ইহা বিষয়ের সংবাদ - যাহা তোমাকে ওহী দ্বারা অবহিত করিতেছি। মার্ইয়ামের তত্ত্বাবধানের দায়িত্ব তাহাদের মধ্যে কে গ্রহণ করিবে ইহার জন্য যখন তাহারা তাহাদের কলম নিক্ষেপ করিতেছিল তুমি তখন তাহাদের নিকট ছিলে না এবং তাহারা যখন বাদানুবাদ করিতেছিল তখনও তুমি তাহাদের নিকট ছিলে না।
This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).
That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
স্মরণ কর, যখন ফিরিশ্তাগণ বলিল, ‘হে মার্ইয়াম ! নিশ্চয়ই তোমাকে তাঁহার পক্ষ হইতে একটি কালেমার সুসংবাদ দিতেছেন। তাহার নাম মাসীহ্ মার্ইয়াম - তনয় ‘ঈসা, সে দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে সম্মানিত এবং সান্নিধ্যপ্রাপ্তগণের অন্যতম হইবে।
Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah;
[And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah].
إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ ٱسْمُهُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
‘সে দোলনায় থাকা অবস্থায় ও পরিণত বয়সে মানুষের সঙ্গে কথা বলিবে এবং সে হইবে পুণ্যবানদের একজন।’
"He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. And he shall be (of the company) of the righteous."
He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."
وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
সে বলিল, ‘হে আমার প্রতিপালক ! আমাকে কোন পুরুষ স্পর্শ করে নাই, আমার সন্তান হইবে কীভাবে?’ তিনি বলিলেন, ‘এইভাবেই’, যাহা ইচ্ছা সৃষ্টি করেন। তিনি যখন কিছু স্থির করেন তখন বলেন, ‘হও’ এবং ইহা হইয়া যায়।
She said: "O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is!
She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.
قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
‘এবং তিনি তাহাকে শিক্ষা দিবেন কিতাব, হিকমত, তাওরাত ও ইন্জীল।
"And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel,
And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel
وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
‘এবং তাহাকে বনী ইসরাঈলের জন্য রাসূল করিবেন।’ সে বলিবে, ‘আমি তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ হইতে তোমাদের নিকট নিদর্শন লইয়া আসিয়াছি। আমি তোমাদের জন্য কর্দম দ্বারা একটি পক্ষীসদৃশ আকৃতি গঠন করিব ; অতঃপর ইহাতে আমি ফুৎকার দিব; ফলে আল্লাহর হুকুমে উহা পাখি হইয়া যাইবে। আমি জন্মান্ধ ও কুষ্ঠ ব্যাধিগ্রস্তকে নিরাময় করিব এবং আল্লাহর হুকুমে মৃতকে জীবন্তকরিব। তোমরা তোমাদের গৃহে যাহা আহার কর ও মওজুদ কর তাহা তোমাদেরকে বলিয়া দিব। তোমরা যদি হও তবে ইহাতে তোমাদের জন্য নিদর্শন রহিয়াছে।
"And (appoint him) a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message): "'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;
And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.
وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبْرِئ
‘আর আমি আসিয়াছি আমার সম্মুখে তাওরাতে যাহা রহিয়াছে উহার সমর্থকরূপে ও তোমাদের জন্য যাহা নিষিদ্ধ ছিল উহার কতকগুলিকে বৈধ করিতে। এবং আমি তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ হইতে তোমাদের নিকট নিদর্শন লইয়া আসিয়াছি। সুতরাং আল্লাহ্কে ভয় কর আর আমাকে অনুসরণ কর।
"'(I have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me.
And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me.
وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
‘নিশ্চয়ই আমার প্রতিপালক এবং তোমাদেরও প্রতিপালক, সুতরাং তোমরা তাঁহার ‘ইবাদত করিবে। ইহাই সরল পথ।’
"'It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'"
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path."
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
যখন ‘ঈসা তাহাদের অবিশ্বাস উপলব্ধি করিল তখন সে বলিল, আল্লাহর পথে কাহারা আমার সাহায্যকারী?’ হাওয়ারীগণ বলিল, ‘আমরাই আল্লাহর পথে হায্যকারী। আমরা আল্লাহর ঈমান আনিয়াছি। আমরা আত্মসর্মপণ - কারী, তুমি ইহার সাক্ষী থাক।
When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.
But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].
فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক ! তুমি যাহা অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছ তাহাতে আমরা ঈমান আনিয়াছি এবং আমরা এই রাসূলের অনুসরণ করিয়াছি। সুতরাং আমাদেরকে সাক্ষ্যদান - কারীদের তালিকাভুক্ত কর।’
"Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger; then write us down among those who bear witness."
Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth]."
رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
আর তাহারা চক্রান্ত করিয়াছিল আল্লাহও কৌশল করিয়াছিলেন; কৌশলীদের শ্রেষ্ঠ।
And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah.
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.
وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ
স্মরণ কর, যখন বলিবেন, ‘হে ‘ঈসা! আমি তোমার কাল পূর্ণ করিতেছি এবং আমার নিকট তোমাকে তুলিয়া লইতেছি এবং যাহারা করিয়াছে তাহাদের মধ্য হইতে তোমাকে পবিত্র করিতেছি। আর তোমার অনুসারিগণকে কিয়ামত পর্যন্ত কাফিরদের উপর প্রাধান্য দিতেছি, অতঃপর আমার কাছে তোমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন।’ তারপর যে বিষয়ে তোমাদের মতান্তর ঘটিতেছে আমি উহা মীমাংসা করিয়া দিব।
Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.
[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.
إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ
যাহারা করিয়াছে আমি তাহাদেরকে দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে কঠোর শাস্তি প্রদান করিব এবং তাহাদের কোন সাহায্য - কারী নাই।
"As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."
And as for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers."
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
আর যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে এবং সৎকাজ করিয়াছে তিনি তাহাদের প্রতিফল পুরাপুরিভাবে প্রদান করিবেন। জালিমদের পছন্দ করেন না।
"As to those who believe and work righteousness, Allah will pay them (in full) their reward; but Allah loveth not those who do wrong."
But as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
ইহা আমি তোমার নিকট তিলাওয়াত করিতেছি আয়াতসমূহ ও সারগর্ভ বাণী হইতে।
"This is what we rehearse unto thee of the Signs and the Message of Wisdom."
This is what We recite to you, [O Muhammad], of [Our] verses and the precise [and wise] message.
ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَٱلذِّكْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
আল্লাহর নিকট নিশ্চয়ই ‘ঈসার দৃষ্টান্তআদমের দৃষ্টান্তসদৃশ। তিনি তাহাকে মৃত্তিকা হইতে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছেন; অতঃপর উহাকে বলিলেন ‘হও’, ফলে সে হইয়া গেল।
The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.
Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
সত্য তো তোমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে, সুতরাং তুমি সংশয়বাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হইও না।
The Truth (comes) from Allah alone; so be not of those who doubt.
The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.
ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ
তোমার নিকট জ্ঞান আসিবার পর যে কেহ এই বিষয়ে তোমার সঙ্গে তর্ক করে তাহাকে বল, আস, আমরা আহ্বান করি আমাদের পুত্রগণকে ও তোমাদের পুত্রগণকে, আমাদের নারীগণকে ও তোমাদের নারীগণকে, আমাদের নিজেদেরকে ও তোমাদের নিজেদেরকে, অতঃপর আমরা বিনীত আবেদন করি এবং মিথ্যাবাদীদের উপর দেই আল্লাহর লা’নত।
If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together, - our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!"
Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us]."
فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ
নিশ্চয়ই ইহা সত্য বৃত্তান্ত। ব্যতীত অন্য ইলাহ্ নাই; নিশ্চয় পরম প্রতাপশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
This is the true account: There is no god except Allah; and Allah - He is indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise.
Indeed, this is the true narration. And there is no deity except Allah. And indeed, Allah is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
যদি তাহারা মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয়, তবে নিশ্চয়ই ফাসাদকারীদের সম্বন্ধে সম্যক অবহিত।
But if they turn back, Allah hath full knowledge of those who do mischief.
But if they turn away, then indeed - Allah is Knowing of the corrupters.
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
তুমি বল, ‘হে কিতাবীগণ ! আস সে কথায় যাহা আমাদের ও তোমাদের মধ্যে এক; যেন আমরা ব্যতীত কাহারও ‘ইবাদত না করি, কোন কিছুকেই তাঁহার শরীক না করি এবং আমাদের কেহ কাহাকে ও ব্যতীত রব হিসাবে গ্রহণ না করে।’ যদি তাহারা মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয় তবে বল, ‘তোমরা সাক্ষী থাক, অবশ্যই আমরা মুসলিম।’
Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will).
Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱل
হে কিতাবীগণ! ইব্রাহীম সম্বন্ধে কেন তোমরা তর্ক কর, অথচ তাওরাত ও ইন্জীল তো তাহার পরেই অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছিল? তোমরা কি বুঝ না?
Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding?
O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
হাঁ, তোমরা তো সেইসব লোক, যে বিষয়ে তোমাদের সামান্য জ্ঞান আছে সে বিষয়ে তোমরাই তো তর্ক করিয়াছ, তবে যে বিষয়ে তোমাদের কোন জ্ঞান নাই সে বিষয়ে কেন তর্ক করিতেছ?
Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (Even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! but why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and ye who know not!
Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not.
هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
ইব্রাহীম ইয়াহূদীও ছিল না, খ্রিস্টানও ছিল না; সে ছিল একনিষ্ঠ আত্মসর্মপণকারী এবং সে মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভুক্তও ছিল না।
Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah's (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists.
مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
নিশ্চয়ই মানুষের মধ্যে তাহারা ইব্রাহীমের ঘনিষ্ঠতম যাহারা তাহার অনুসরণ করিয়াছে এবং এই নবী ও যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে; আর মু’মিনদের অভিভাবক।
Without doubt, among men, the nearest of kin to Abraham, are those who follow him, as are also this Prophet and those who believe: And Allah is the Protector of those who have faith.
Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers.
إِنَّ أَوْلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
কিতাবীদের একদল চাহে যেন তোমাদেরকে বিপথগামী করিতে পারে, অথচ তাহারা নিজেদেরকেই বিপথগামী করে, কিন্তু তাহারা উপলব্ধি করে না।
It is the wish of a section of the People of the Book to lead you astray. But they shall lead astray (Not you), but themselves, and they do not perceive!
A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.
وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
হে কিতাবী - গণ! তোমরা কেন আয়াতকে অস্বীকার কর, যখন তোমরাই সাক্ষ্য বহন কর?
Ye People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, of which ye are (Yourselves) witnesses?
O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]?
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ
হে কিতাবীগণ! তোমরা কেন সত্যকে মিথ্যার সঙ্গে মিশ্রিত কর এবং সত্য গোপন কর, যখন তোমরা জান?
Ye People of the Book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge?
O People of the Scripture, why do you confuse the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]?
يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
কিতাবীদের একদল বলিল, ‘যাহারা ঈমান আনিয়াছে তাহাদের প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে তোমরা দিনের প্রারম্ভেতাহা বিশ্বাস কর এবং দিনের শেষে তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান কর ; হয়ত তাহারা ফিরিবে।
A section of the People of the Book say: "Believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) Turn back;
And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], "Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion,
وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
‘আর যে ব্যক্তি তোমাদের দীনের অনুসরণ করে তাহাদেরকে ব্যতীত আর কাহাকেও বিশ্বাস করিও না।’ বল, ‘আল্লাহর নির্দেশিত পথই একমাত্র পথ। ইহা এইজন্য যে, তোমাদেরকে যাহা দেওয়া হইয়াছে অনুরূপ আর কাহাকেও দেওয়া হইবে অথবা তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের সম্মুখে তাহারা তোমাদেরকে যুক্তিতে পরাভূত করিবে। বল, ‘অনুগ্রহ আল্লারই হাতে ; তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তাহা প্রদান করেন। প্রাচুর্যময়, সর্বজ্ঞ।
"And believe no one unless he follows your religion." Say: "True guidance is the Guidance of Allah: (Fear ye) Lest a revelation be sent to someone (else) Like unto that which was sent unto you? or that those (Receiving such revelation) should engage you in argument before your Lord?" Say: "All bounties are in the hand of Allah: He granteth them to whom He pleaseth: And Allah careth for all, and He knoweth all things."
And do not trust except those who follow your religion." Say, "Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?" Say, "Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah - He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all - Encompassing and Wise."
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُ
তিনি স্বীয় অনুগ্রহের জন্য যাহাকে ইচ্ছা বিশেষ করিয়া বাচিয়া নেন। মহা অনুগ্রহশীল।
For His Mercy He specially chooseth whom He pleaseth; for Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded.
He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
কিতাবীদের মধ্যে এমন লোক রহিয়াছে, যে বিপুল সম্পদ আমানত রাখিলেও ফেরত দিবে; আবার এমন লোকও আছে যাহার নিকট একটি দীনারও আমানত রাখিলে তাহার পিছনে লাগিয়া না থাকিলে সে ফেরত দিবে না, ইহা এই কারণে যে, তাহারা বলে, ‘নিরক্ষরদের প্রতি আমাদের কোন বাধ্যবাধকতা নাই’, এবং তাহারা জানিয়া - শুনিয়া সম্পর্কে মিথ্যা বলে।
Among the People of the Book are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, "there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these ignorant (Pagans)." but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it.
And among the People of the Scripture is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a [single] silver coin, he will not return it to you unless you are constantly standing over him [demanding it]. That is because they say, "There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned." And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it].
وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُ
হাঁ, কেহ তাহার অঙ্গীকার পূর্ণ করিলে এবং তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন করিয়া চলিলে অবশ্যই মুত্তাকীদের ভালবাসেন।
Nay. - Those that keep their plighted faith and act aright, - verily Allah loves those who act aright.
But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah - then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him.
بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
যাহারা সঙ্গে কৃত প্রতিশ্রুতি এবং নিজেদের শপথকে তুচ্ছ মূল্যে বিক্রয় করে পরকালে তাহাদের কোন অংশ নাই। কিয়ামতের দিন তাহাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলিবেন না এবং তাহাদের দিকে চাহিবেন না এবং তাহাদেরকে পরিশুদ্ধ করিবেন না ; তাহাদের জন্য মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter: Nor will Allah (Deign to) speak to them or look at them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He cleans them (of sin): They shall have a grievous penalty.
Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُز
আর নিশ্চয়ই তাহাদের মধ্যে একদল লোক আছেই যাহারা কিতাবকে জিহ্বা দ্বারা বিকৃত করে যাহাতে তোমরা উহাকে আল্লাহর কিতাবের অংশ মনে কর; কিন্তু উহা কিতাবের অংশ নহে এবং তাহারা বলে, ‘উহা আল্লাহর পক্ষ হইতে’, কিন্তু উহা আল্লাহর পক্ষ হইতে প্রেরিত নহে।
There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah," but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it!
And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the Scripture with their tongues so you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know.
وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى
কোন ব্যক্তিকে কিতাব, হিকমত ও নবুওয়াত দান করিবার পর সে মানুষকে বলিবে, ‘আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তোমরা আমার দাস হইয়া যাও’, ইহা তাহার জন্য সঙ্গত নহে ; বরং সে বলিবে, ‘তোমরা রব্বানী হইয়া যাও, যেহেতু তোমরা কিতাব শিক্ষা দান কর এবং যেহেতু তোমরা অধ্যয়ন কর।’
It is not (possible) that a man, to whom is given the Book, and Wisdom, and the prophetic office, should say to people: "Be ye my worshippers rather than Allah's": on the contrary (He would say) "Be ye worshippers of Him Who is truly the Cherisher of all: For ye have taught the Book and ye have studied it earnestly."
It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."
مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّٰنِيِّۦنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱل
ফিরিশ্তাগণকে ও নবীগণকে প্রতিপালকরূপে গ্রহণ করিতে সে তোমাদেরকে নির্দেশ দিতে পারে না। তোমাদের মুসলিম হওয়ার পর সে কি তোমাদেরকে কুফরীর নির্দেশ দিবে?
Nor would he instruct you to take angels and prophets for Lords and patrons. What! would he bid you to unbelief after ye have bowed your will (To Allah in Islam)?
Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims?
وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ أَرْبَابًا أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহর নবীদের অঙ্গীকার লইয়াছিলেন যে, তোমাদেরকে কিতাব ও হিকমত যাহা কিছু দিয়াছি, অতঃপর তোমাদের কাছে যাহা আছে তাহার প্রত্যায়নকারীরূপে যখন একজন রাসূল আসিবে তখন তোমরা অবশ্যই তাহার প্রতি ঈমান আনিবে এবং তাহাকে সাহায্য করিবে।’ তিনি বলিবেন, ‘তোমরা কি স্বীকার করিলে? এবং এই সম্পর্কে আমার অঙ্গীকার কি তোমরা গ্রহণ করিলে?’ তাহারা বলিল, ‘আমরা স্বীকার করিলাম।’ তিনি বলিলেন, ‘তবে তোমরা সাক্ষী থাক এবং আমিও তোমাদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষী রহিলাম।’
Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him." [Allah] said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ
ইহার পর যাহারা মুখ ফিরাইবে তাহারাই সত্যপথত্যাগী।
If any turn back after this, they are perverted transgressors.
And whoever turned away after that - they were the defiantly disobedient.
فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
তাহারা কি চাহে দীনের পরিবর্তে অন্য দীন? যখন আকাশে ও পৃথিবীতে যাহা কিছু রহিয়াছে সমস্তই স্বেচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায় তাঁহার নিকট আত্মসর্মপণ করিয়াছে! আর তাঁহার দিকেই তাহারা প্রত্যানীত হইবে।
Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah? - while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam), and to Him shall they all be brought back.
So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?
أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ ٱللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ
বল, ‘আমরা আল্লাহতে এবং আমাদের প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে এবং ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল, ইসহাক, ইয়া‘কূব ও তাহার বংশধরগণের প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছিল এবং যাহা মূসা, ‘ঈসা ও অন্যান্য নবীকে তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে যাহা প্রদান করা হইয়াছে তাহাতে ঈমান আনিয়াছি, আমরা তাহাদের মধ্যে কোন তারতম্য করি না এবং আমরা তাঁহারই নিকট আত্মসর্মপণকারী।’
Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)."
Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."
قُلْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُف
কেহ ইসলাম ব্যতীত অন্য কোন দীন গ্রহণ করিতে চাহিলে তাহা কখনও কবূল করা হইবে না এবং সে হইবে আখিরাতে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).
And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
কিরূপে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করিবেন সেই সম্প্রদায়কে, যাহারা ঈমান আনয়নের পর ও রাসূলকে সত্য বলিয়া সাক্ষ্যদান করিবার পর এবং তাহাদের নিকট স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন আসিবার পর করে? সম্প্রদায়কে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন না।
How shall Allah Guide those who reject Faith after they accepted it and bore witness that the Messenger was true and that Clear Signs had come unto them? but Allah guides not a people unjust.
How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
كَيْفَ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
ইহারাই তাহারা যাহাদের কর্মফল এই যে, তাহাদের উপর ফিরিশতাগণের এবং মানুষ সকলেরই লা‘নত।
Of such the reward is that on them (rests) the curse of Allah, of His angels, and of all mankind; -
Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together,
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
তাহারা ইহাতে স্থায়ী হইবে, তাহাদের শাস্তি লঘু করা হইবে না এবং তাহাদেরকে অবকাশও দেওয়া হইবে না।
In that will they dwell; nor will their penalty be lightened, nor respite be (their lot); -
Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
তবে ইহার পর যাহারা তওবা করে ও নিজেদেরকে সংশোধন করিয়া নেয় তাহারা ব্যতিরেকে। নিশ্চয়ই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Except for those that repent (Even) after that, and make amends; for verily Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
ঈমান আনার পর যাহারা করে এবং যাহাদের সত্য প্রত্যাখ্যান - প্রবৃত্তি বৃদ্ধি পাইতে থাকে তাহাদের তওবা কখনও কবূল হইবে না। ইহারাই পথভ্রষ্ট।
But those who reject Faith after they accepted it, and then go on adding to their defiance of Faith, - never will their repentance be accepted; for they are those who have (of set purpose) gone astray.
Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
যাহারা করে এবং কাফিররূপে যাহাদের মৃত্যু ঘটে তাহাদের কাহারও নিকট হইতে পৃথিবীপূর্ণ স্বর্ণ বিনিময়স্বরূপ প্রদান করিলেও তাহা কখনও কবূল করা হইবে না। ইহারাই তাহারা যাহাদের জন্য মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি রহিয়াছে ; ইহাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী নাই।
As to those who reject Faith, and die rejecting, - never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains, though they should offer it for ransom. For such is (in store) a penalty grievous, and they will find no helpers.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ ٱفْتَدَىٰ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
তোমরা যাহা ভালবাস তাহা হইতে ব্যয় না করা পর্যন্ত তোমরা কখনও পুণ্য লাভ করিবে না।
By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well.
Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.
لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ
তাওরাত অবতীর্ণ হওয়ার পূর্বে ইসরাঈল নিজের জন্য যাহা হারাম করিয়াছিল তাহা ব্যতীত বনী ইস্রাঈলের জন্য যাবতীয় খাদ্যই হালাল ছিল। বল, ‘যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও তবে তাওরাত আন এবং পাঠ কর।’
All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel Made unlawful for itself, before the Law (of Moses) was revealed. Say: "Bring ye the Law and study it, if ye be men of truth."
All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muhammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful."
كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
ইহার পরও যাহারা সম্পর্কে মিথ্যা সৃষ্টি করে তাহরাই ।
If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to Allah, they are indeed unjust wrong - doers.
And whoever invents about Allah untruth after that - then those are [truly] the wrongdoers.
فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
বল, সত্য বলিয়াছেন। সুতরাং তোমরা একনিষ্ঠ ইব্রাহীমের ধর্মাদর্শ অনুসরণ কর, সে মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নহে।’
Say: "Allah speaketh the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans."
Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists."
قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
নিশ্চয়ই মানবজাতির জন্য সর্বপ্রথম যে গৃহ প্রতিষ্ঠিত হইয়াছিল তাহা তো বাক্কায়, উহা বরকতময় ও বিশ্বজগতের দিশারী।
The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings:
Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
উহাতে অনেক সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শন আছে, যেমন মাকামে ইব্রাহীম। আর যে কেহ সেখানে প্রবেশ করে সে নিরাপদ। মানুষের মধ্যে যাহার সেখানে যাওয়ার সামর্থ্য আছে, আল্লাহর উদ্দেশ্যে ঐ গৃহের হজ্জকরা তাহার অবশ্যকর্তব্য। এবং কেহ প্রত্যাখ্যান করিলে সে জানিয়া রাখুক, নিশ্চয়ই বিশ্বজগতের মুখাপেক্ষী নন।
In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah, - those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of His creatures.
In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.
فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِ
বল, ‘হে কিতাবীগণ ! তোমরা আল্লাহর নিদর্শনকে কেন প্রত্যাখ্যান কর? তোমরা যাহা কর উহার সাক্ষী’।
Say: "O People of the Book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, when Allah is Himself witness to all ye do?"
Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while Allah is Witness over what you do?"
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ
বল, ‘হে কিতাবীগণ! যে ব্যক্তি ঈমান আনিয়াছে তাহাকে কেন আল্লাহর পথে বাধা দিতেছ, উহাতে বক্রতা অন্বেষণ করিয়া? অথচ তোমরা সাক্ষী। তোমরা যাহা কর, সে সম্বন্ধে অনবহিত নন।’
Say: "O ye People of the Book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, Seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah's Covenant)? but Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do."
Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you avert from the way of Allah those who believe, seeking to make it [seem] deviant, while you are witnesses [to the truth]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do."
قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
হে মু’মিনগণ ! যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছে, তোমরা যদি তাহাদের দলবিশেষের আনুগত্য কর, তবে তাহারা তোমাদেরকে ঈমান আনার পর আবার বানাইয়া ছাড়িবে।
O ye who believe! If ye listen to a faction among the People of the Book, they would (indeed) render you apostates after ye have believed!
O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ
কিরূপে তোমরা সত্য প্রত্যাখ্যান করিবে যখন আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহ তোমাদের নিকট পঠিত হয় এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে তাঁহার রাসূল রহিয়াছে? কেহ আল্লাহকে দৃঢ়ভাবে অবলম্বন করিলে সে অবশ্যই সরল পথে পরিচালিত হইবে।
And how would ye deny Faith while unto you are rehearsed the Signs of Allah, and among you Lives the Messenger? Whoever holds firmly to Allah will be shown a way that is straight.
And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.
وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُۥ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِىَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা আল্লাহকে যথার্থভাবে ভয় কর এবং তোমরা আত্মসর্মপণকারী না হইয়া কোন অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করিও না।
O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
তোমরা সকলে আল্লাহর রজ্জু দৃঢ়ভাবে ধর এবং পরস্পর বিচ্ছিন্ন হইও না। তোমাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ স্মরণ কর : তোমরা ছিলে পরস্পর শত্রু এবং তিনি তোমাদের হৃদয়ে প্রীতির সঞ্চার করেন, ফলে তাঁহার অনুগ্রহে তোমরা পরস্পর ভাই হইয়া গেলে। তোমরা তো অগ্নিকুন্ডর প্রান্তে ছিলে, উহা হইতে তোমাদের রক্ষা করিয়াছেন। এইরূপে তোমাদের জন্য তাঁহার নিদর্শনসমূহ স্পষ্টভাবে বিবৃত করেন যাহাতে তোমরা সৎপথ পাইতে পার।
And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.
وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَ
তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন একদল হউক যাহারা কল্যাণের দিকে আহ্বান করিবে এবং সৎকর্মের নির্দেশ দিবে ও অসৎকর্মে নিষেধ করিবে; ইহারাই ।
Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.
And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the .
وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
তোমরা তাহাদের মত হইও না যাহারা তাহাদের নিকট স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন আসিবার পর বিচ্ছিন্ন হইয়াছে ও নিজেদের মধ্যে মতান্তর সৃষ্টি করিয়াছে। তাহাদের জন্য মহাশাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
Be not like those who are divided amongst themselves and fall into disputations after receiving Clear Signs: For them is a dreadful penalty, -
And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
সেদিন কতক মুখ উজ্জ্বল হইবে এবং কতক মুখ কাল হইবে; যাহাদের মুখ কাল হইবে তাহাদেরকে বলা হইবে, ‘ঈমান আনয়নের পর কি তোমরা করিয়াছিলে? সুতরাং তোমরা শাস্তি ভোগ কর, যেহেতু তোমরা করিতে।’
On the Day when some faces will be (lit up with) white, and some faces will be (in the gloom of) black: To those whose faces will be black, (will be said): "Did ye reject Faith after accepting it? Taste then the penalty for rejecting Faith."
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject."
يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
আর যাহাদের মুখ উজ্জ্বল হইবে তাহারা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহে থাকিবে, সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে।
But those whose faces will be (lit with) white, - they will be in (the light of) Allah's mercy: therein to dwell (for ever).
But as for those whose faces will turn white, [they will be] within the mercy of Allah. They will abide therein eternally.
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱبْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِى رَحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
এইগুলি আল্লাহর আয়াত, তোমার নিকট যথাযথভাবে তিলাওয়াত করিতেছি। বিশ্বজগতের প্রতি জুলুম করিতে চান না।
These are the Signs of Allah: We rehearse them to thee in Truth: And Allah means no injustice to any of His creatures.
These are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you, [O Muhammad], in truth; and Allah wants no injustice to the worlds.
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
আসমানে যাহা কিছু আছে ও যমীনে যাহা কিছু আছে সব আল্লাহরই; আল্লাহর নিকটই সব কিছু প্রত্যানীত হইবে।
To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: To Him do all questions go back (for decision).
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Allah will [all] matters be returned.
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ
তোমরাই শ্রেষ্ঠ উম্মত, মানবজাতির জন্য তোমাদের আবির্ভাব হইয়াছে; তোমরা সৎকাজের নির্দেশ দান কর, অসৎকাজে নিষেধ কর এবং আল্লাহর উপর বিশ্বাস কর। কিতাবীগণ যদি ঈমান আনিত তবে তাহাদের জন্য ভাল হইত। তাহাদের মধ্যে কিছুসংখ্যক আছে; কিন্তু তাহাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যত্যাগী।
Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.
You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَ
সামান্য ক্লেশ দেওয়া ছাড়া তাহারা তোমাদের কোন ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না। যদি তাহারা তোমাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে তবে তাহারা পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করিবে; অতঃপর তাহারা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত হইবে না।
They will do you no harm, barring a trifling annoyance; if they come out to fight you, they will show you their backs, and no help shall they get.
They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance. And if they fight you, they will show you their backs; then they will not be aided.
لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
আল্লাহর প্রতিশ্রুতি ও মানুষের প্রতিশ্রুতির বাহিরে যেখানেই তাহাদের পাওয়া গিয়াছে সেখানেই তাহারা লাঞ্ছিত হইয়াছে। তাহারা আল্লাহর ক্রোধের পাত্র হইয়াছে এবং হীনতাগ্রস্তহইয়াছে। ইহা এইহেতু যে, তাহারা আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহ প্রত্যাখ্যান করিত এবং অন্যায়ভাবে নবীগণকে হত্যা করিত; ইহা এইজন্য যে, তাহারা অবাধ্য হইয়াছিল এবং সীমালংঘন করিত।
Shame is pitched over them (Like a tent) wherever they are found, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allah and from men; they draw on themselves wrath from Allah, and pitched over them is (the tent of) destitution. This because they rejected the Signs of Allah, and slew the prophets in defiance of right; this because they rebelled and transgressed beyond bounds.
They have been put under humiliation [by Allah] wherever they are overtaken, except for a covenant from Allah and a rope from the Muslims. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allah and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in the verses of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.
ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْ
তাহারা সকলে এক রকম নয়। কিতাবীদের মধ্যে অবিচলিত একদল আছে ; তাহারা রাত্রিকালে আল্লাহর আয়াতসমূহ তিলাওয়াত করে এবং সিজদা করে।
Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allah all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.
They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].
لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
তাহারা এবং শেষ দিনে বিশ্বাস করে, সৎকাজের নির্দেশ দেয়, অসৎকাজে নিষেধ করে এবং তাহারা কল্যাণকর কাজে প্রতিযোগিতা করে। তাহারাই সজ্জনদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.
They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
উত্তম কাজের যাহা কিছু তাহারা করে তাহা হইতে তাহাদের কখনও বঞ্চিত করা হইবে না। মুত্তাকীদের সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them; for Allah knoweth well those that do right.
And whatever good they do - never will it be removed from them. And Allah is Knowing of the righteous.
وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
যাহারা করে তাহাদের ধনৈশ্বর্য ও সন্তান - সন্ততি আল্লাহর নিকট কখনও কোন কাজে আসিবে না। তাহারাই দোজখবাসী, সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে।
Those who reject Faith, - neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They will be companions of the Fire, - dwelling therein (for ever).
Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
এই পার্থিব জীবনে যাহা তাহারা ব্যয় করে তাহার দৃষ্টান্ত হিমশীতল বায়ু, উহা যে জাতি নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিয়াছে তাহাদের শস্যক্ষেত্রকে আঘাত করে ও বিনষ্ট করে। আল্লাহর তাহাদের প্রতি কোন জুলুম করেন নাই, তাহারাই নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করে।
What they spend in the life of this (material) world May be likened to a wind which brings a nipping frost: It strikes and destroys the harvest of men who have wronged their own souls: it is not Allah that hath wronged them, but they wrong themselves.
The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. And Allah has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves.
مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
হে মু’মিনগণ ! তোমাদের আপনজন ব্যতীত অপর কাহাকেও অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করিও না। তাহারা তোমাদের অনিষ্ট করিতে ত্রুটি করিবে না ; যাহা তোমাদের বিপন্ন করে তাহাই তাহারা কামনা করে। তাহাদের মুখে বিদ্বেষ প্রকাশ পায় এবং তাহাদের হৃদয় যাহা গোপন রাখে তাহা আরও গুরুতর। তোমাদের জন্য নিদর্শনসমূহ বিশদভাবে বিবৃত করিয়াছি, যদি তোমরা অনুধাবন কর।
O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom.
O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَد
দেখ, তোমরাই তাহাদের ভালবাস কিন্তু তাহারা তোমাদের ভালবাসে না অথচ তোমরা সমস্ত কিতাবে ঈমান রাখ আর তাহারা যখন তোমাদের সংস্পর্শে আসে তখন বলে, ‘আমরা বিশ্বাস করি ; কিন্তু তাহারা যখন একান্তেমিলিত হয় তখন তোমাদের প্রতি আক্রোশে তাহারা নিজেদের অঙ্গুলির অগ্রভাগ দাঁতে কাটিয়া থাকে। বল, ‘তোমাদের আক্রোশেই তোমরা মর।’ অন্তরে যাহা রহিয়াছে সে সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not, - though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."
Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts."
هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ ب
তোমাদের মঙ্গল হইলে উহা তাহাদেরকে কষ্ট দেয় আর তোমাদের অমঙ্গল হইলে তাহারা উহাতে আনন্দিত হয়। তোমরা যদি ধৈর্যশীল হও এবং হও তবে তাহাদের ষড়যন্ত্র তোমাদের কিছুই ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না। তাহারা যাহা করে নিশ্চয়ই তাহা পরিবেষ্টন করিয়া রহিয়াছেন।
If aught that is good befalls you, it grieves them; but if some misfortune overtakes you, they rejoice at it. But if ye are constant and do right, not the least harm will their cunning do to you; for Allah Compasseth round about all that they do.
If good touches you, it distresses them; but if harm strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah is encompassing of what they do.
إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
স্মরণ কর, যখন তুমি তোমার পরিজনবর্গের নিকট হইতে প্রত্যূষে বাহির হইয়া যুদ্ধের জন্য মু’মিনগণকে ঘাঁটিতে বিন্যস্ত করিতেছিলে এবং সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Remember that morning Thou didst leave Thy household (early) to post the faithful at their stations for battle: And Allah heareth and knoweth all things:
And [remember] when you, [O Muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uhud] - and Allah is Hearing and Knowing -
وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
যখন তোমাদের মধ্যে দুই দলের সাহস হারাইবার উপক্রমহইয়াছিল অথচ উভয়ের বন্ধু ছিলেন, আল্লাহর প্রতিই যেন মু’মিনগণ নির্ভর করে।
Remember two of your parties Meditated cowardice; but Allah was their protector, and in Allah should the faithful (Ever) put their trust.
When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their ally; and upon Allah the believers should rely.
إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
আর বদরের যুদ্ধে যখন তোমরা হীনবল ছিলে তো তোমাদের সাহায্য করিয়াছিলেন। সুতরাং তোমরা কে ভয় কর, যাহাতে তোমরাই কৃতজ্ঞ হইতে পার।
Allah had helped you at Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah; thus May ye show your gratitude.
And already had Allah given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah; perhaps you will be grateful.
وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
স্মরণ কর, যখন তুমি মু’মিনগণকে বলিতেছিলে, ‘ইহা কি তোমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট নয় যে, তোমাদের প্রতিপালক - প্রেরিত তিন সহস্র ফিরিশ্তা দ্বারা তোমাদেরকে সহায়তা করিবেন?’
Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: "Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?
[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?
إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ
হ্যাঁ, নিশ্চয়, যদি তোমরা ধৈর্য ধারণ কর এবং সাবধান হইয়া চল, তবে তাহারা দ্রুতগতিতে তোমাদের উপর আক্রমণ করিলে পাঁচ সহস্র চিহ্নিত ফিরিশ্তা দ্বারা তোমাদের সাহায্য করিবেন।
"Yea, - if ye remain firm, and act aright, even if the enemy should rush here on you in hot haste, your Lord would help you with five thousand angels Making a terrific onslaught.
Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]
بَلَىٰٓ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ
ইহা তো তোমাদের জন্য শুধু সুসংবাদ ও তোমাদের চিত্ত - প্রশান্তির জন্য করিয়াছেন এবং সাহায্য তো শুধু পরাক্রান্ত, প্রজ্ঞাময় আল্লাহর নিকট হইতেই হয়,
Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise:
And Allah made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise -
وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
কাফিরদের এক অংশকে নিশ্চিহ্ন করার জন্য অথবা লাঞ্ছিত করার জন্য; ফলে তাহারা নিরাশ হইয়া ফিরিয়া যায়।
That He might cut off a fringe of the Unbelievers or expose them to infamy, and they should then be turned back, frustrated of their purpose.
That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.
لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ
তিনি তাহাদের প্রতি ক্ষমাশীল হইবেন অথবা তাহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন - এই বিষয়ে তোমার করণীয় কিছুই নাই ; কারণ তাহারা তো ।
Not for thee, (but for Allah), is the decision: Whether He turn in mercy to them, or punish them; for they are indeed wrong - doers.
Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
আসমানে যাহা কিছু আছে ও যমীনে যাহা কিছু আছে সমস্ত আল্লাহরই তিনি যাহাকে ইচ্ছা ক্ষমা করেন এবং যাহাকে ইচ্ছা শাস্তি দান করেন। ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Merciful.
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
হে মু’মিনগণ ! তোমরা সুদ খাইও না ক্রমবর্ধমান এবং কে ভয় কর যাহাতে তোমরা হইতে পার।
O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah; that ye may (really) prosper.
O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be .
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَٰفًا مُّضَٰعَفَةً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
এবং তোমরা সেই অগ্নিকে ভয় কর যাহা কাফিরদের জন্য প্রস্তুত রাখা হইয়াছে।
Fear the Fire, which is repaired for those who reject Faith:
And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
তোমরা ও রাসূলের আনুগত্য কর যাহাতে তোমরা কৃপা লাভ করিতে পার।
And obey Allah and the Messenger; that ye may obtain mercy.
And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy.
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
তোমরা ধাবমান হও স্বীয় প্রতিপালকের ক্ষমার দিকে এবং সেই জান্নাতের দিকে যাহার বিস্তৃতি আসমান ও যমীনের ন্যায়, যাহা প্রস্তুত রাখা হইয়াছে মুত্তাকীদের জন্য,
Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous, -
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous
وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
যাহারা সচ্ছল ও অসচ্ছল অবস্থায় ব্যয় করে এবং যাহারা ক্রোধ সংবরণকারী এবং মানুষের প্রতি ক্ষমাশীল; সৎকর্ম পরায়ণদেরকে ভালবাসেন;
Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; - for Allah loves those who do good; -
Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good;
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
এবং যাহারা কোন অশ্লীল কাজ করিয়া ফেলিলে অথবা নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিলে কে স্মরণ করে এবং নিজেদের পাপের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করে। ব্যতীত কে পাপ ক্ষমা করিবে? এবং তাহারা যাহা করিয়া ফেলে, জানিয়া - শুনিয়া তাহার পুনরাবৃত্তি করে না।
And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, earnestly bring Allah to mind, and ask for forgiveness for their sins, - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done.
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُو
উহারাই তাহারা, যাহাদের পুরস্কার তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের ক্ষমা এবং জান্নাত, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত ; সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে এবং সৎকর্মশীলদের পুরস্কার কত উত্তম!
For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath, - an eternal dwelling: How excellent a recompense for those who work (and strive)!
Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ
তোমাদের পূর্বে বহু বিধান - ব্যবস্থা গত হইয়াছে, সুতরাং তোমরা পৃথিবী ভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ মিথ্যাশ্রয়ীদের কী পরিণাম !
Many were the Ways of Life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth.
Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied.
قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
ইহা মানবজাতির জন্য স্পষ্ট বর্ণনা এবং মুত্তাকীদের জন্য হিদায়াত ও উপদেশ।
Here is a plain statement to men, a guidance and instruction to those who fear Allah!
This [Qur'an] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah.
هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
তোমরা হীনবল হইও না এবং দুঃখিতও হইও না ; তোমরাই বিজয়ী যদি তোমরা হও।
So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith.
So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.
وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
যদি তোমাদের আঘাত লাগিয়া থাকে, অনুরূপ আঘাত তো উহাদেরও লাগিয়াছিল। মানুষের মধ্যে এই দিনগুলির পর্যায়ক্রমেআমি আবর্তন ঘটাই, যাহাতে মু’মিনগণকে জানিতে পারেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্য হইতে কতককে শহীদরূপে গ্রহণ করিতে পারেন এবং জালিমদের পসন্দ করেন না ;
If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr - witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.
If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers -
إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ
এবং যাহাতে মু’মিনদের পরিশোধন করিতে পারেন এবং কাফিরদের নিশ্চিহ্ন করিতে পারেন।
Allah's object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing Those that resist Faith.
And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers.
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
তোমরা কি মনে কর যে, তোমরা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করিবে, অথচ তোমাদের মধ্যে কে জিহাদ করিয়াছে আর কে ধৈর্যশীল তাহা এখনও প্রকাশ করেন নাই?
Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast?
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
মৃত্যুর সম্মুখীন হওয়ার পূর্বে তোমরা তো উহা কামনা করিতে, এখন তো তোমরা তাহা স্বচক্ষে দেখিলে।
Ye did indeed wish for death before ye met him: Now ye have seen him with your own eyes, (And ye flinch!)
And you had certainly wished for martyrdom before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on.
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ
মুহাম্মদ একজন রাসূল মাত্র ; তাহার পূর্বে বহু রাসূল গত হইয়াছে। সুতরাং যদি সে মারা যায় অথবা সে নিহত হয় তবে তোমরা কি পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করিবে? এবং কেহ পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করিলে সে কখনও আল্লাহর ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না; বরং শীঘ্রই কৃতজ্ঞদের পুরস্কৃত করিবেন।
Muhammad is no more than a messenger: many Were the messenger that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah; but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.
Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.
وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى
আল্লাহর অনুমতি ব্যতীত কাহারও মৃত্যু হইতে পারে না, যেহেতু উহার মেয়াদ অবধারিত। কেহ পার্থিব পুরস্কার চাহিলে আমি তাহাকে তাহার কিছু দেই এবং কেহ পারলৌকিক পুরস্কার চাহিলে আমি তাহাকে তাহার কিছু দেই এবং শীঘ্রই কৃতজ্ঞদের পুরস্কৃত করিব।
Nor can a soul die except by Allah's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude.
And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And we will reward the grateful.
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَٰبًا مُّؤَجَّلًا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِى ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
এবং কত নবী যুদ্ধ করিয়াছে, তাহাদের সঙ্গে বহু ওয়ালা ছিল। আল্লাহর পথে তাহাদের যে বিপর্যয় ঘটিয়াছিল তাহাতে তাহারা হীনবল হয় নাই, দুর্বল হয় নাই এবং নত হয় নাই। ধৈর্যশীলদের ভালবাসেন।
How many of the prophets fought (in Allah's way), and with them (fought) Large bands of godly men? but they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah's way, nor did they weaken (in will) nor give in. And Allah Loves those who are firm and steadfast.
And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast.
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِىٍّ قَٰتَلَ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا۟ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا۟ وَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
এই কথা ব্যতীত তাহাদের আর কোন কথা ছিল না, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদের পাপ এবং আমাদের কাজে সীমালংঘন তুমি ক্ষমা কর, আমাদের পা সুদৃঢ় রাখ এবং সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদেরকে সাহায্য কর।’
All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything We may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith."
And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."
وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
অতঃপর তাহাদেরকে পার্থিব পুরস্কার এবং উত্তম পারলৌকিক পুরস্কার দান করেন। সৎকর্মপরায়ণদেরকে ভালবাসেন।
And Allah gave them a reward in this world, and the excellent reward of the Hereafter. For Allah Loveth those who do good.
So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good.
فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
হে মু’মিনগণ ! যদি তোমরা কাফিরদের আনুগত্য কর তবে তাহারা তোমাদেরকে বিপরীত দিকে ফিরাইয়া দিবে এবং তোমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হইয়া পড়িবে।
O ye who believe! If ye obey the Unbelievers, they will drive you back on your heels, and ye will turn back (from Faith) to your own loss.
O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ
আল্লাহই তো তোমাদের অভিভাবক এবং তিনিই শ্রেষ্ঠ সাহায্য কারী।
Nay, Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
But Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.
بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ
আমি কাফিরদের হৃদয়ে ভীতির সঞ্চার করিব, যেহেতু তাহারা আল্লাহর সঙ্গে শরীক করিয়াছে, যাহার স্বপক্ষে কোন সনদ পাঠান নাই। জাহান্নাম তাহাদের আবাস; কত নিকৃষ্ট আবাসস্থল জালিমদের!
Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong - doers!
We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down [any] authority. And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.
سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
তোমাদের সঙ্গে তাঁহার প্রতিশ্রুতি পূর্ণ করিয়াছিলেন যখন তোমরা আল্লাহর অনুমতিক্রমে তাহাদেরকে বিনাশ করিতেছিলে, যে পর্যন্ত না তোমরা সাহস হারাইলে এবং নির্দেশ সম্বন্ধে মতভেদ সৃষ্টি করিলে এবং যাহা তোমরা ভালবাস তাহা তোমাদের দেখাইবার পর তোমরা অবাধ্য হইলে। তোমাদের কতক ইহকাল চাহিতেছিল এবং কতক পরকাল চাহিতেছিল। অতঃপর তিনি পরীক্ষা করার জন্য তোমাদেরকে তাহাদের হইতে ফিরাইয়া দিলেন। অবশ্যই তিনি তোমাদের ক্ষমা করিলেন এবং মু’মিনদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহশীল।
Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy, - until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Among you are some that hanker after this world and some that desire the Hereafter. Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you but He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.
And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers.
وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْ
স্মরণ কর, তোমরা যখন উপরের দিকে ছুটিতেছিলে এবং পিছন ফিরিয়া কাহারও প্রতি লক্ষ্য করিতেছিলে না, আর রাসূল তোমাদেরকে পিছন দিক হইতে আহ্বান করিতেছিল। ফলে তিনি তোমাদেরকে বিপদের উপর বিপদ দিলেন যাহাতে তোমরা যাহা হারাইয়াছ অথবা যে বিপদ তোমাদের উপর আসিয়াছে তাহার জন্য তোমরা দুঃখিত না হও। তোমরা যাহা কর তাহা বিশেষভাবে অবহিত।
Behold! ye were climbing up the high ground, without even casting a side glance at any one, and the Messenger in your rear was calling you back. There did Allah give you one distress after another by way of requital, to teach you not to grieve for (the booty) that had escaped you and for (the ill) that had befallen you. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do.
[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.
إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِىٓ أُخْرَىٰكُمْ فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ غَمًّۢا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِ
অতঃপর দুঃখের পর তিনি তোমাদেরকে প্রদান করিলেন প্রশান্তি তন্দ্রারূপে, যাহা তোমাদের একদলকে আচ্ছন্ন করিয়াছিল। এবং একদল জাহিলী যুগের অজ্ঞের ন্যায় সম্বন্ধে অবাস্তব ধারণা করিয়া নিজেরাই নিজেদেরকে উদ্বিগ্ন করিয়াছিল এই বলিয়া যে, ‘আমাদের কি কোন অধিকার আছে?’ বল, ‘সমস্ত বিষয় আল্লাহর ইখ্তিয়ার।’ যাহা তাহারা তোমার নিকট প্রকাশ করে না, তাহারা তাহাদের অন্তরে উহা গোপন রাখে, আর বলে, ‘এই ব্যাপারে আমাদের কোন অধিকার থাকিলে আমরা এই স্থানে নিহত হইতাম না।’ বল, ‘যদি তোমরা তোমাদের গৃহে অবস্থান করিতে তবুও নিহত হওয়া যাহাদের জন্য অবধারিত ছিল তাহারা নিজেদের মৃত্যুস্থানে বাহির হইত। ইহা এইজন্য যে, তোমাদের অন্তরে যাহা আছে তাহা পরীক্ষা করেন এবং তোমাদের অন্তরে যাহা আছে তাহা পরিশোধন করেন। অন্তরে যাহা আছে সে সম্পর্কে বিশেষভাবে অবহিত।
After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber, while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah - suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts.
Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allah." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, some of us would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.
ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ هَل
যেদিন দুই দল পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হইয়াছিল সেই দিন তোমাদের মধ্য হইতে যাহারা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করিয়াছিল, তাহাদের কোন কৃতকর্মের জন্য শয়তানই তাহাদের পদস্খলন ঘটাইয়াছিল। অবশ্য তাহাদের ক্ষমা করিয়াছেন। ক্ষমাপরায়ণ ও পরম সহনশীল।
Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts Met, - it was Satan who caused them to fail, because of some (evil) they had done. But Allah Has blotted out (their fault): For Allah is Oft - Forgiving, Most Forbearing.
Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met, it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা তাহাদের মত হইও না যাহারা করে এবং তাহাদের ভ্রাতাগণ যখন দেশে দেশে সফর করে অথবা যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত হয়, তাহাদের সম্পর্কে বলে, ‘তাহারা যদি আমাদের নিকট থাকিত তবে তাহারা মরিত না এবং নিহত হইত না।’ ফলে ইহাই তাহাদের মনস্তাপে পরিণত করেন ; আল্লাহ্ই জীবন দান করেন ও মৃত্যু ঘটান, তোমরা যাহা কর উহার সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye do.
O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight, "If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed," so Allah makes that [misconception] a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْع
তোমরা আল্লাহর পথে নিহত হইলে অথবা মৃত্যুবরণ করিলে, যাহা তাহারা জমা করে, আল্লাহর ক্ষমা এবং দয়া অবশ্য তাহা অপেক্ষা শ্রেয়।
And if ye are slain, or die, in the way of Allah, forgiveness and mercy from Allah are far better than all they could amass.
And if you are killed in the cause of Allah or die - then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than whatever they accumulate [in this world].
وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
এবং তোমাদের মৃত্যু হইলে অথবা তোমরা নিহত হইলে আল্লাহরই নিকট তোমাদেরকে একত্র করা হইবে।
And if ye die, or are slain, Lo! it is unto Allah that ye are brought together.
And whether you die or are killed, unto Allah you will be gathered.
وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
আল্লাহর দয়ায় তুমি তাহাদের প্রতি কোমল - হৃদয় হইয়াছিলে ; যদি তুমি রূঢ় ও কঠোরচিত্ত হইতে তবে তাহারা তোমার আশপাশ হইতে সরিয়া পড়িত। সুতরাং তুমি তাহাদের ক্ষমা কর এবং তাহাদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা কর এবং কাজেকর্মে তাহাদের সঙ্গে পরামর্শ কর, অতঃপর তুমি কোন সংকল্প করিলে আল্লাহর উপর নির্ভর করিবে, যাহারা নির্ভর করে তাহাদের ভালবাসেন।
It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them Wert thou severe or harsh - hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (Their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast Taken a decision put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).
So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].
فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَل
তোমাদের সাহায্য করিলে তোমাদের উপর জয়ী হইবার কেহই থাকিবে না। আর তিনি তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য না করিলে, তিনি ছাড়া কে এমন আছে, যে তোমাদের সাহায্য করিবে? মু’মিনগণ আল্লাহর উপরই নির্ভর করুক।
If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust.
If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.
إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
অন্যায়ভাবে কোন বস্তু গোপন করিবে, ইহা নবীর পক্ষে অসম্ভব। এবং কেহ অন্যায়ভাবে কিছু গোপন করিলে, যাহা সে অন্যায়ভাবে গোপন করিবে কিয়ামতের দিন সে তাহা লইয়া আসিবে। অতঃপর প্রত্যেককে, যাহা সে অর্জন করিয়াছে তাহা পূর্ণমাত্রায় দেওয়া হইবে। তাহাদের প্রতি কোন জুলুম করা হইবে না।
No prophet could (ever) be false to his trust. If any person is so false, He shall, on the Day of Judgment, restore what he misappropriated; then shall every soul receive its due, - whatever it earned, - and none shall be dealt with unjustly.
It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
যে আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির অনুসারী, সে কি উহার মত যে আল্লাহর ক্রোধের পাত্র হইয়াছে এবং জাহান্নামই যাহার আবাস? এবং উহা কত নিকৃষ্ট প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল !
Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell? - A woeful refuge!
So is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination.
أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
আল্লাহর নিকট তাহারা বিভিন্ন স্তরের; তাহারা যাহা করে তাহার সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
They are in varying gardens in the sight of Allah, and Allah sees well all that they do.
They are [varying] degrees in the sight of Allah, and Allah is Seeing of whatever they do.
هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
মু’মিনদের প্রতি অবশ্যই অনুগ্রহ করিয়াছেন যে, তিনি তাহাদের নিজেদের মধ্য হইতে তাহাদের নিকট রাসূল প্রেরণ করিয়াছেন, যে তাঁহার আয়াতসমূহ তাহাদের নিকট তিলাওয়াত করে, তাহাদেরকে পরিশোধন করে এবং কিতাব ও হিকমত শিক্ষা দেয়, যদিও তাহারা পূর্বে স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতেই ছিল।
Allah did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a messenger from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error.
Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.
لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى
কী ব্যাপার ! যখন তোমাদের উপর মুসীবত আসিল তখন তোমরা বলিলে, ‘ইহা কোথা হইতে আসিল?’ অথচ তোমরা তো দ্বিগুণ বিপদ ঘটাইয়াছিলে। বল, ‘ইহা তোমাদের নিজেদেরই নিকট হইতে’; নিশ্চয়ই সববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
What! When a single disaster smites you, although ye smote (your enemies) with one twice as great, do ye say? - "Whence is this?" Say (to them): "It is from yourselves: For Allah hath power over all things."
Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
أَوَلَمَّآ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَٰذَا قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
যেদিন দুই দল পরস্পরের সম্মুখীন হইয়াছিল, সেদিন তোমাদের উপর যে বিপর্যয় ঘটিয়াছিল তাহা আল্লাহরই হুকুমে; ইহা মু’মিনগণকে জানিবার জন্য।
What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers, -
And what struck you on the day the two armies met was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers.
وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
এবং মুনাফিকদেরকে জানিবার জন্য এবং তাহাদেরকে বলা হইয়াছিল, ‘আস, তোমরা আল্লাহর পথে যুদ্ধ কর অথবা প্রতিরোধ কর।’ তাহারা বলিয়াছিল, ‘যদি যুদ্ধ জানিতাম তবে নিশ্চিতভাবে তোমাদের অনুসরণ করিতাম।’ সেদিন তাহারা ঈমান অপেক্ষা কুফরীর নিকটতর ছিল। যাহা তাহাদের অন্তরে নাই তাহারা তাহা মুখে বলে; তাহারা যাহা গোপন রাখে তাহা বিশেষভাবে অবহিত।
And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal.
And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] fighting, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -
وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوِ ٱدْفَعُوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِي
যাহারা ঘরে বসিয়া রহিল এবং তাহাদের ভাইদের সম্বন্ধে বলিল, তাহারা আমাদের কথামত চলিলে নিহত হইত না, তাহাদেরকে বল, ‘যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও তবে নিজেদেরকে মৃত্যু হইতে রক্ষা কর।’
(They are) the ones that say, (of their brethren slain), while they themselves sit (at ease): "If only they had listened to us they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert death from your own selves, if ye speak the truth."
Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful."
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا۟ لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا۟ قُلْ فَٱدْرَءُوا۟ عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
যাহারা আল্লাহর পথে নিহত হইয়াছে তাহাদের কখনই মৃত মনে করিও না, বরং তাহারা জীবিত এবং তাহাদের প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে তাহারা জীবিকাপ্রাপ্ত।
Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;
And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
নিজ অনুগ্রহে তাহাদেরকে যাহা দিয়াছেন তাহাতে তাহারা আনন্দিত এবং তাহাদের পিছনে যাহারা এখনও তাহাদের সঙ্গে মিলিত হয় নাই তাহাদের জন্য আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে, এইজন্য যে, তাহাদের কোন ভয় নাই এবং তাহারা দুঃখিতও হইবে না।
They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah: And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve.
Rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them - that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
নিয়ামত ও অনুগ্রহের জন্য তাহারা আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে এবং ইহা এই কারণে যে, মু’মিনদের শ্রমফল নষ্ট করেন না।
They glory in the Grace and the bounty from Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be lost (in the least).
They receive good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty and [of the fact] that Allah does not allow the reward of believers to be lost -
يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
যখম হওয়ার পর যাহারা ও রাসূলের ডাকে সাড়া দিয়াছে তাহাদের মধ্যে যাহারা সৎকাজ করে এবং তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন করিয়া চলে তাহাদের জন্য মহাপুরস্কার রহিয়াছে।
Of those who answered the call of Allah and the Messenger, even after being wounded, those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward; -
Those [believers] who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them. For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward -
ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
ইহাদেরকে লোকে বলিয়াছিল, তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে লোক জমায়েত হইয়াছে, সুতরাং তোমরা তাহাদেরকে ভয় কর ; কিন্তু ইহা তাহাদের ঈমান দৃঢ়তর করিয়াছিল এবং তাহারা বলিয়াছিল, ‘ আল্লাহ্ই আমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট এবং তিনি কত উত্তম কমবিধায়ক!
Men said to them: "A great army is gathering against you": And frightened them: But it (only) increased their Faith: They said: "For us Allah sufficeth, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ
তারপর তাহারা আল্লাহর নিয়ামত ও অনুগ্রহসহ ফিরিয়া আসিয়াছিল, কোন অনিষ্ট তাহাদেরকে স্পর্শ করে নাই এবং যাহাতে রাযী তাহারা তাহারই অনুসরণ করিয়াছিল এবং মহানুগ্রহশীল।
And they returned with Grace and bounty from Allah: no harm ever touched them: For they followed the good pleasure of Allah: And Allah is the Lord of bounties unbounded.
So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ
ইহারাই শয়তান, তোমাদেরকে তাহার বন্ধুদের ভয় দেখায় ; সুতরাং যদি তোমরা হও তবে তোমরা তাহাদেরকে ভয় করিও না, আমাকেই ভয় কর।
It is only the Evil One that suggests to you the fear of his votaries: Be ye not afraid of them, but fear Me, if ye have Faith.
That is only Satan who frightens [you] of his supporters. So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [indeed] believers.
إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
যাহারা কুফরীতে ত্বরিতগতি, তাহাদের আচরণ যেন তোমাকে দুঃখ না দেয়। তাহারা কখনও কোন ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না। আখিরাতে তাহাদেরকে কোন অংশ দিবার ইচ্ছা করেন না, তাহাদের জন্য মহাশাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
Let not those grieve thee who rush headlong into Unbelief: Not the least harm will they do to Allah: Allah's plan is that He will give them no portion in the Hereafter, but a severe punishment.
And do not be grieved, [O Muhammad], by those who hasten into disbelief. Indeed, they will never harm Allah at all. Allah intends that He should give them no share in the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment.
وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
যাহারা ঈমানের বিনিময়ে ক্রয় করিয়াছে তাহারা কখনও আল্লাহর কোন ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না। তাহাদের জন্য যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
Those who purchase Unbelief at the price of faith, - not the least harm will they do to Allah, but they will have a grievous punishment.
Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange] for faith - never will they harm Allah at all, and for them is a painful punishment.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
কাফিররা যেন কিছুতেই মনে না করে যে, আমি অবকাশ দেই তাহাদের মঙ্গলের জন্য; আমি অবকাশ দিয়া থাকি যাহাতে তাহাদের পাপ বৃদ্ধি পায় এবং তাহাদের জন্য লাঞ্ছনাদায়ক শাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
Let not the Unbelievers think that our respite to them is good for themselves: We grant them respite that they may grow in their iniquity: But they will have a shameful punishment.
And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِثْمًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
অসৎকে সৎ হইতে পৃ ক না করা পর্যন্ততোমরা যে অবস্থায় রহিয়াছ মু’মিনগণকে সেই অবস্থায় ছাড়িয়া দিতে পারেন না। সম্পর্কে তোমাদেরকে অবহিত করিবার নহেন; তবে তাঁহার রাসূলগণের মধ্যে যাহাকে ইচ্ছা মনোনীত করেন। সুতরাং তোমরা ও তাঁহার রাসূলগণের উপর ঈমান আন। তোমরা ঈমান আনিলে ও তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন করিয়া চলিলে তোমাদের জন্য মহাপুরস্কার রহিয়াছে।
Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.
Allah would not leave the believers in that [state] you are in [presently] until He separates the evil from the good. Nor would Allah reveal to you the unseen. But [instead], Allah chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His messengers. And if you believe and fear Him, then for you is a great reward.
مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِه
আর নিজ অনুগ্রহে যাহা তাহাদের দিয়াছেন তাহাতে যাহারা কৃপণতা করে তাহাদের জন্য উহা মঙ্গল, ইহা যেন তাহারা কিছুতেই মনে না করে। না, ইহা তাহাদের জন্য অমঙ্গল। যাহাতে তাহারা কৃপণতা করিবে কিয়ামতের দিন উহাই তাহাদের গলায় বেড়ি হইবে। আসমান ও যমীনের স্বত্বাধিকার একমাত্র আল্লাহরই।তোমরা যাহা কর তাহা বিশেষভাবে অবহিত।
And let not those who covetously withhold of the gifts which Allah Hath given them of His Grace, think that it is good for them: Nay, it will be the worse for them: soon shall the things which they covetously withheld be tied to their necks Like a twisted collar, on the Day of Judgment. To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is well - acquainted with all that ye do.
And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.
وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَّهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰ
যাহারা বলে, ‘ অবশ্যই অভাবগ্রস্ত আর আমরা অভাবমুক্ত’, তাহাদের কথা শুনিয়াছেন। তাহারা যাহা বলিয়াছে তাহা এবং নবীগণকে অন্যায়ভাবে হত্যা করার বিষয় আমি লিখিয়া রাখিব এবং বলিব, ‘তোমরা দহন - যন্ত্রণা ভোগ কর।’
Allah hath heard the taunt of those who say: "Truly, Allah is indigent and we are rich!" - We shall certainly record their word and (their act) of slaying the prophets in defiance of right, and We shall say: "Taste ye the penalty of the Scorching Fire!
Allah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.
لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
ইহা তোমাদের কৃতকর্মের ফল এবং উহা এই কারণে যে, বান্দাদের প্রতি নন।
"This is because of the (unrighteous deeds) which your hands sent on before ye: For Allah never harms those who serve Him."
That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
যাহারা বলে, আমাদেরকে আদেশ দিয়াছেন, আমরা যেন কোন রাসূলের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন না করি যতক্ষণ পর্যন্তসে আমাদের নিকট এমন কুরবানী উপস্থিত না করিবে যাহা অগ্নি গ্রাস করিবে; তাহাদেরকে বল, ‘আমার পূর্বে অনেক রাসূল স্পষ্ট নিদর্শনসহ এবং তোমরা যাহা বলিতেছ তাহাসহ তোমাদের নিকট আসিয়াছিল, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও তবে কেন তাহাদেরকে হত্যা করিয়াছিলে?’
They (also) said: "Allah took our promise not to believe in an messenger unless He showed us a sacrifice consumed by Fire (From heaven)." Say: "There came to you messengers before me, with clear Signs and even with what ye ask for: why then did ye slay them, if ye speak the truth?"
[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"
ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ ف
তাহারা যদি তোমাকে অস্বীকার করে, তোমার পূর্বে যে সকল রাসূল স্পষ্ট নিদর্শন, আসমানী সহীফা এবং দীপ্তিমান কিতাবসহ আসিয়াছিল তাহাদেরকেও তো অস্বীকার করা হইয়াছিল।
Then if they reject thee, so were rejected messengers before thee, who came with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.
Then if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture.
فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ
জীবমাত্রই মৃত্যুর স্বাদ গ্রহণ করিবে। কিয়ামতের দিন তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের কর্মফল পূর্ণ মাত্রায় দেওয়া হইবে। যাহাকে অগ্নি হইতে দূরে রাখা হইবে এবং জান্নাতে দাখিল করা হইবে সে - ই এবং পার্থিব জীবন ছলনাময় ভোগ ব্যতীত কিছুই নয়।
Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception.
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ
তোমাদেরকে নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের ধনৈশ্বর্য ও জীবন সম্বন্ধে পরীক্ষা করা হইবে। তোমাদের পূর্বে যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছিল তাহাদের এবং মুশরিকদের নিকট হইতে তোমরা অনেক কষ্টদায়ক কথা শুনিবে। যদি তোমরা ধৈর্য ধারণ কর এবং তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন কর তবে নিশ্চয়ই উহা হইবে দৃঢ়সংকল্পের কাজ।
Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly Hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently, and guard against evil, - then that will be a determining factor in all affairs.
You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination.
لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًى كَثِيرًا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ع
স্মরণ কর, যাহাদেরকে কিতাব দেওয়া হইয়াছিল তাহাদের প্রতিশ্রুতি লইয়াছিলেন : ‘তোমরা উহা মানুষের নিকট স্পষ্টভাবে প্রকাশ করিবে এবং উহা গোপন করিবে না।’ ইহার পরও তাহারা উহা অগ্রাহ্য করে ও তুচ্ছ মূল্যে বিক্রয় করে ; সুতরাং তাহারা যাহা ক্রয় করে তাহা কত নিকৃষ্ট !
And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased.
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ
যাহারা নিজেরা যাহা করিয়াছে তাহাতে আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে এবং যাহা নিজেরা করে নাই এমন কাজের জন্য প্রশংসিত হইতে ভালবাসে, তাহারা শাস্তিহইতে মুক্তি পাইবে - এইরূপ তুমি কখনও মনে করিও না। তাহাদের জন্য মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি রহিয়াছে।
Think not that those who exult in what they have brought about, and love to be praised for what they have not done, - think escape the penalty. For them is a penalty Grievous indeed.
And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do - never think them [to be] in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment.
لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
আসমান ও যমীনের সার্বভৌম ক্ষমতা একমাত্র আল্লাহরই; সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
To Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and Allah hath power over all things.
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over all things competent.
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
নিশ্চয়ই আকাশমণ্ডল ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টিতে, দিবস ও রাত্রির পরিবর্তনে নিদর্শনাবলী রহিয়াছে বোধশক্তিসম্পন্ন লোকের জন্য।
Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, - there are indeed Signs for men of understanding, -
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.
إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
যাহারা দাঁড়াইয়া, বসিয়া ও শুইয়া আল্লাহকে স্মরণ করে এবং আকাশমণ্ডল ও পৃথিবীর সৃষ্টি সম্বন্ধে চিন্তকরে ও বলে, ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি ইহা নিরর্থক সৃষ্টি কর নাই, তুমি পবিত্র, তুমি আমাদেরকে দোজখের শাস্তি হইতে রক্ষা কর।
Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلًا سُبْحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! কাহাকেও তুমি দোজখে নিক্ষেপ করিলে তাহাকে তো তুমি নিশ্চয়ই লাঞ্ছিত করিলে এবং জালিমদের কোন সাহায্যকারী নাই;
"Our Lord! any whom Thou dost admit to the Fire, Truly Thou coverest with shame, and never will wrong - doers Find any helpers!
Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক ! আমরা এক আহ্বায়ককে ঈমানের দিকে আহ্বান করিতে শুনিয়াছি, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের প্রতি ঈমান আন।’ সুতরাং আমরা ঈমান আনিয়াছি। ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তুমি আমাদের পাপ ক্ষমা কর, আমাদের মন্দ কাজগুলি দূরীভূত কর এবং আমাদেরকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের সহগামী করিয়া মৃত্যু দিও।
"Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, 'Believe ye in the Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous.
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ
‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! তোমার রাসূলগণের মাধ্যমে আমাদেরকে যাহা দিতে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছ তাহা আমাদেরকে দাও এবং কিয়ামতের দিন আমাদেরকে হেয় করিও না। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি প্রতিশ্রুতির ব্যতিক্রম কর না।’
"Our Lord! Grant us what Thou didst promise unto us through Thine messengers, and save us from shame on the Day of Judgment: For Thou never breakest Thy promise."
Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise."
رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
অতঃপর তাহাদের প্রতিপালক তাহাদের ডাকে সাড়া দিয়া বলেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে কর্মনিষ্ঠ কোন নর অথবা নারীর কর্ম বিফল করি না ; তোমরা একে অপরের অংশ। সুতরাং যাহারা হিজরত করিয়াছে, নিজ গৃহ হইতে উৎখাত হইয়াছে, আমার পথে নির্যাতিত হইয়াছে এবং যুদ্ধ করিয়াছে ও নিহত হইয়াছে আমি তাহাদের পাপ কাজগুলি অবশ্যই দূরীভূত করিব এবং অবশ্যই তাহাদেরকে দাখিল করিব জান্নাতে, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। ইহা আল্লাহর নিকট হইতে পুরস্কার; উত্তম পুরস্কার আল্লাহরই নিকট।
And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: "Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain, - verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; - A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards."
And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated or were evicted from their homes or were harmed in My cause or fought or were killed - I will surely remove from them their misdeeds, and I will surely admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow as reward from Allah, and Allah has with Him the best reward."
فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ أَنِّى لَآ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَٰمِلٍ مِّنكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَأُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِى وَقَٰتَلُ
যাহারা করিয়াছে, দেশে দেশে তাহাদের অবাধ বিচরণ যেন কিছুতেই তোমাকে বিভ্রান্ত না করে।
Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through the land deceive thee:
Be not deceived by the [uninhibited] movement of the disbelievers throughout the land.
لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ
ইহা স্বল্পকালীন ভোগমাত্র; অতঃপর জাহান্নাম তাহাদের আবাস ; আর উহা কত নিকৃষ্ট ঠিকানা!
Little is it for enjoyment: Their ultimate abode is Hell: what an evil bed (To lie on)!
[It is but] a small enjoyment; then their [final] refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.
مَتَٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ
কিন্তু যাহারা তাহাদের প্রতিপালককে ভয় করে তাহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে জান্নাত, যাহার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে। ইহা আল্লাহর পক্ষ হইতে আতিথ্য;
On the other hand, for those who fear their Lord, are Gardens, with rivers flowing beneath; therein are they to dwell (for ever), - a gift from the presence of Allah; and that which is in the presence of Allah is the best (bliss) for the righteous.
But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allah. And that which is with Allah is best for the righteous.
لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّلْأَبْرَارِ
কিতাবীদের মধ্যে এমন লোক আছে যাহারা আল্লাহর প্রতি বিনয়াবনত হইয়া তাঁহার প্রতি এবং তিনি যাহা তোমাদের ও তাহাদের প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন তাহাতে অবশ্যই ঈমান আনে এবং আল্লাহর আয়াত তুচ্ছ মূল্যে বিক্রয় করে না; ইহারাই তাহারা যাহাদের জন্য আল্লাহর নিকট পুরস্কার রহিয়াছে। নিশ্চয় দ্রুত হিসাব গ্রহণকারী।
And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in Allah, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to Allah: They will not sell the Signs of Allah for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and Allah is swift in account.
And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah. They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَمَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَٰشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُم
হে ঈমানদারগণ ! তোমরা ধৈর্য ধারণ কর, ধৈর্যে প্রতিযোগিতা কর এবং সর্বদা যুদ্ধের জন্য প্রস্তুত থাক, কে ভয় কর যাহাতে তোমরা হইতে পার।
O ye who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah; that ye may prosper.
O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be .
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
