Chapter 88, 26 verses

Saheeh International
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?
জহুরুল হক
তোমার কাছে কি বিহবলকর ঘটনার সংবাদ পৌঁছেছে?
Pickthall
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming ?
Arabic, with marks
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ
Saheeh International
[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,
জহুরুল হক
সেইদিন অনেক মুখ হবে অবনত,
Pickthall
On that day (many) faces will be downcast,
Arabic, with marks
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ
Saheeh International
Working [hard] and exhausted.
জহুরুল হক
পরিশ্রান্ত, অবসাদগ্রস্ত,
Pickthall
Toiling, weary,
Arabic, with marks
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ
Saheeh International
They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.
জহুরুল হক
প্রবেশমান হবে জ্বলন্ত আগুনে;
Pickthall
Scorched by burning fire,
Arabic, with marks
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً
Saheeh International
They will be given drink from a boiling spring.
জহুরুল হক
তাদের পান করানো হবে ফুটন্ত ফোয়ারা থেকে।
Pickthall
Drinking from a boiling spring,
Arabic, with marks
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ
Saheeh International
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant
জহুরুল হক
তাদের জন্য বিষাক্ত কাঁটাগাছ থেকে ছাড়া অন্য কোনো খাদ্য থাকবে না,
Pickthall
No food for them save bitter thorn - fruit
Arabic, with marks
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ
Saheeh International
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.
জহুরুল হক
তাদের নাদুসনুদুস বানাবে না এবং ক্ষুধাও মেটাবে না।
Pickthall
Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.
Arabic, with marks
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِن جُوعٍ
Saheeh International
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.
জহুরুল হক
সেইদিন অনেক মুখ হবে শান্ত,
Pickthall
In that day other faces will be calm,
Arabic, with marks
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ
Saheeh International
With their effort [they are] satisfied
জহুরুল হক
তাদের প্রচেষ্টার জন্য পরিতৃপ্ত,
Pickthall
Glad for their effort past,
Arabic, with marks
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ
Saheeh International
In an elevated garden,
জহুরুল হক
সমুচ্চ উদ্যানে,
Pickthall
In a high Garden
Arabic, with marks
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
Saheeh International
Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.
জহুরুল হক
সেখানে তুমি শুনবে না কোনো বাজে কথা।
Pickthall
Where they hear no idle speech,
Arabic, with marks
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً
Saheeh International
Within it is a flowing spring.
জহুরুল হক
সেখানে রয়েছে বহমান ঝরনা,
Pickthall
Wherein is a gushing spring,
Arabic, with marks
فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ
Saheeh International
Within it are couches raised high
জহুরুল হক
সেখানে আছে উঁচু সিংহাসন,

Wherein are couches raised
Arabic, with marks
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ
Saheeh International
And cups put in place
জহুরুল হক
আর পানপাত্রগুলো হাতের কাছে স্থাপিত,
Pickthall
And goblets set at hand
Arabic, with marks
وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ
Saheeh International
And cushions lined up
জহুরুল হক
আর তাকিয়াগুলো সারিসারি সাজানো,
Pickthall
And cushions ranged
Arabic, with marks
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ
Saheeh International
And carpets spread around.
জহুরুল হক
আর গালিচাসব বিছানো।
Pickthall
And silken carpets spread.
Arabic, with marks
وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ
Saheeh International
Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?
জহুরুল হক
তারা কি তবে ভেবে দেখে না উটের দিকে - - কেমন করে তাকে সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে,

Will they not regard the camels, how they are created ?
Arabic, with marks
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
Saheeh International
And at the sky - how it is raised?
জহুরুল হক
আর আকাশের দিকে - - কেমন করে তাকে তোলে রাখা হয়েছে।
Pickthall
And the heaven, how it is raised ?
Arabic, with marks
وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
Saheeh International
And at the mountains - how they are erected?
জহুরুল হক
আর পাহাড় - পর্বতের দিকে - - কেমন করে তাদের স্থাপন করা হয়েছে,
Pickthall
And the hills, how they are set up ?
Arabic, with marks
وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
Saheeh International
And at the earth - how it is spread out?
জহুরুল হক
আর এই পৃথিবীর দিকে - - কেমন করে তাকে প্রসারিত করা হয়েছে?
Pickthall
And the earth, how it is spread ?
Arabic, with marks
وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
Saheeh International
So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder.
জহুরুল হক
অতএব উপদেশ দিয়ে চলো, নিঃসন্দেহ তুমি তো একজন উপদেষ্টা।
Pickthall
Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer,
Arabic, with marks
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
Saheeh International
You are not over them a controller.
জহুরুল হক
তুমি তাদের উপরে আদৌ অধ্যক্ষ নও,

Thou art not at all a warder over them.
Arabic, with marks
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
Saheeh International
However, he who turns away and disbelieves -
জহুরুল হক
কিন্ত যে কেউ ফিরে যায় ও অবিশ্বাস পোষণ করে - -
Pickthall
But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,
Arabic, with marks
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
Saheeh International
Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.
জহুরুল হক
তখন তাকে শাস্তি দেবেন কঠিনতম শাস্তিতে।
Pickthall
Allah will punish him with direst punishment.
Arabic, with marks
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ
Saheeh International
Indeed, to Us is their return.
জহুরুল হক
নিঃসন্দেহ আমাদের কাছেই তাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন,
Pickthall
Lo! unto Us is their return
Arabic, with marks
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ
Saheeh International
Then indeed, upon Us is their account.
জহুরুল হক
অতঃপর আমাদের উপরেই তাদের হিসেব - নিকেশের ভার।
Pickthall
And Ours their reckoning.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
