Chapter 46, 35 verses
Ha, Meem.
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
হা মীম!
The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
The revelation of the Book (this Qur'an) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
এ গ্রন্থের অবতারণ র কাছ থেকে, যিনি মহাশক্তিশালী, পরমজ্ঞানী।
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.
We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and for an appointed term. But those who disbelieve turn away from that whereof they are warned.
আমরা মহাকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবী এবং এ দুইয়ের মধ্যে যা - কিছু রয়েছে তা সত্যের সাথে এবং একটি নির্দিষ্ট কালের জন্য ছাড়া সৃষ্টি করি নি। কিন্তু যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা ফিরে দাঁড়ায় তা থেকে যে - সন্বন্ধে তাদের সতর্ক করা হয়।
Say, [O Muhammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to these pagans): "Think you about all that you invoke besides Allah? Show me. What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed before this), or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!"
তুমি বলো - - ''কে বাদ দিয়ে যাদের তোমরা ডাক তাদের কথা কি তোমরা ভেবে দেখেছ? পৃথিবীর কোন জিনিস তারা সৃষ্টি করেছে আমাকে দেখাও তো? অথবা তাদের কি কোনো অংশ আছে মহাকাশমন্ডলীতে? আমার কাছে এর আগের কোনো গ্রন্থ অথবা জ্ঞানের কোনো প্রামাণ্য চিহ নিয়ে এস, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও।’’
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.
And who is more astray than one who calls on (invokes) besides Allah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?
আর কে বেশি বিপথে গেছে তাদের চাইতে যারা কে বাদ দিয়ে তাকে ডাকে যে তাদের প্রতি সাড়া দেয় না কিয়ামতের দিন পর্যন্ত, আর তারা এদের আহ্বান সন্বন্ধেই বেখেয়াল থাকে?
And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.
And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping.
আর যখন মানবগোষ্ঠীকে সমবেত করা হবে তখন তারা তাদের শত্রু হয়ে দাঁড়াবে, আর তাদের যে উপাসনা করা হয়েছিল সে কথাতেই তারা অস্বীকারকারী হবে।
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say of the truth (this Qur'an) when it reaches them: "This is plain magic!"
আর যখন আমাদের সুস্পষ্ট বাণীসমূহ তাদের কাছে পঠিত হয় তখন যারা অবিশ্বাস করে তারা সত্য সন্বন্ধে বলে, যখন তা তাদের কাছে আসে - - ''এতো স্পষ্ট জাদু।’’
Or do they say, "He has invented it?" Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allah at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved. Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving the Merciful."
Or say they: "He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it? still you have no power to support me against Allah. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur'an)! Sufficient is He as a witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."
অথবা তারা বলে - - ''সে এটি জাল করেছে।’’ তুমি বলো - - ''আমি যদি এটি জাল করে থাকি তাহলে তোমরা তো র তরফ থেকে কিছুই আমার জন্য আয়ত্ত কর না। তিনি ভাল জানেন তোমরা এ বিষয়ে যা বলাবলি কর। তিনিই এ ব্যাপারে আমার মধ্যে ও তোমাদের মধ্যে সাক্ষী হিসেবে যথেষ্ট। আর তিনি পরিত্রাণকারী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।’’
Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allah i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."
তুমি বলো - - ''আমি রসূলগণের মধ্যে প্রারম্ভিক নই, আর আমি ধারণা করতে পারি না আমার প্রতি কি করা হবে এবং তোমাদের সম্পর্কেও নয়। আমি শুধু অনুসরণ করি আমার কাছে যা প্রত্যাদিষ্ট হয়েছে তা বৈ তো নয়, আর আমি একজন সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী ব্যতীত আর কিছুই নই।’’
Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'an) is from Allah and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel ('Abdullah bin Salam رضي الله عنه) testifies that [this Qur'an is from Allah (like the Taurat (Torah)], and he believed (embraced Islam) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily, Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers).
তুমি বলে যাও - - ''তোমরা কি ভেবে দেখেছ - - এটি যদি র কাছ থেকে হয়ে থাকে আর তোমরা এতে অবিশ্বাস কর, অথচ ইসরাইলের বংশধরদের থেকে একজন সাক্ষ্যদাতা তাঁর অনুরূপ সন্বন্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেন, ফলে তিনি বিশ্বাস করেন, কিন্তু তোমরা গর্ববোধ কর? নিঃসন্দেহ অন্যায়াচারী জাতিকে সৎপথে চালান না।
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."
And those who disbelieve (the strong and wealthy) say of those who believe (the weak and poor): "Had it (Islamic Monotheism to which Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is inviting mankind) been a good thing, they (the weak and poor) would not have preceded us thereto!" And when they have not let themselves be guided by it (this Qur'an), they say: "This is an ancient lie!"
আর যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে তারা তাদের সন্বন্ধে বলে যারা ঈমান এনেছে, ''এটি যদি ভাল হতো তাহলে তারা এর প্রতি আমাদের পাঠ শেখাত না।’’ আর যেহেতু তারা এর দ্বারা সৎপথের দিশা পায় নি তাই তারা তো বলবেই, ''এটি এক পুরনো মিথ্যা।’’
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.
And before this was the Scripture of Musa (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur'an) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinun (good-doers. See the footnote of V.9:120).
আর এর আগে ছিল মুসার গ্রন্থ - - অগ্রদূত ও করুণাস্বরূপ। আর এখানা হচ্ছে সত্যসমর্থনকারী কিতাব, আরবী ভাষায়, যেন এটি সতর্ক করতে পারে তাদের যারা অন্যায়াচরণ করছে, এবং সৎকর্মশীলদের জন্য হতে পারে সুসংবাদ স্বরূপ।
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is (only) Allah," and thereafter stand firm and straight on the Islamic Faith of Monotheism, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
নিঃসন্দেহ যারা বলে - - ''আমাদের প্রভু হচ্ছেন ’’, তারপর কায়েম থাকে, তাদের উপর তবে কোনো ভয় নেই, আর তারা নিজেরা অনুতাপও করবে না।
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.
Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever) - a reward for what they used to do.
এরাই হচ্ছে বেহেশতের বাসিন্দা, তাতেই তারা স্থায়ীভাবে থাকবে, - - তারা যা করে চলত সেজন্য এক প্রতিদান।
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."
And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)."
আর আমরা মানুষকে তার মাতাপিতার সম্পর্কে ভাল ব্যবহারের নির্দেশ দিয়েছি। তার মাতা কষ্ট করে তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছিলেন আর কষ্ট করে তাকে জন্ম দিয়েছিলেন। আর তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করতে ও তার লালন - পালনে লেগেছিল ত্রিশটি মাস। তারপর সে যখন তার যৌবনে পৌঁছে এবং চল্লিশ বছরে পৌঁছে যায় তখন সে বলে - - ''আমার প্রভু! তুমি আমাকে জাগরিত করো যেন আমি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাতে পারি তোমার সেই অনুগ্রহের জন্য যা তুমি অর্পণ করেছ আমার উপরে ও আমার মাতাপিতার উপরে, আর যেন আমি সৎকর্ম করতে পারি যা তোমাকে খুশি করে, আর আমার প্রতি কল্যাণ করো আমার সন্তানসন্ততিদের সম্পর্কে। আমি অবশ্যই তোমার দিকে ফিরেছি, আর আমি নিশ্চয় মুসলিমদের মধ্যেকার।’’
Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.
They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds. (They shall be) among the dwellers of Paradise - a promise of truth, which they have been promised.
এরাই তারা যাদের থেকে আমরা গ্রহণ করে থাকি তারা যা করেছিল তার শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং উপেক্ষা করি তাদের মন্দ কার্যাবলী - - জান্নাতের বাসিন্দাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। প্রামাণিক প্রতিশ্রুতি যা তাদের কাছে ওয়াদা করা হত।
But one who says to his parents, "Uff to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allah for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former people" -
But he who says to his parents: "Fie upon you both! Do you hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up (again) when generations before me have passed away (without rising)?" While they (father and mother) invoke Allah for help (and rebuke their son): "Woe to you! Believe! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true." But he says: "This is nothing but the tales of the ancient."
আর যে তার মাতাপিতাকে বলে - - ''ধুত্তোর তোমাদের জন্য! তোমরা কি আমাকে ভয় দেখাচ্ছ যে আমাকে বের করা হবে, অথচ আমার আগে বহু মানববংশ গত হয়েই গেছে? আর তারা দুজনে র সাহায্য কামনা করবে - - ''ধিক্ তোমার জন্য! ঈমান আনো, র ওয়াদা অবশ্যই সত্য।’’ কিন্তু সে বলে - - ''এতো অতীতকালের উপকথা ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়।’’
Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinn and mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers.
এরাই তারা যাদের উপরে উক্তি সত্য প্রতিপন্ন হয়েছে - - জিন ও মানুষের মধ্যের সেইসব সম্প্রদায়দের ক্ষেত্রে যারা তাদের আগে গত হয়ে গেছে। নিঃসন্দেহ তারাই তো ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.
And for all, there will be degrees according to that which they did, that He (Allah) may recompense them in full for their deeds. And they will not be wronged.
আর প্রত্যেকেরই জন্য রয়েছে তারা যা কাজ করেছে তার থেকে বহু স্তর, আর যেন তাদের ক্রিয়াকলাপের জন্য তিনি তাদের প্রতিফল দিতে পারেন, আর তাদের আদৌ অন্যায় করা হবে না।
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."
On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): "You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allah's Command (disobey Allah).
আর সেই দিন যারা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করেছিল তাদের সমাগত করা হবে আগুনের নিকটে, ''তোমরা তো তোমাদের ভাল জিনিসসব তোমাদের দুনিয়ার জীবনেই যেতে দিয়েছিলে, আর তোমরা সেখানে ভোগবিলাসই চেয়েছিলে, সুতরাং আজ তোমাদের প্রতিদান দেওয়া হবে এক লাঞ্ছনাকর শাস্তি, যেহেতু তোমরা দুনিয়াতে যথার্থ কারণ ব্যতীত বড়মানষি করতে, আর যেহেতু তোমরা সীমালংঘন করতে।’’
And mention, [O Muhammad], the brother of 'Aad, when he warned his people in the [region of] al - Ahqaf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allah. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
And remember (Hud) the brother of 'Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): "Worship none but Allah; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
আর তুমি স্মরণ কর 'আদ - দের ভাইকে। দেখো! তিনি তাঁর স্বজাতিকে সতর্ক করেছিলেন বালুর পাহাড় অঞ্চলে, আর সতর্ককারীরা তো তাঁর আগে ও তাঁর পরে গত হয়েই ছিলেন, এই বলে - - '' ছাড়া অন্যের উপাসনা করো না, আমি নিঃসন্দেহ তোমাদের উপরে এক ভয়ংকর দিনের শাস্তির আশংকা করছি।’’
They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."
They said: "Have you come to turn us away from our alihah (gods)? Then bring us that with which you threaten us, if you are one of the truthful!"
তারা বললে - - ''তুমি কি আমাদের কাছে এসেছ আমাদের দেবদেবীর থেকে আমাদের ফিরিয়ে রাখতে? তাহলে আমাদের কাছে নিয়ে এস তো যা দিয়ে তুমি আমাদের ভয় দেখাচ্ছ, - - যদি তুমি সত্যবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে থাক।’’
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allah, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."
He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only. And I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"
তিনি বলেছিলেন - - ''জ্ঞান তো রই কাছে রয়েছে, আর আমি তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছে দিচ্ছি যা দিয়ে আমাকে পাঠানো হয়েছে, কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের দেখতে পাচ্ছি মূর্খামি করছ এমন এক লোকদল।’’
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,
Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened - a wind wherein is a painful torment!
অতঃপর যখন তারা তা দেখতে পেল - - এক ঘন - মেঘ তাদের উপত্যকাগুলোর নিকটবর্তী হচ্ছে, তখন তারা বললে - - ''এ এক ঘন কালো মেঘ যা আমাদের জন্য বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করবে।’’ না, এ হচ্ছে যা তোমরা ত্বরান্বিত করতে চেয়েছিল, - - এ এক ঝড় - ঝা যাতে রয়েছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।’’
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.
Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners)!
এ তার প্রভুর নির্দেশে সব - কিছুই ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিল, ফলে অচিরেই তাদের ঘরবাড়ি ছাড়া আর কিছু দেখা যাচ্ছিল না। এইভাবেই আমরা প্রতিদান দিই অপরাধী লোকদের।
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts; but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayat (Allah's Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidence, verses, signs, revelations) of Allah, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!
আর আমরা তো তাদের যেমন প্রতিষ্ঠা করে দিয়েছিলাম তেমনভাবে তোমাদের আমরা প্রতিষ্ঠিত করি নি, আর আমরা তাদের দিয়েছিলাম শ্রবণেন্দ্রিয় ও দর্শনেন্দ্রিয় ও অন্তঃকরণ। কিন্তু তাদের শ্রবণেন্দ্রিয় তাদের কোনোভাবেই লাভবান করে নি, আর তাদের দর্শনেন্দ্রিয়ও না আর তাদের অন্তঃকরণও নয়, যেহেতু তারা র বাণীসমূহ নিয়ে বাজে বিতর্ক করত, কাজেই যা নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা - বিদ্রপ করত তাই তাদের পরিবেষ্টন করেছিল।
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].
And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) round about you, and We have (repeatedly) shown (them) the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in various ways that they might return (to the truth and believe in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism).
আর আমরা নিশ্চয় ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলাম জনপদগুলোকে যারা তোমাদের আশপাশে ছিল, আর আমার নির্দেশাবলী বারবার বিবৃত করেছি যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.
Then why did those whom they had taken for alihah (gods) besides Allah, as a way of approach (to Allah) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).
তাহলে কে বাদ দিয়ে যাদের তারা উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করেছিল সান্নিধ্য লাভের জন্য তারা কেন তাদের সাহায্য করল না? বস্তুতঃ তারা তাদের থেকে অন্তর্ধান করল, আর এটিই ছিল তাদের মিথ্যা এবং যা তারা উদ্ভাবন করত।
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.
And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) a group (three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur'an. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.
আর স্মরণ করো! আমরা তোমার কাছে জিনদের একদলকে ঝুঁকিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম যারা কুরআন শুনেছিল, তারপর তারা যখন এর সামনে হাজির হল, তারা বললে - - ''চুপ করো।’’ তারপর যখন তা শেষ করা হল, তারা তাদের স্বজাতির কাছে ফিরে গেল সতর্ককারীরূপে।
They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.
They said: "O our people! Verily, we have heard a Book (this Qur'an) sent down after Musa (Moses), confirming what came before it: it guides to the truth and to the Straight Path (i.e. Islam).
তারা বললে - - ''হে আমার স্বজাতি! নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা এমন এক গ্রন্থ শুনেছি যা মূসার পরে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, সমর্থন করছে এর আগে যেটি রয়েছে, আর পরিচালনা করছে সত্যের দিকে ও সহজ - সঠিক পন্থার দিকে।
O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.
O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allah's Caller (i.e. Allah's Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has brought from Allah and follow him). He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire)
''হে আমাদের স্বজাতি! সাড়া দাও র দিকে আহবায়কের প্রতি, আর তাঁর প্রতি ঈমান আনো, তিনি তোমাদের অপরাধগুলো থেকে তোমাদের পরিত্রাণ করবেন, আর তোমাদের রক্ষা করবেন মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি থেকে।’’
But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."
And whosoever does not respond to Allah's Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliya' (lords, helpers, supporters, protectors) for him besides Allah (from Allah's punishment). Those are in manifest error.
আর যে র আহবায়কের প্রতি সাড়া দেয় না, সে তবে পৃথিবীতে কিছুতেই এড়িয়ে যাবার পাত্র নয়, আর তাঁকে বাদ দিয়ে তার জন্য কোনো বন্ধুবান্ধবও থাকবে না। এরাই সুস্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছে।
Do they not see that Allah, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.
Do they not see that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and was not wearied by their creation, is Able to give life to the dead? Yes, He surely is Able to do all things.
তারা কি সত্যিই লক্ষ্য করে নি যে ই তিনি যিনি মহাকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করেছেন, এবং যিনি এ - সবের সৃষ্টিতে কোনো ক্লান্তি বোধ করেন নি, তিনিই তো মৃতকে জীবিত করতেও সক্ষম? হ্যাঁ, তিনি নিশ্চয়ই সব - কিছুর উপরে সর্বশক্তিমান।
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve."
And on the Day when those who disbelieve will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said to them): "Is this not the truth?" They will say: "Yes, By our Lord!" He will say: "Then taste the torment, because you used to disbelieve!"
আর যারা অবিশ্বাস করেছে তাদের সেইদিন আগুনের নিকটে উপস্থিত করা হবে। ''এইটি কি চরম - সত্য নয়?’’ তারা বলবে - - ''হাঁ, আমাদের প্রভুর কসম?’’ তিনি বলবেন - - ''তাহলে শাস্তিটা আস্বাদন কর, যেহেতু তোমরা অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করতে।’’
So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?
Therefore be patient (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as did the Messengers of strong will and be in no haste about them (disbelievers). On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! this Qur'an is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious against Allah's Command, the disobedient to Allah)?
অতএব তুমি ধৈর্যধারণ করো যেমন ধৈর্যধারণ করেছিলেন রসূলগণের মধ্যে যাঁরা ছিলেন দৃঢ় - প্রতিজ্ঞ, আর তাদের জন্য তাড়াহুড়ো করো না। তাদের যা ওয়াদা করা হয়েছিল তা যেদিন তারা দেখবে সেদিন তার যেন দিনমানের এক ঘড়ির বেশি অবস্থান করে নি। যথেষ্ট পৌঁছানো হয়েছে! সুতরাং সীমালংঘনকারী লোকদল ব্যতীত আর কাকেই বা বিধ্বংস করা হবে?
