Chapter 9, 129 verses
[This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists.
ইহা সম্পর্কচ্ছেদ ও তাঁহার রাসূলের পক্ষ হইতে সেই সমস্ত মুশরিকদের সঙ্গে যাহাদের সঙ্গে তোমরা পারস্পরিক চুক্তিতে আবদ্ধ হইয়াছিলে।
Freedom from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty.
بَرَآءَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.
অতঃপর তোমরা দেশে চার মাসকাল পরিভ্রমণ কর ও জানিয়া রাখ, তোমরা কে হীনবল করিতে পারিবে না এবং নিশ্চয়ই কাফিরদের লাঞ্ছিত করিয়া থাকেন।
Travel freely in the land four months, and know that ye cannot escape Allah and that Allah will confound the disbelievers (in His Guidance).
فَسِيحُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْزِى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And [it is] an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away - then know that you will not cause failure to Allah. And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.
মহান হজ্জের দিবসে ও তাঁহার রাসূলের পক্ষ হইতে মানুষের প্রতি ইহা এক ঘোষণা যে, নিশ্চয়ই মুশরিকদের সম্পর্কে দায়মুক্ত এবং তাঁহার রাসূলও। তোমরা যদি তওবা কর তবে তাহা তোমাদের জন্য কল্যাণকর। আর তোমরা যদি মুখ ফিরাও তবে জানিয়া রাখ, তোমরা কে হীনবল করিতে পারিবে না এবং কাফিরদের মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তির সংবাদ দাও,
And a proclamation from Allah and His messenger to all men on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage that Allah is free from obligation to the idolaters, and (so is) His messenger. So, if ye repent, it will be better for you; but if ye are averse, then know that ye cannot escape Allah. Give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom to those who disbelieve,
وَأَذَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَجِّ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُۥ فَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].
তবে মুশরিকদের মধ্যে যাহাদের সঙ্গে তোমরা চুক্তিতে আবদ্ধ ও পরে যাহারা তোমাদের চুক্তি রক্ষায় কোন ত্রুটি করে নাই এবং তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে কাহাকেও সাহায্য করে নাই, তাহাদের সঙ্গে নির্দিষ্ট মেয়াদ পর্যন্ত চুক্তি পূর্ণ করিবে। নিশ্চয়ই মুক্তকীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন।
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him).
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّم مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنقُصُوكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَمْ يُظَٰهِرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
অতঃপর নিষিদ্ধ মাসসমূহ অতিবাহিত হইলে মুশরিকদেরকে যেখানে পাইবে হত্যা করিবে, তাহাদেরকে বন্দী করিবে, অবরোধ করিবে এবং প্রত্যেক ঘাঁটিতে তাহাদের জন্য ওঁৎ পাতিয়া থাকিবে। কিন্তু যদি তাহারা তওবা করে, কায়েম করে ও যাকাত দেয় তবে তাহাদের পথ ছাড়িয়া দিবে; নিশ্চয়ই অতিশয় ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor - due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
فَإِذَا ٱنسَلَخَ ٱلْأَشْهُرُ ٱلْحُرُمُ فَٱقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱحْصُرُوهُمْ وَٱقْعُدُوا۟ لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍ فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know.
মুশরিকদের মধ্যে কেহ তোমার কাছে আশ্রয় প্রার্থনা করিলে তুমি তাহাকে আশ্রয় দিবে যাহাতে সে আল্লাহর বাণী শুনিতে পায় ; অতঃপর তাহাকে তাহার নিরাপদ স্থানে পৌঁছাইয়া দিবে; কারণ তাহারা অজ্ঞ লোক।
And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not.
وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ٱسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّىٰ يَسْمَعَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَهُۥ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ
How can there be for the polytheists a treaty in the sight of Allah and with His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a treaty at al - Masjid al - Haram? So as long as they are upright toward you, be upright toward them. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].
আল্লাহ্ও তাঁহার রাসূলের নিকট মুশরিকদের চুক্তি কি করিয়া বলবৎ থাকিবে? তবে যাহাদের সঙ্গে মসজিদুল হারামের সন্নিকটে তোমরা পারস্পরিক চুক্তিতে আবদ্ধ হইয়াছিলে, যাবৎ তাহারা তোমাদের চুক্তিতে স্থির থাকিবে তোমরাও তাহাদের চুক্তিতে স্থির থাকিবে; নিশ্চয়ই মুক্তাকীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন।
How can there be a treaty with Allah and with His messenger for the idolaters save those with whom ye made a treaty at the Inviolable Place of Worship ? So long as they are true to you, be true to them. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty.
كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعِندَ رَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ عَٰهَدتُّمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ فَمَا ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱسْتَقِيمُوا۟ لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّق
How [can there be a treaty] while, if they gain dominance over you, they do not observe concerning you any pact of kinship or covenant of protection? They satisfy you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse [compliance], and most of them are defiantly disobedient.
কেমন করিয়া থাকিবে? তাহারা যদি তোমাদের উপর জয়ী হয়, তবে তাহারা তোমাদের আত্মীয়তার ও অঙ্গীকারের কোন মর্যাদা দিবে না; তাহারা মুখে তোমাদেরকে সন্তুষ্ট রাখে; কিন্তু তাহাদের হৃদয় উহা অস্বীকার করে; তাহাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যত্যাগী।
How (can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you ? They satisfy you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are wrongdoers.
كَيْفَ وَإِن يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا۟ فِيكُمْ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً يُرْضُونَكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ
They have exchanged the signs of Allah for a small price and averted [people] from His way. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
তাহারা আয়াতসমূহ তুচ্ছ মূল্যে বিক্রয় করে এবং তাহারা লোকদেরকে তাঁহার পথ হইতে নিবৃত্ত করে; নিশ্চয়ই তাহারা যাহা করিয়া থাকে তাহা অতি নিকৃষ্ট!
They have purchased with the revelations of Allah a little gain, so they debar (men) from His way. Lo! evil is that which they are wont to do.
ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors.
তাহারা কোন মু’মিনের সঙ্গে আত্মীয়তার ও অঙ্গীকারের মর্যাদা রক্ষা করে না, তাহারাই সীমালংঘনকারী।
And they observe toward a believer neither pact nor honour. These are they who are transgressors.
لَا يَرْقُبُونَ فِى مُؤْمِنٍ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُعْتَدُونَ
But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know.
অতঃপর তাহারা যদি তওবা করে, কায়েম করে ও যাকাত দেয় তবে তাহারা তোমাদের দীনী ভাই ; জ্ঞানী সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য আমি নিদর্শন স্পষ্টরূপে বিবৃত করি।
But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor - due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge.
فَإِن تَابُوا۟ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَنُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease.
তাহাদের চুক্তির পর তাহারা যদি তাহাদের প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করে এবং তোমাদের দীন সম্বন্ধে বিদ্রুপ করে তবে কাফিরদের প্রধানদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ কর; ইহারা এমন লোক যাহাদের কোন প্রতিশ্রুতি রহিল না; যেন তাহারা নিবৃত্ত হয়।
And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist.
وَإِن نَّكَثُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَآ أَيْمَٰنَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنتَهُونَ
Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.
তোমরা কি সেই সম্প্রদায়ের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করিবে না, যাহারা নিজেদের প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করিয়াছে ও রাসূলকে বহিষ্কারের জন্য সংকল্প করিয়াছে? উহারাই প্রথম তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করিয়াছে। তোমরা কি তাহাদেরকে ভয় কর? ভয় করাই তোমাদের পক্ষে অধিক সমীচীন, যদি তোমরা হও।
Will ye not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first ? What! Fear ye them ? Now Allah hath more right that ye should fear Him, if ye are believers
أَلَا تُقَٰتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نَّكَثُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ وَهَمُّوا۟ بِإِخْرَاجِ ٱلرَّسُولِ وَهُم بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ فَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَوْهُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people
তোমরা তাহাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করিবে। তোমাদের হাতে উহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন, উহাদেরকে লাঞ্ছিত করিবেন, উহাদের উপর তোমাদেরকে বিজয়ী করিবেন ও মু’মিনদের চিত্ত প্রশান্ত করিবেন,
Fight them! Allah will chastise them at your hands, and He will lay them low and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of folk who are believers.
قَٰتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And remove the fury in the believers' hearts. And Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.
এবং তিনি উহাদের অন্তরের ক্ষোভ দূর করিবেন। যাহাকে ইচ্ছা তাহার প্রতি ক্ষমাপরায়ণ হন, সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
And He will remove the anger of their hearts. Allah relenteth toward whom He will. Allah is Knower, Wise.
وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَيَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Do you think that you will be left [as you are] while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who strive [for His cause] and do not take other than Allah, His Messenger and the believers as intimates? And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
তোমরা কি মনে কর যে, তোমাদেরকে এমনি ছাড়িয়া দেওয়া হইবে যখন পর্যন্ত না প্রকাশ করেন তোমাদের মধ্যে কাহারা মুজাহিদ এবং কাহারা তাঁহার রাসূল ও মু’মিনগণ ব্যতীত অন্য কাহাকেও অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করে নাই? তোমরা যাহা কর, সে সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Or deemed ye that ye would be left (in peace) when Allah yet knoweth not those of you who strive, choosing for familiar none save Allah and His messenger and the believers ? Allah is of what ye do.
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تُتْرَكُوا۟ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا رَسُولِهِۦ وَلَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَةً وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
It is not for the polytheists to maintain the mosques of Allah [while] witnessing against themselves with disbelief. [For] those, their deeds have become worthless, and in the Fire they will abide eternally.
মুশরিকরা যখন নিজেরাই নিজেদের স্বীকার করে তখন তাহারা আল্লাহর মসজিদের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করিবে - এমন হইতে পারে না। উহারা এমন, যাহাদের সমস্ত কর্ম ব্যর্থ হইয়াছে এবং উহারা দোজখেই স্থায়িভাবে অবস্থান করিবে।
It is not for the idolaters to tend Allah's sanctuaries, bearing witness against themselves of disbelief. As for such, their works are vain and in the Fire they will abide.
مَا كَانَ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يَعْمُرُوا۟ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّهِ شَٰهِدِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِم بِٱلْكُفْرِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ خَٰلِدُونَ
The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.
তাহারাই তো মসজিদের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করিবে, যাহারা ঈমান আনে ও আখিরাতে এবং কায়েম করে, যাকাত দেয় এবং ব্যতীত অন্য কাহাকেও ভয় করে না। অতএব আশা করা যায়, তাহারা হইবে সৎপথপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
He only shall tend Allah's sanctuaries who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor - due and feareth none save Allah. For such (only) is it possible that they can be of the rightly guided.
إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ فَعَسَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the maintenance of al - Masjid al - Haram equal to [the deeds of] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
হাজীদের জন্য পানি সরবরাহ এবং মসজিদুল হারামের রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ করাকে তোমরা কি তাহাদের পুণ্যের সমজ্ঞান কর, যাহারা ও আখিরাতে ঈমান আনে এবং পথে জিহাদ করে? নিকট উহারা সমতুল্য নয়। সম্প্রদায়কে সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
Count ye the slaking of a pilgrim's thirst and tendance of the Inviolable Place of Worship as (equal to the worth of) him who believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and striveth in the way of Allah ? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
أَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ ٱلْحَآجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَجَٰهَدَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَوُۥنَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ
The ones who have believed, emigrated and striven in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. And it is those who are the attainers [of success].
যাহারা ঈমান আনে, হিজরত করে এবং নিজেদের সম্পদ ও নিজেদের জীবন দ্বারা আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ করে তাহারা আল্লাহর নিকট মর্যাদায় শ্রেষ্ঠ, আর তাহারাই ।
Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in Allah's sight. These are they who are triumphant.
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Their Lord gives them good tidings of mercy from Him and approval and of gardens for them wherein is enduring pleasure.
উহাদের প্রতিপালক উহাদেরকে সুসংবাদ দিতেছেন স্বীয় দয়া ও সন্তোষের এবং জাবাতের, যেখানে আছে তাহাদের জন্য স্থায়ী সুখ - শান্তি।
Their Lord giveth them good tidings of mercy from Him, and acceptance, and Gardens where enduring pleasure will be theirs;
يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُم بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنْهُ وَرِضْوَٰنٍ وَجَنَّٰتٍ لَّهُمْ فِيهَا نَعِيمٌ مُّقِيمٌ
[They will be] abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has with Him a great reward.
সেখানে তাহারা চিরস্থায়ী হইবে। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহর নিকট আছে মহা পুরস্কার।
There they will abide for ever. Lo! with Allah there is immense reward.
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
O you who have believed, do not take your fathers or your brothers as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief. And whoever does so among you - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমাদের পিতা ও ভ্রাতা যদি ঈমানের মুকাবিলায় কুফরীকে শ্রেয় জ্ঞান করে, তবে উহাদেরকে অন্তরঙ্গরূপে গ্রহণ করিও না। তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা উহাদেরকে অন্তরঙ্গরূপে গ্রহণ করে, তাহারাই ।
O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong - doers.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَكُمْ وَإِخْوَٰنَكُمْ أَوْلِيَآءَ إِنِ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ عَلَى ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
Say, [O Muhammad], "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people."
বল, ‘তোমাদের নিকট যদি তাঁহার রাসূল এবং পথে জিহাদ করা অপেক্ষা অধিক প্রিয় হয় তোমাদের পিতা, তোমাদের সন্তান, তোমাদের ভাই, তোমাদের স্ত্রী, তোমাদের স্বগোষ্ঠী, তোমাদের অর্জিত সম্পদ, তোমাদের ব্যবসা - বাণিজ্য - যাহার মন্দা পড়ার আশংকা কর এবং তোমাদের বাসস্থান - যাহা তোমরা ভালবাস, তবে অপেক্ষা কর আল্লাহর নির্দেশ আসা পর্যন্ত।’ সত্যত্যাগী সম্প্রদায়কে সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
Say: If your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and your tribe, and the wealth ye have acquired, and merchandise for which ye fear that there will no sale, and dwellings ye desire are dearer to you than Allah and His messenger and striving in His way: then wait till Allah bringeth His command to pass. Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
قُلْ إِن كَانَ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَآؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلٌ ٱقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَٰرَةٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَٰكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَآ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ
Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.
তোমাদেরকে তো সাহায্য করিয়াছেন বহু ক্ষেত্রে এবং হুনায়নের যুদ্ধের দিনে যখন তোমাদেরকে উৎফুল্ল করিয়াছিল তোমাদের সংখ্যাধিক্য; কিন্তু উহা তোমাদের কোন কাজে আসে নাই এবং বিস্তৃত হওয়া সত্ত্বেও পৃথিবী তোমাদের জন্য সংকুচিত হইয়াছিল, পরে তোমরা পৃষ্ঠপ্রদর্শন করিয়া পলায়ন করিয়াছিলে।
Allah hath given you victory on many fields and on the day of Huneyn, when ye exulted in your multitude but it availed you naught, and the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for you; then ye turned back in flight;
لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُم مُّدْبِرِينَ
Then Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.
অতঃপর তাঁহার নিকট হইতে তাঁহার রাসূল ও মু’মিনদের উপর প্রশান্তি বর্ষণ করেন এবং এমন এক সৈন্যবাহিনী অবতীর্ণ করেন যাহা তোমরা দেখিতে পাও নাই এবং তিনি কাফিরদেরকে শাস্তি প্রদান করেন; ইহাই কাফিরদের কর্মফল।
Then Allah sent His peace of reassurance down upon His messenger and upon the believers, and sent down hosts ye could not see, and punished those who disbelieved. Such is the reward of disbelievers.
ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنزَلَ جُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا وَعَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Then Allah will accept repentance after that for whom He wills; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
ইহার পরও যাহার প্রতি ক্ষমাপরায়ণ হইবেন; অতি ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Then afterward Allah will relent toward whom He will; for Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al - Masjid al - Haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.
হে মু’মিনগণ! মুশরিকরা তো অপবিত্র; সুতরাং এই বৎসরের পর তাহারা যেন মসজিদুল হারামের নিকট না আসে। যদি তোমরা দারিদ্র্যের আশঙ্কা কর তবে আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা করিলে তাঁহার নিজ করুণায় তোমাদেরকে অভাবমুক্ত করিবেন। নিশ্চয়ই সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
O ye who believe! The idolaters only are unclean. So let them not come near the Inviolable Place of Worship after this their year. If ye fear poverty (from the loss of their merchandise) Allah shall preserve you of His bounty if He will. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلَا يَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ ٱلْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ إِن شَآءَ
Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
যাহাদের প্রতি কিতাব অবতীর্ণ হইয়াছে তাহাদের মধ্যে যাহারা প্রতি ঈমান আনে না, শেষদিনেও নয় এবং ও তাঁহার রাসূল যাহা হারাম করিয়াছেন তাহা হারাম গণ্য করে না এবং সত্য দীন অনুসরণ করে না, তাহাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করিবে, যে পর্যন্ত না তাহারা নত হইয়া স্বহস্তে জিযিয়া দেয়।
Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلْحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُ
The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
ইয়াহূদীরা বলে, ‘উযায়র আল্লাহর পুত্র’ এবং খ্রিস্টানরা বলে, ‘মসীহ্ আল্লাহর পুত্র।’ উহা তাহাদের মুখের কথা। পূর্বে যাহারা করিয়াছিল উহারা তাহাদের মত কথা বলে। উহাদেরকে ধ্বংস করুন। আর কোন্ দিকে উহাদেরকে ফিরাইয়া দেওয়া হইয়াছে!
And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!
وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ٱبْنُ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَى ٱلْمَسِيحُ ٱبْنُ ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ قَوْلُهُم بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ يُضَٰهِـُٔونَ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَ
They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.
তাহারা ব্যতীত তাহাদের পণ্ডিতগণকে ও সংসার - বিরাগিগণকে তাহাদের প্রভুরূপে গ্রহণ করিয়াছে এবং মারইয়াম - তনয় মসীহ্কেও। কিন্তু উহারা এক ইলাহের ‘ইবাদত করিবার জন্যই আদিষ্ট হইয়াছিল। তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই। তাহারা যাহাকে শরীক করে তাহা হইতে তিনি কত পবিত্র!
They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no God save Him. Be He Glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِ
They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.
তাহারা তাহাদের মুখের ফুৎকারে আল্লাহর জ্যোতি নির্বাপিত করিতে চায়। কাফিররা অপ্রতিকর মনে করিলেও তাঁহার জ্যোতির পূর্ণ উদ্ভাসন ব্যতীত অন্য কিছু চান না।
Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah disdaineth (aught) save that He shall perfect His light, however much the disbelievers are averse.
يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطْفِـُٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى ٱللَّهُ إِلَّآ أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it.
মুশরিকরা অপ্রীতিকর মনে করিলেও অপর সমস্ত দীনের উপর জয়যুক্ত করিবার জন্য তিনিই পথনির্দেশ ও সত্য দীনসহ তাঁহার রাসূল প্রেরণ করিয়াছেন।
He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the idolaters may be averse.
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ
O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment.
হে মু’মিনগণ! পণ্ডিত এবং সংসার বিরাগীদের মধ্যে অনেকেই লোকের ধন - সম্পদ অন্যায়ভাবে ভোগ করিয়া থাকে এবং লোককে পথ হইতে নিবৃত্ত করে। আর যাহারা স্বর্ণ ও রৌপ্য পুঞ্জীভূত করে এবং উহা আল্লাহর পথে ব্যয় করে না উহাদেরকে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তির সংবাদ দাও।
O ye who believe! Lo! many of the (Jewish) rabbis and the (Christian) monks devour the wealth of mankind wantonly and debar (men) from the way of Allah. They who hoard up gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah, unto them give tidings (O Muhammad) of a painful doom,
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْبَارِ وَٱلرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ ٱلذَّهَبَ وَٱلْفِضَّةَ وَلَا
The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard."
যেদিন জাহান্নামের অগ্নিতে উহা উত্তপ্ত করা হইবে এবং উহা দ্বারা তাহাদের ললাট, পার্শ্বদেশ ও পৃষ্ঠদেশে দাগ দেওয়া হইবে সেদিন বলা হইবে, ‘ইহাই উহা যাহা তোমরা নিজেদের জন্য পুঞ্জীভূত করিতে। সুতরাং তোমরা যাহা পুঞ্জীভূত করিয়াছিলে তাহা আস্বাদন কর।’
On the day when it will (all) be heated in the fire of hell, and their foreheads and their flanks and their backs will be branded therewith (and it will be said unto them): Here is that which ye hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what ye used to hoard.
يَوْمَ يُحْمَىٰ عَلَيْهَا فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَىٰ بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنُوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ هَٰذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ
Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].
নিশ্চয়ই আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টির দিন হইতেই বিধানে আল্লাহর নিকট মাস গণনায় মাস বারটি; তন্মধ্যে চারটি নিষিদ্ধ মাস, ইহাই সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত বিধান। সুতরাং ইহার মধ্যে তোমরা নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করিও না এবং তোমরা মুশরিকদের সঙ্গে সর্বাত্মকভাবে যুদ্ধ করিবে, যেমন তাহারা তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে সর্বাত্মকভাবে যুদ্ধ করিয়া থাকে। এবং জানিয়া রাখ, তো মুত্তাকীদের সঙ্গে আছেন।
Lo! the number of the months with Allah is twelve months by Allah's ordinance in the day that He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred: that is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves in them. And wage war on all of the idolaters as they are waging war on all of you. And know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
إِنَّ عِدَّةَ ٱلشُّهُورِ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ مِنْهَآ أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا۟ فِيهِنَّ أَنف
Indeed, the postponing [of restriction within sacred months] is an increase in disbelief by which those who have disbelieved are led [further] astray. They make it lawful one year and unlawful another year to correspond to the number made unlawful by Allah and [thus] make lawful what Allah has made unlawful. Made pleasing to them is the evil of their deeds; and Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.
এই যে মাসকে পিছাইয়া দেওয়া কেবল বৃদ্ধি করা, যাহা দ্বারা কাফিরদেরকে বিভ্রান্ত করা হয়। তাহারা উহাকে কোন বৎসর বৈধ করে এবং কোন বৎসর অবৈধ করে যাহাতে তাহারা যেইগুলিকে নিষিদ্ধ করিয়াছেন, সেইগুলির গণনা পূর্ণ করিতে পারে ; অনন্তর যাহা হারাম করিয়াছেন তাহা হালাল করিতে পারে। তাহাদের মন্দ কাজগুলি তাহাদের জন্য শোভনীয় করা হইয়াছে। সম্প্রদায়কে সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
Postponement (of a sacred month) is only an excess of disbelief whereby those who disbelieve are misled; they allow it one year and forbid it (another) year, that they may make up the number of the months which Allah hath hallowed, so that they allow that which Allah hath forbidden. The evil of their deeds is made fairseeming unto them. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.
إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّسِىٓءُ زِيَادَةٌ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ يُضَلُّ بِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُحِلُّونَهُۥ عَامًا وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُۥ عَامًا لِّيُوَاطِـُٔوا۟ عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ فَيُحِلُّوا۟ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ زُيِّنَ
O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little.
হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমাদের কী হইল যে, তোমাদেরকে যখন পথে অভিযানে বাহির হইতে বলা হয় তখন তোমরা ভারাক্রান্ত হইয়া ভূতলে ঝুঁকিয়া পড়? তোমরা কি আখিরাতের পরিবর্তে পার্থিব জীবনে পরিতুষ্ট হইয়াছ? আখিরাতের তুলনায় পার্থিব জীবনের ভোগের উপকরণ তো অকিঞ্চিৎকর!
O ye who believe! What aileth you that when it is said unto you: Go forth in the way of Allah, ye are bowed down to the ground with heaviness. Take ye pleasure in the life of the world rather than in the Hereafter ? The comfort of the life of the world is but little in the Hereafter.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ ٱنفِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَرَضِيتُم بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مِنَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ فَمَا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّ
If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all. And Allah is over all things competent.
যদি তোমরা অভিযানে বাহির না হও, তবে তিনি তোমাদেরকে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তিদিবেন এবং অপর জাতিকে তোমাদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত করিবেন এবং তোমরা তাঁহার কোনই ক্ষতি করিতে পারিবে না। সর্ববিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।
If ye go not forth He will afflict you with a painful doom, and will choose instead of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot harm Him at all. Allah is Able to do all things.
إِلَّا تَنفِرُوا۟ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْـًٔا وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
If you do not aid the Prophet - Allah has already aided him when those who disbelieved had driven him out [of Makkah] as one of two, when they were in the cave and he said to his companion, "Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us." And Allah sent down his tranquillity upon him and supported him with angels you did not see and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest, while the word of Allah - that is the highest. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
যদি তোমরা তাহাকে সাহায্য না কর, তবেআল্লাহ্ তো তাহাকে সাহায্য করিয়াছিলেন যখন কাফিররা তাহাকে বহিষ্কার করিয়াছিল এবং সে ছিল দুইজনের দ্বিতীয় জন, যখন তাহারা উভয়ে গুহার মধ্যে ছিল ; সে তখন তাহার সঙ্গীকে বলিয়াছিল, ‘বিষন্ন হইও না, তো আমাদের সঙ্গে আছেন।’ অতঃপর তাঁহার উপর তাঁহার প্রশান্তিবর্ষণ করেন এবং তাহাকে শক্তিশালী করেন এমন এক সৈন্যবাহিনী দ্বারা যাহা তোমরা দেখ নাই; এবং তিনি কাফিরদের কথা হেয় করেন। আল্লাহর কথাই সর্বোপরি এবং পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two; when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us. Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
إِلَّا تَنصُرُوهُ فَقَدْ نَصَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِذْ أَخْرَجَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ثَانِىَ ٱثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِى ٱلْغَارِ إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَنَا فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِين
Go forth, whether light or heavy, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah. That is better for you, if you only knew.
অভিযানে বাহির হইয়া পড়, হালকা অবস্থায় হউক অথবা ভারি অবস্থায়, এবং সংগ্রাম কর আল্লাহর পথে তোমাদের সম্পদ ও জীবন দ্বারা। উহাই তোমাদের জন্য শ্রেয়, যদি তোমরা জানিতে !
Go forth, light - armed and heavy - armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew.
ٱنفِرُوا۟ خِفَافًا وَثِقَالًا وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Had it been an easy gain and a moderate trip, the hypocrites would have followed you, but distant to them was the journey. And they will swear by Allah, "If we were able, we would have gone forth with you," destroying themselves [through false oaths], and Allah knows that indeed they are liars.
আশু সম্পদ লাভের সম্ভাবনা থাকিলে ও সফর সহজ হইলে উহারা নিশ্চয়ই তোমার অনুসরণ করিত; কিন্তু উহাদের নিকট যাত্রাপথ সুদীর্ঘ মনে হইল। উহারা অচিরেই নামে শপথ করিয়া বলিবে, ‘পারিলে আমরা নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের সঙ্গে বাহির হইতাম।’ উহারা নিজেদেরকেই ধ্বংস করে। জানেন উহারা অবশ্যই মিথ্যাচারী।
Had it been a near adventure and an easy journey they had followed thee, but the distance seemed too far for them. Yet will they swear by Allah (saying): If we had been able we would surely have set out with you. They destroy their souls, and Allah knoweth that they verily are liars.
لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضًا قَرِيبًا وَسَفَرًا قَاصِدًا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُ وَسَيَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَوِ ٱسْتَطَعْنَا لَخَرَجْنَا مَعَكُمْ يُهْلِكُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِ
May Allah pardon you, [O Muhammad]; why did you give them permission [to remain behind]? [You should not have] until it was evident to you who were truthful and you knew [who were] the liars.
তোমাকে ক্ষমা করিয়াছেন। কাহারা সত্যবাদী তাহা তোমার নিকট স্পষ্ট না হওয়া পর্যন্ত এবং কাহারা মিথ্যাবাদী তাহা না পর্যন্ত তুমি কেন উহাদেরকে অব্যাহতি দিলে?
Allah forgive thee (O Muhammad)! Wherefor didst thou grant them leave ere those who told the truth were manifest to thee and thou didst know the liars ?
عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنكَ لِمَ أَذِنتَ لَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَتَعْلَمَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day would not ask permission of you to be excused from striving with their wealth and their lives. And Allah is Knowing of those who fear Him.
যাহারা ও শেষ দিবসে ঈমান আনে তাহারা নিজ সম্পদ ও জীবন দ্বারা জিহাদে অব্যাহতি পাইবার প্রার্থনা তোমার নিকট করে না। মুক্তাকীদের সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day ask no leave of thee lest they should strive with their wealth and their lives. Allah is Aware of those who keep their duty (unto Him).
لَا يَسْتَـْٔذِنُكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ أَن يُجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Only those would ask permission of you who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and whose hearts have doubted, and they, in their doubt, are hesitating.
তোমার নিকট অব্যাহতি প্রার্থনা করে কেবল উহারাই যাহারা ও শেষ দিবসে ঈমান আনে না এবং যাহাদের চিত্ত সংশয়যুক্ত। উহারা তো আপন সংশয়ে দ্বিধাগ্রস্ত।
They alone ask leave of thee who believe not in Allah and the Last Day, and whose hearts feel doubt, so in their doubt they waver.
إِنَّمَا يَسْتَـْٔذِنُكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَٱرْتَابَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِى رَيْبِهِمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ
And if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it [some] preparation. But Allah disliked their being sent, so He kept them back, and they were told, "Remain [behind] with those who remain."
উহারা বাহির হইতে চাহিলে উহারা নিশ্চয়ই ইহার জন্য প্রস্তুতির ব্যবস্থা করিত, কিন্তু উহাদের অভিযাত্রা আল্লাহর মনঃ পূত ছিল না। সুতরাং তিনি উহাদেরকে বিরত রাখেন এবং উহাদেরকে বলা হয়, ‘যাহারা বসিয়া আছে তাহাদের সঙ্গে বসিয়া থাক।’ বলা হয়, ‘যাহারা বসিয়া আছে তাহাদের সঙ্গে বসিয়া থাক।’
And if they had wished to go forth they would assuredly have made ready some equipment, but Allah was averse to their being sent forth and held them back and it was said (unto them): Sit ye with the sedentary!
وَلَوْ أَرَادُوا۟ ٱلْخُرُوجَ لَأَعَدُّوا۟ لَهُۥ عُدَّةً وَلَٰكِن كَرِهَ ٱللَّهُ ٱنۢبِعَاثَهُمْ فَثَبَّطَهُمْ وَقِيلَ ٱقْعُدُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلْقَٰعِدِينَ
Had they gone forth with you, they would not have increased you except in confusion, and they would have been active among you, seeking [to cause] you fitnah. And among you are avid listeners to them. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
উহারা তোমাদের সঙ্গে বাহির হইলে তোমাদের বিভ্রান্তিই বৃদ্ধি করিত এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে ফিতনা সৃষ্টির উদ্দেশ্যে তোমাদের মধ্যে ছুটাছুটি করিত। তোমাদের মধ্যে উহাদের জন্য কথা উহারা তোমাদের সঙ্গে বাহির হইলে তোমাদের বিভ্রান্তিই বৃদ্ধি করিত এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে ফিতনা সৃষ্টির উদ্দেশ্যে তোমাদের মধ্যে ছুটাছুটি করিত। তোমাদের মধ্যে উহাদের জন্য কথা শুনিবার লোক আছে। জালিমদের সম্বন্ধে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
Had they gone forth among you they had added to you naught save trouble and had hurried to and fro among you, seeking to cause sedition among you; and among you there are some who would have listened to them. Allah is Aware of evil - doers.
لَوْ خَرَجُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا زَادُوكُمْ إِلَّا خَبَالًا وَلَأَوْضَعُوا۟ خِلَٰلَكُمْ يَبْغُونَكُمُ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ وَفِيكُمْ سَمَّٰعُونَ لَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
They had already desired dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance of Allah appeared, while they were averse.
পূর্বেও উহারা ফিত্না সৃষ্টি করিতে চাহিয়াছিল এবং উহারা তোমার বহু কর্মে উলট - পালট করিয়াছিল যতক্ষণ না উহাদের ইচ্ছার বিরুদ্ধে সত্য আসিল এবং আল্লাহর আদেশ বিজয়ী হইল।
Aforetime they sought to cause sedition and raised difficulties for thee till the Truth came and the decree of Allah was made manifest, though they were loth.
لَقَدِ ٱبْتَغَوُا۟ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ مِن قَبْلُ وَقَلَّبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأُمُورَ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَظَهَرَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَهُمْ كَٰرِهُونَ
And among them is he who says, "Permit me [to remain at home] and do not put me to trial." Unquestionably, into trial they have fallen. And indeed, Hell will encompass the disbelievers.
এবং উহাদের মধ্যে এমন লোক আছে যে বলে, ‘আমাকে অব্যাহতি দাও এবং আমাকে ফিত্নায় ফেলিও না।’ সাবধান! উহারাই ফিতনাতে পড়িয়া আছে। জাহান্নাম তো কাফিরদেরকে বেষ্টন করিয়াই আছে।
Of them is he who saith: Grant me leave (to stay at home) and tempt me not. Surely it is into temptation that they (thus) have fallen. Lo! hell verily is all around the disbelievers.
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ ٱئْذَن لِّى وَلَا تَفْتِنِّىٓ أَلَا فِى ٱلْفِتْنَةِ سَقَطُوا۟ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
If good befalls you, it distresses them; but if disaster strikes you, they say, "We took our matter [in hand] before," and turn away while they are rejoicing.
তোমার মঙ্গল হইলে তাহা উহাদেরকে পীড়া দেয় এবং তোমার বিপদ ঘটিলে উহারা বলে, ‘আমরা তো পূর্বাহেড়বই আমাদের ব্যাপারে সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করিয়াছিলাম’ এবং উহারা উৎফুল্লাচিত্তে সরিয়া পড়ে।
If good befalleth thee (O Muhammad) it afflicteth them, and if calamity befalleth thee, they say: We took precaution, and they turn away well pleased.
إِن تُصِبْكَ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكَ مُصِيبَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ قَدْ أَخَذْنَآ أَمْرَنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَيَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّهُمْ فَرِحُونَ
Say, "Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector." And upon Allah let the believers rely.
বল, ‘আমাদের জন্য যাহা নির্দিষ্ট করিয়াছেন তাহা ব্যতীত আমাদের অন্য কিছু হইবে না; তিনি আমাদের কর্মবিধায়ক এবং আল্লাহর উপরই মু’মিনদের নির্ভর করা উচিত।’
Say: Naught befalleth us save that which Allah hath decreed for us. He is our Protecting Friend. In Allah let believers put their trust!
قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَآ إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَىٰنَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Say, "Do you await for us except one of the two best things while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands? So wait; indeed we, along with you, are waiting."
বল, ‘তোমরা আমাদের দুইটি মঙ্গলের একটির প্রতীক্ষা করিতেছ এবং আমরা প্রতীক্ষা করিতেছি, তোমাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন সরাসরি নিজ পক্ষ হইতে অথবা আমাদের হস্ত দ্বারা। অতএব তোমরা প্রতীক্ষা কর, আমরাও তোমাদের সঙ্গে প্রতীক্ষা করিতেছি।
Say: Can ye await for us aught save one of two good things (death or victory in Allah's way) ? while we await for you that Allah will afflict you with a doom from Him or at our hands. Await then! Lo! We are awaiting with you.
قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَآ إِلَّآ إِحْدَى ٱلْحُسْنَيَيْنِ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَن يُصِيبَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِّنْ عِندِهِۦٓ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا فَتَرَبَّصُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّتَرَبِّصُونَ
Say, "Spend willingly or unwillingly; never will it be accepted from you. Indeed, you have been a defiantly disobedient people."
বল, ‘তোমরা স্বেচ্ছায় ব্যয় কর অথবা অনিচ্ছায়, তোমাদের নিকট হইতে তাহা কিছুতেই গৃহীত হইবে না ; তোমরা তো সত্যত্যাগী সম্প্রদায়।’
Say: Pay (your contribution), willingly or unwillingly, it will not be accepted from you. Lo! ye were ever froward folk.
قُلْ أَنفِقُوا۟ طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا لَّن يُتَقَبَّلَ مِنكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا فَٰسِقِينَ
And what prevents their expenditures from being accepted from them but that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger and that they come not to prayer except while they are lazy and that they do not spend except while they are unwilling.
উহাদের অর্থসাহায্য গ্রহণ করা নিষেধ করা হইয়াছে এইজন্য যে, উহারা ও তাঁহার রাসূলকে অস্বীকার করে, সালাতে শৈথিল্যের সঙ্গে উপস্থিত হয় এবং অনিচ্ছাকৃতভাবে অর্থ সাহায্য করে।
And naught preventeth that their contributions should be accepted from them save that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His messenger, and they come not to worship save as idlers, and pay not (their contribution) save reluctantly.
وَمَا مَنَعَهُمْ أَن تُقْبَلَ مِنْهُمْ نَفَقَٰتُهُمْ إِلَّآ أَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كُسَالَىٰ وَلَا يُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كَٰرِهُونَ
So let not their wealth or their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through them in worldly life and that their souls should depart [at death] while they are disbelievers.
সুতরাং উহাদের সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি তোমাকে যেন বিমুগ্ধ না করে, তো উহার দ্বারাই উহাদেরকে পার্থিব জীবনে শাস্তিদিতে চান। উহারা থাকা অবস্থায় উহাদের আত্বারদেহ ত্যাগ করিবে।
So let not their riches nor their children please thee (O Muhammad). Allah thereby intendeth but to punish them in the life of the world and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers.
فَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
And they swear by Allah that they are from among you while they are not from among you; but they are a people who are afraid.
উহারা আল্লাহর নামে শপথ করে যে, উহারা তোমাদেরই অন্তর্ভুক্ত, কিন্তু উহারা তোমাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নয়, বস্তুত উহারা এমন এক সম্প্রদায় যাহারা ভয় করিয়া থাকে।
And they swear by Allah that they are in truth of you, when they are not of you, but they are folk who are afraid.
وَيَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُمْ لَمِنكُمْ وَمَا هُم مِّنكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ يَفْرَقُونَ
If they could find a refuge or some caves or any place to enter [and hide], they would turn to it while they run heedlessly.
উহারা কোন আশ্রয়স্থল, কোন গিরিগুহা অথবা কোন প্রবেশস্থল পাইলে উহার দিকে পলায়ন করিবে ক্ষিপ্রগতিতে।
Had they but found a refuge, or caverns, or a place to enter, they surely had resorted thither swift as runaways.
لَوْ يَجِدُونَ مَلْجَـًٔا أَوْ مَغَٰرَٰتٍ أَوْ مُدَّخَلًا لَّوَلَّوْا۟ إِلَيْهِ وَهُمْ يَجْمَحُونَ
And among them are some who criticize you concerning the [distribution of] charities. If they are given from them, they approve; but if they are not given from them, at once they become angry.
উহাদের মধ্যে এমন লোক আছে, যে সাদাকা বণ্টন সম্পর্কে তোমাকে দোষারোপ করে ; অতঃপর ইহার কিছু উহাদেরকে দেওয়া হইলে উহারা পরিতুষ্ট হয়, আর ইহার কিছু উহাদেরকে না দেওয়া হইলে তৎক্ষণাৎ উহারা বিক্ষুব্ধ হয়।
And of them is he who defameth thee in the matter of the alms. If they are given thereof they are content, and if they are not given thereof, behold! they are enraged.
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَلْمِزُكَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا۟ مِنْهَا رَضُوا۟ وَإِن لَّمْ يُعْطَوْا۟ مِنْهَآ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ
If only they had been satisfied with what Allah and His Messenger gave them and said, "Sufficient for us is Allah; Allah will give us of His bounty, and [so will] His Messenger; indeed, we are desirous toward Allah," [it would have been better for them].
ভাল হইত যদি উহারা ও তাঁহার রাসূল উহাদেরকে যাহা দিয়াছেন তাহাতে পরিতুষ্ট হইত এবং বলিত, আমাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট, অচিরেই আমাদেরকে দিবেন নিজ করুণায় এবং তাঁহার রাসূলও; আমরা আল্লাহরই প্রতি অনুরক্ত।
(How much more seemly) had they been content with that which Allah and His messenger had given them and had said: Allah sufficeth us. Allah will give us of His bounty, and (also) His messenger. Unto Allah we are suppliants.
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ رَضُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ سَيُؤْتِينَا ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ رَٰغِبُونَ
Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
সাদাকা তো কেবল নিঃস্ব, অভাবগ্রস্তও তৎসংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মচারীদের জন্য, যাহাদের চিত্ত আকর্ষণ করা হয় তাহাদের জন্য, দাসমুক্তির জন্য, ঋণ ভারাক্রান্তদের, আল্লাহর পথে ও মুসাফিরদের জন্য। ইহা আল্লাহর বিধান। সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
The alms are only for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and to free the captives and the debtors, and for the cause of Allah, and (for) the wayfarer; a duty imposed by Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise.
إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلْفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَٱلْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلْغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ
And among them are those who abuse the Prophet and say, "He is an ear." Say, "[It is] an ear of goodness for you that believes in Allah and believes the believers and [is] a mercy to those who believe among you." And those who abuse the Messenger of Allah - for them is a painful punishment.
এবং উহাদের মধ্যে এমনও লোক আছে যাহারা নবীকে ক্লেশ দেয় এবং বলে, ‘সে তো কর্ণপাতকারী।’ বল, ‘তাহার কান তোমাদের জন্য যাহা মঙ্গল তাহাই শুনে।’ সে ঈমান আনে এবং মু’মিনদেরকে বিশ্বাস করে ; তোমাদের মধ্যে যাহারা সে তাহাদের জন্য রহমত এবং যাহারা আল্লাহর রাসূলকে ক্লেশ দেয় তাহাদের জন্য আছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
And of them are those who vex the Prophet and say: He is only a hearer. Say: A hearer of good for you, who believeth in Allah and is true to the believers, and a mercy for such of you as believe. Those who vex the messenger of Allah, for them there is a painful doom.
وَمِنْهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ أُذُنٌ قُلْ أُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَّكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ رَسُولَ
They swear by Allah to you [Muslims] to satisfy you. But Allah and His Messenger are more worthy for them to satisfy, if they should be believers.
উহারা তোমাদেরকে সন্তুষ্ট করিবার জন্য তোমাদের নিকট আল্লাহর শপথ করে। ও তাঁহার রাসূল ইহারই অধিক হকদার যে, উহারা তাহাদেরকেই সন্তুষ্ট করে, যদি উহারা হয়।
They swear by Allah to you (Muslims) to please you, but Allah, with His messenger, hath more right that they should please Him if they are believers.
يَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ لِيُرْضُوكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ أَحَقُّ أَن يُرْضُوهُ إِن كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Do they not know that whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger - that for him is the fire of Hell, wherein he will abide eternally? That is the great disgrace.
উহারা কি জানে না, যে ব্যক্তি ও তাঁহার রাসূলের বিরোধিতা করে তাহার জন্য তো আছে জাহান্নামের অগ্নি, যেখানে সে স্থায়ী হইবে? উহাই চরম লাঞ্ছনা।
Know they not that whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, his verily is fire of hell, to abide therein ? That is the extreme abasement.
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ مَن يُحَادِدِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَأَنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدًا فِيهَا ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخِزْىُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
They hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will expose that which you fear."
মুনাফিকেরা ভয় করে, তাহাদের সম্পর্কে এমন এক সূরা না অবতীর্ণ হয়, যাহা উহাদের অন্তরের কথা ব্যক্ত করিয়া দিবে ! বল, ‘বিদ্রুপ করিতে থাক ; তোমরা যাহা ভয় কর তাহা প্রকাশ করিয়া দিবেন।’
The hypocrites fear lest a surah should be revealed concerning them, proclaiming what is in their hearts. Say: Scoff (your fill)! Lo! Allah is disclosing what ye fear.
يَحْذَرُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ أَن تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ قُلِ ٱسْتَهْزِءُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُونَ
And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?"
এবং তুমি উহাদেরকে প্রশ্ন করিলে উহারা নিশ্চয়ই বলিবে, ‘আমরা তো আলাপ - আলোচনা ও ক্রীড়া - কৌতুক করিতেছিলাম।’ বল, ‘তোমরা কি তাঁহার নিদর্শন ও তাঁহার রাসূলকে বিদ্রুপ করিতেছিলে?’
And if thou ask them (O Muhammad) they will say: We did but talk and jest. Say: Was it at Allah and His revelations and His messenger that ye did scoff ?
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَرَسُولِهِۦ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
‘তোমরা দোষ স্খালনের চেষ্টা করিও না। তোমরা তো ঈমান আনার পর করিয়াছ। তোমাদের মধ্যে কোন দলকে ক্ষমা করিলেও অন্য দলকে শাস্তি দিব - কারণ তাহারা অপরাধী।’
Make no excuse. Ye have disbelieved after your (confession of) belief. If We forgive a party of you, a party of you We shall punish because they have been guilty.
لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ قَدْ كَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ إِن نَّعْفُ عَن طَآئِفَةٍ مِّنكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَآئِفَةًۢ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.
মুনাফিক নর ও মুনাফিক নারী একে অপরের অনুরূপ, উহারা অসৎকর্মের নির্দেশ দেয় এবং সৎকর্ম নিষেধ করে, উহারা হাতবদ্ধ করিয়া রাখে, উহারা কে বিস্মৃত হইয়াছে, ফলে তিনিও উহাদেরকে বিস্মৃত হইয়াছেন; মুনাফিকেরা তো পাপাচারী।
The hypocrites, both men and women, proceed one from another. They enjoin the wrong, and they forbid the right, and they withhold their hands (from spending for the cause of Allah). They forget Allah, so He hath forgotten them. Lo! the hypocrites, they are the transgressors.
ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ بَعْضُهُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَنَسِيَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment.
মুনাফিক নর, মুনাফিক নারী ও কাফিরদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছেন জাহান্নামের অগ্নিবর, যেখানে উহারা স্থায়ী হইবে, ইহাই উহাদের জন্য যথেষ্ট এবং উহাদেরকে লা‘নত করিয়াছেন এবং উহাদের জন্য রহিয়াছে স্থায়ী শাস্তি।
Allah promiseth the hypocrites, both men and women, and the disbelievers fire of hell for their abode. It will suffice them. Allah curseth them, and theirs is lasting torment.
وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلْكُفَّارَ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا هِىَ حَسْبُهُمْ وَلَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ
[You disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers.
তোমরাও তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের মত যাহারা শক্তিতে তোমাদের অপেক্ষা প্রবল ছিল এবং যাহাদের ধন - সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি ছিল তোমাদের অপেক্ষা অধিক, এবং উহারা উহাদের ভাগ্যে যাহা ছিল তাহা ভোগ করিয়াছে ; তোমাদের ভাগ্যে যাহা ছিল তোমরাও তাহা ভোগ করিলে, যেমন তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা উহাদের ভাগ্যে যাহা ছিল তাহা ভোগ করিয়াছে। উহারা যেইরূপ অনর্থক আলাপ - আলোচনায় লিপ্ত ছিল তোমরাও সেইরূপ আলাপ - আলোচনায় লিপ্ত রহিয়াছ। উহারাই তাহারা যাহাদের কর্ম দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে ব্যর্থ এবং উহারাই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত
Even as those before you who were mightier than you in strength, and more affluent than you in wealth and children. They enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye enjoy your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile. And ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers.
كَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنكُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرَ أَمْوَٰلًا وَأَوْلَٰدًا فَٱسْتَمْتَعُوا۟ بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ فَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِخَلَٰقِكُمْ كَمَا ٱسْتَمْتَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُم بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ و
Has there not reached them the news of those before them - the people of Noah and [the tribes of] 'Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the companions of Madyan and the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allah would never have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.
উহাদের পূর্ববর্তী নূহ্, ‘আদ ও সামূদের সম্প্রদায়, ইব্রাহীমের সম্প্রদায় এবং মাদ্ইয়ান ও বিধ্বস্ত নগরের অধিবাসীদের সংবাদ কি উহাদের নিকট আসে নাই? উহাদের নিকট স্পষ্ট নিদর্শনসহ উহাদের রাসূলগণ আসিয়াছিল। এমন নন যে, তাহাদের উপর জুলুম করেন, কিন্তু উহারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করে।
Hath not the fame of those before them reached them - the folk of Noah, A'ad, Thamud, the folk of Abraham, the dwellers of Midian and the disasters (which befell them) ? Their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). So Allah surely wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.
أَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوْمِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَأَصْحَٰبِ مَدْيَنَ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتِ أَتَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُم
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
নর ও নারী একে অপরের বন্ধু, ইহারা সৎকাজের নির্দেশ দেয় এবং অসৎকাজ নিষেধ করে, কায়েম করে, যাকাত দেয় এবং ও তাঁহার রাসূলের আনুগত্য করে; ইহাদেরকেই কৃপা করিবেন। নিশ্চয়ই পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor - due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.
وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ س
Allah has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence; but approval from Allah is greater. It is that which is the great attainment.
নর ও নারীকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছেন জান্নাতের - যাহার নিম্নদেশেনদী প্রবাহিত, যেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে এবং স্থায়ী জান্নাতে উত্তম বাসস্থানের। আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টিই সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ এবং উহাই মহাসাফল্য।
Allah promiseth to the believers, men and women, Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide - blessed dwellings in Gardens of Eden. And - greater (far)! - acceptance from Allah. That is the supreme triumph.
وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِى جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ
O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.
হে নবী ! ও মুনাফিকদের বিরুদ্ধে জিহাদ কর ও উহাদের প্রতি কঠোর হও; উহাদের আবাসস্থল জাহান্নাম, উহা কত নিকৃষ্ট প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল!
O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ جَٰهِدِ ٱلْكُفَّارَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
They swear by Allah that they did not say [anything against the Prophet] while they had said the word of disbelief and disbelieved after their [pretense of] Islam and planned that which they were not to attain. And they were not resentful except [for the fact] that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them; but if they turn away, Allah will punish them with a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And there will not be for them on earth any protector or helper.
উহারা আল্লাহর শপথ করে যে, উহারা কিছু বলে নাই ; কিন্তু উহারা তো কুফরীর কথা বলিয়াছে এবং ইসলাম গ্রহণের পর উহারা হইয়াছে ; উহারা যাহা সংকল্প করিয়াছিল তাহা পায় নাই। ও তাঁহার রাসূল নিজ কৃপায় উহাদেরকে অভাবমুক্ত করিয়াছিলেন বলিয়াই উহারা বিরোধিতা করিয়াছিল। উহারা তওবা করিলে উহাদের জন্য ভাল হইবে, কিন্তু উহারা মুখ ফিরাইয়া লইলে দুনিয়ায় ও আখিরাতে উহাদেরকে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি দিবেন; পৃথিবীতে উহাদের কোন অভিাভাবক নাই এবং কোন সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
They swear by Allah that they said nothing (wrong), yet they did say the word of disbelief, and did disbelieve after their Surrender (to Allah). And they purposed that which they could not attain, and they sought revenge only that Allah by His messenger should enrich them of His bounty. If they repent it will be better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful doom in the world and the Hereafter, and they have no protecting friend nor helper in the earth.
يَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ قَالُوا۟ كَلِمَةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِسْلَٰمِهِمْ وَهَمُّوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَنَالُوا۟ وَمَا نَقَمُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ أَنْ أَغْنَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ مِن فَض
And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah, [saying], "If He should give us from His bounty, we will surely spend in charity, and we will surely be among the righteous."
উহাদের মধ্যে কেহ কেহ আল্লাহর নিকট অঙ্গীকার করিয়াছিল, ‘ নিজ কৃপায় আমাদেরকে দান করিলে আমরা নিশ্চয়ই সাদাকা দিব এবং অবশ্যই সৎকর্মশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হইব।’
And of them is he who made a covenant with Allah (saying): If He give us of His bounty we will give alms and become of the righteous.
وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ عَٰهَدَ ٱللَّهَ لَئِنْ ءَاتَىٰنَا مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
But when he gave them from His bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they refused.
অতঃপর যখন তিনি নিজ কৃপায় উহাদেরকে দান করিলেন, তখন উহারা এই বিষয়ে কার্পণ্য করিল এবং বিরুদ্ধভাবাপন্ন হইয়া মুখ ফিরাইল।
Yet when He gave them of His bounty, they hoarded it and turned away, averse;
فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦ بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.
পরিণামে তিনি উহাদের অন্তরে কপটতা স্থিত করিলেন, সঙ্গে উহাদের সাক্ষাৎ - দিবস পর্যন্ত, কারণ উহারা আল্লাহর নিকট যে অঙ্গীকার করিয়াছিল উহা ভঙ্গ করিয়াছিল; কারণ উহারা ছিল মিথ্যাচারী।
So He hath made the consequence (to be) hypocrisy in their hearts until the day when they shall meet Him, because they broke their word to Allah that they promised Him, and because they lied.
فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ بِمَآ أَخْلَفُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ
Did they not know that Allah knows their secrets and their private conversations and that Allah is the Knower of the unseen?
উহারা কি জানিত না যে, উহাদের অন্তরের গোপন কথা ও উহাদের গোপন পরামর্শ অবশ্যই জানেন এবং যাহা তাহাও তিনি বিশেষভাবে জানেন?
Know they not that Allah knoweth both their secret and the thought that they confide, and that Allah is the Knower of Things Hidden ?
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَىٰهُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ
Those who criticize the contributors among the believers concerning [their] charities and [criticize] the ones who find nothing [to spend] except their effort, so they ridicule them - Allah will ridicule them, and they will have a painful punishment.
মু’মিনদের মধ্যে যাহারা স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে সাদাকা দেয় এবং যাহারা নিজ শ্রম ব্যতিরেকে কিছুই পায় না, তাহাদেরকে যাহারা দোষারোপ করে ও বিদ্রুপ করে, উহাদেরকে বিদ্রুপ করেন, উহাদের জন্য আছে মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি।
Those who point at such of the believers as give the alms willingly and such as can find naught to give but their endeavours, and deride them - Allah (Himself) derideth them. Theirs will be a painful doom.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَلْمِزُونَ ٱلْمُطَّوِّعِينَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ إِلَّا جُهْدَهُمْ فَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ سَخِرَ ٱللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Ask forgiveness for them, [O Muhammad], or do not ask forgiveness for them. If you should ask forgiveness for them seventy times - never will Allah forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
তুমি উহাদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা কর অথবা উহাদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা না কর একই কথা; তুমি সত্তর বার উহাদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করিলেও উহাদেরকে কখনই ক্ষমা করিবেন না। ইহা এইজন্য যে, উহারা ও তাঁহার রাসূলের সঙ্গে করিয়াছে। পাপাচারী সম্প্রদায়কে সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
Ask forgiveness for them (O Muhammad), or ask not forgiveness for them; though thou ask forgiveness for them seventy times Allah will not forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
ٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَوْ لَا تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ إِن تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً فَلَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱل
Those who remained behind rejoiced in their staying [at home] after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allah and disliked to strive with their wealth and their lives in the cause of Allah and said, "Do not go forth in the heat." Say, "The fire of Hell is more intensive in heat" - if they would but understand.
যাহারা পশ্চাতে রহিয়া গেল তাহারা রাসূলের বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করিয়া বসিয়া থাকাতেই আনন্দবোধ করিল এবং তাহাদের ধন - সম্পদ ও জীবন দ্বারা আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ করা অপছন্দকরিল এবং তাহারা বলিল, ‘গরমের মধ্যে অভিযানে বাহির হইও না।’ বল, ‘উত্তাপে জাহান্নামের আগুন প্রচণ্ডতম’, যদি তাহারা বুঝিত!
Those who were left behind rejoiced at sitting still behind the messenger of Allah, and were averse to striving with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way. And they said: Go not forth in the heat! Say: The fire of hell is more intense of heat, if they but understood.
فَرِحَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَٰفَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوٓا۟ أَن يُجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَنفِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَرِّ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ
So let them laugh a little and [then] weep much as recompense for what they used to earn.
অতএব তাহারা কিঞ্চিৎ হাসিয়া লউক, তাহারা প্রচুর কাঁদিবে, তাহাদের কৃতকর্মের ফলস্বরূপ।
Then let them laugh a little: they will weep much, as the reward of what they used to earn.
فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
If Allah should return you to a faction of them [after the expedition] and then they ask your permission to go out [to battle], say, "You will not go out with me, ever, and you will never fight with me an enemy. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting [at home] the first time, so sit [now] with those who stay behind."
যদি তোমাকে উহাদের কোন দলের নিকট ফেরত আনেন এবং উহারা অভিযানে বাহির হইবার জন্য তোমার অনুমতি প্রার্থনা করে, তখন তুমি বলিবে, ‘তোমরা তো আমার সঙ্গে কখনও বাহির হইবে না এবং তোমরা আমার সঙ্গী হইয়া কখনও শত্রুর সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করিবে না। তোমরা তো প্রমবার বসিয়া থাকাই পছন্দকরিয়াছিলে ; সুতরাং যাহারা পিছনে থাকে তাহাদের সঙ্গে বসিয়াই থাক।’
If Allah bring thee back (from the campaign) unto a party of them and they ask of thee leave to go out (to fight), then say unto them: Ye shall never more go out with me nor fight with me against a foe. Ye were content with sitting still the first time. So sit still, with the useless.
فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَآئِفَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ فَٱسْتَـْٔذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخْرُجُوا۟ مَعِىَ أَبَدًا وَلَن تُقَٰتِلُوا۟ مَعِىَ عَدُوًّا إِنَّكُمْ رَضِيتُم بِٱلْقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَٱقْعُد
And do not pray [the funeral prayer, O Muhammad], over any of them who has died - ever - or stand at his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and died while they were defiantly disobedient.
উহাদের মধ্যে কাহারও মৃত্যু হইলে তুমি কখনও উহার জন্য জানাযার পড়িবে না এবং উহার কবর - পার্শ্বে দাঁড়াইবে না ; উহারা তো ও তাঁহার রাসূলকে অস্বীকার করিয়াছিল এবং পাপাচারী অবস্থায় উহাদের মৃত্যু হইয়াছে।
And never (O Muhammad) pray for one of them who dieth, nor stand by his grave. Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and they died while they were evil - doers.
وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ
And let not their wealth and their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through them in this world and that their souls should depart [at death] while they are disbelievers.
সুতরাং উহাদের সম্পদ ও সন্তান - সন্ততি তোমাকে যেন বিমুগ্ধ না করে; তো উহার দ্বারাই উহাদেরকে পার্থিব জীবনে শাস্তি দিতে চান ; উহারা থাকা অবস্থায় উহাদের আত্বারদেহত্যাগ করিবে।
Let not their wealth nor their children please thee! Allah purposeth only to punish them thereby in the world, and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers.
وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
And when a surah was revealed [enjoining them] to believe in Allah and to fight with His Messenger, those of wealth among them asked your permission [to stay back] and said, "Leave us to be with them who sit [at home]."
আল্লাহর উপর ঈমান আন এবং রাসূলের সঙ্গী হইয়া জিহাদ কর’ - এই মর্মে যখন কোন সূরা অবতীর্ণ হয় তখন উহাদের মধ্যে যাহাদের শক্তি - সামর্থ্য আছে তাহারা তোমার নিকট অব্যাহতি চায় এবং বলে, ‘আমাদেরকে রেহাই দাও, যাহারা বসিয়া থাকে আমরা তাহাদের সঙ্গেই থাকিব।’
And when a surah is revealed (which saith): Believe in Allah and strive along with His messenger, the men of wealth among them still ask leave of thee and say: Suffer us to be with those who sit (at home).
وَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ مَعَ رَسُولِهِ ٱسْتَـْٔذَنَكَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلطَّوْلِ مِنْهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ ذَرْنَا نَكُن مَّعَ ٱلْقَٰعِدِينَ
They were satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and their hearts were sealed over, so they do not understand.
উহারা অন্তঃপুরবাসিনীদের সঙ্গে অবস্থান করাই পছন্দকরিয়াছে এবং উহাদের অন্তর মোহর করা হইয়াছে ; ফলে উহারা বুঝিতে পারে না।
They are content that they should be with the useless and their hearts are sealed, so that they apprehend not.
رَضُوا۟ بِأَن يَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلْخَوَالِفِ وَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ
But the Messenger and those who believed with him fought with their wealth and their lives. Those will have [all that is] good, and it is those who are the .
কিন্তু রাসূল এবং যাহারা তাহার সঙ্গে ঈমান আনিয়াছিল তাহারা নিজ সম্পদ ও জীবন দ্বারা আল্লাহর পথে জিহাদ করিয়াছে; উহাদের জন্যই কল্যাণ আছে এবং উহারাই ।
But the messenger and those who believe with him strive with their wealth and their lives. Such are they for whom are the good things. Such are they who are the .
لَٰكِنِ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ جَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتُ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. That is the great attainment.
উহাদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করিয়া রাখিয়াছেন জান্নাত, যাহার নিম্নদেশেনদী প্রবাহিত, যেখানে তাহারা স্থায়ী হইবে; ইহাই মহাসাফল্য।
Allah hath made ready for them Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide. That is the supreme triumph.
أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
And those with excuses among the bedouins came to be permitted [to remain], and they who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat [at home]. There will strike those who disbelieved among them a painful punishment.
মরুবাসীদের মধ্যে কিছু লোক অজুহাত পেশ করিতে আসিল যেন ইহাদেরকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া হয় এবং যাহারা বসিয়া রহিল তাহারা ও তাঁহার রাসূলের সঙ্গে মিথ্যা বলিয়াছিল, উহাদের মধ্যে যাহারা করিয়াছে তাহাদের মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি হইবেই।
And those among the wandering Arabs who had an excuse came in order that permission might be granted them. And those who lied to Allah and His messenger sat at home. A painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.
وَجَآءَ ٱلْمُعَذِّرُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ لِيُؤْذَنَ لَهُمْ وَقَعَدَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
There is not upon the weak or upon the ill or upon those who do not find anything to spend any discomfort when they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger. There is not upon the doers of good any cause [for blame]. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
যাহারা দুর্বল, যাহারা পীড়িত এবং যাহারা অর্থসাহায্যে অসমর্থ, তাহাদের কোন অপরাধ নাই, যদি ও রাসূলের প্রতি তাহাদের অবিমিশ্র অনুরাগ থাকে। যাহারা সৎকর্মপরায়ণ তাহাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগের কোন হেতু নাই। ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
Not unto the weak nor unto the sick nor unto those who can find naught to spend is any fault (to be imputed though they stay at home) if they are true to Allah and His messenger. Not unto the good is there any road (of blame). Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
لَّيْسَ عَلَى ٱلضُّعَفَآءِ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلْمَرْضَىٰ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يُنفِقُونَ حَرَجٌ إِذَا نَصَحُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ مَا عَلَى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ مِن سَبِيلٍ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّ
Nor [is there blame] upon those who, when they came to you that you might give them mounts, you said, "I can find nothing for you to ride upon." They turned back while their eyes overflowed with tears out of grief that they could not find something to spend [for the cause of Allah].
উহাদেরও কোন অপরাধ নাই যাহারা তোমার নিকট বাহনের জন্য আসিলে তুমি বলিয়াছিলে, ‘তোমাদের জন্য কোন বাহন আমি পাইতেছি না’; উহারা অর্থব্যয়ে অসামর্থ্যজনিত দুঃখে অশ্রুবিগলিত নেত্রে ফিরিয়া গেল।
Nor unto those whom, when they came to thee (asking) that thou shouldst mount them, thou didst tell: I cannot find whereon to mount you. They turned back with eyes flowing with tears, for sorrow that they could not find the means to spend.
وَلَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا مَآ أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لَآ أَجِدُ مَآ أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ تَوَلَّوا۟ وَّأَعْيُنُهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ ٱلدَّمْعِ حَزَنًا أَلَّا يَجِدُوا۟ مَا يُنفِقُونَ
The cause [for blame] is only upon those who ask permission of you while they are rich. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and Allah has sealed over their hearts, so they do not know.
যাহারা অভাবমুক্ত হইয়াও অব্যাহতি প্রার্থনা করিয়াছে, অবশ্যই উহাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগের হেতু আছে। উহারা অন্তঃপুরবাসিনীদের সঙ্গে থাকাই পছন্দকরিয়াছিল ; উহাদের অন্তর মোহর করিয়া দিয়াছেন, ফলে উহারা বুঝিতে পারে না!
The road (of blame) is only against those who ask for leave of thee (to stay at home) when they are rich. They are content to be with the useless. Allah hath sealed their hearts so that they know not.
إِنَّمَا ٱلسَّبِيلُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَ وَهُمْ أَغْنِيَآءُ رَضُوا۟ بِأَن يَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلْخَوَالِفِ وَطَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse - never will we believe you. Allah has already us of your news. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
তোমরা উহাদের নিকট ফিরিয়া আসিলে উহারা তোমাদের নিকট অজুহাত পেশ করিবে। বলিও, ‘অজুহাত পেশ করিও না, আমরা তোমাদেরকে কখনও বিশ্বাস করিব না ; আমাদেরকে তোমাদের খবর জানাইয়া দিয়াছেন এবং অবশ্যই তোমাদের কার্যকলাপ লক্ষ্য করিবেন এবং তাঁহার রাসূলও। অতঃপর যিনি ও দৃশ্যের পরিজ্ঞাতা তাঁহার নিকট তোমাদেরকে প্রত্যাবর্তিত করা হইবে এবং তিনি তোমরা যাহা করিতে, তাহা তোমাদেরকে জানাইয়া দিবেন।’
They will make excuse to you (Muslims) when ye return unto them. Say: Make no excuse, for we shall not believe you. Allah hath told us tidings of you. Allah and His messenger will see your conduct, and then ye will be brought back unto Him Who knoweth the Invisible as well as the Visible, and He will tell you what ye used to do.
يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ قُل لَّا تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ قَدْ نَبَّأَنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْ أَخْبَارِكُمْ وَسَيَرَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُۥ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَٰ
They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning.
তোমরা উহাদের নিকট ফিরিয়া আসিলে অচিরেই উহারা শপথ করিবে যাহাতে তোমরা উহাদের উপেক্ষা কর। সুতরাং তোমরা উহাদেরকে উপেক্ষা করিবে; উহারা অপবিত্র এবং উহাদের কৃতকর্মের ফলস্বরূপ জাহান্নাম উহাদের আবাসস্থল।
They will swear by Allah unto you, when ye return unto them, that ye may let them be. Let them be, for lo! they are unclean, and their abode is hell as the reward for what they used to earn.
سَيَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ إِذَا ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُوا۟ عَنْهُمْ فَأَعْرِضُوا۟ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them - indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people.
উহারা তোমাদের নিকট শপথ করিবে যাহাতে তোমরা উহাদের প্রতি তুষ্ট হও। তোমরা উহাদের প্রতি তুষ্ট হইলেও তো সত্যত্যাগী সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি তুষ্ট হইবেন না।
They swear unto you, that ye may accept them. Though ye accept them. Allah verily accepteth not wrongdoing folk.
يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْا۟ عَنْهُمْ فَإِن تَرْضَوْا۟ عَنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَرْضَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
The bedouins are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy and more likely not to know the limits of what [laws] Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
ও কপটতায় মরুবাসীরা কঠোরতর; এবং তাঁহার রাসূলের প্রতি যাহা অবতীর্ণ করিয়াছেন, তাহার সীমারেখা সম্পর্কে অজ্ঞ থাকার যোগ্যতা ইহাদের অধিক। সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
The wandering Arabs are more hard in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely to be ignorant of the limits which Allah hath revealed unto His messenger. And Allah is Knower, Wise.
ٱلْأَعْرَابُ أَشَدُّ كُفْرًا وَنِفَاقًا وَأَجْدَرُ أَلَّا يَعْلَمُوا۟ حُدُودَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
And among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
মরুবাসীদের কেহ কেহ, যাহা তাহারা পথে ব্যয় করে তাহা অর্থদণ্ড বলিয়া গণ্য করে এবং তোমাদের ভাগ্য বিপর্যয়ের প্রতীক্ষা করে। মন্দ ভাগ্যচক্র উহাদেরই হউক। সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
And of the wandering Arabs there is he who taketh that which he expendeth (for the cause of Allah) as a loss, and awaiteth (evil) turns of fortune for you (that he may be rid of it). The evil turn of fortune will be theirs. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
وَمِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ ٱلدَّوَآئِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوْءِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
But among the bedouins are some who believe in Allah and the Last Day and consider what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and of [obtaining] invocations of the Messenger. Unquestionably, it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them to His mercy. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
মরুবাসীদের কেহ কেহ ও পরকালে ঈমান রাখে এবং যাহা ব্যয় করে তাহাকে সান্নিধ্য ও রাসূলের দু‘আ লাভের উপায় মনে করে। বাস্তবিকই উহা তাহাদের জন্য আল্লাহর সান্নিধ্য লাভের উপায় ; তাহাদেরকে নিজ রহমতে দাখিল করিবেন। নিশ্চয়ই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
And of the wandering Arabs there is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and taketh that which he expendeth and also the prayers of the messenger as acceptable offerings in the sight of Allah. Lo! verily it is an acceptable offering for them. Allah will bring them into His mercy. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
وَمِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَيَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ قُرُبَٰتٍ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَصَلَوَٰتِ ٱلرَّسُولِ أَلَآ إِنَّهَا قُرْبَةٌ لَّهُمْ سَيُدْخِلُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
মুহাজির ও আনসারদের মধ্যে যাহারা প্রথম অগ্রগামী এবং যাহারা নিষ্ঠার সঙ্গে তাহাদের অনুসরণ করে তাহাদের প্রতি প্রসন্ন এবং তাহারাও তাহাতে সন্তুষ্ট এবং তিনি তাহাদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করিয়াছেন জান্নাত, যাহার নিম্নদেশেনদী প্রবাহিত, যেখানে তাহারা চিরস্থায়ী হইবে। ইহা মহাসাফল্য।
And the first to lead the way, of the Muhajirin and the Ansar, and those who followed them in goodness - Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him, and He hath made ready for them Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. That is the supreme triumph.
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَٰنٍ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى تَحْتَهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِي
And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madinah. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment.
মরুবাসীদের মধ্যে যাহারা তোমাদের আশেপাশে আছে তাহাদের কেহ কেহ মুনাফিক এবং মদীনাবাসীদের মধ্যেও কেহ কেহ, উহারা কপটতায় সিদ্ধ। তুমি উহাদেরকে জান না; আমি উহাদেরকে জানি। আমি উহাদেরকে দুইবার শাস্তি দিব ও পরে উহারা প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে মহাশাস্তির দিকে।
And among those around you of the wandering Arabs there are hypocrites, and among the townspeople of Al - Madinah (there are some who) persist in hypocrisy whom thou (O Muhammad) knowest not. We, We know them, and We shall chastise them twice; then they will be relegated to a painful doom.
وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ مُنَٰفِقُونَ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ مَرَدُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنِّفَاقِ لَا تَعْلَمُهُمْ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْ سَنُعَذِّبُهُم مَّرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ عَظِيمٍ
And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
এবং অপর কতক লোকে নিজেদের অপরাধ স্বীকার করিয়াছে, উহারা এক সৎকর্মের সঙ্গে অপর অসৎকর্ম মিশ্রিত করিয়াছে; হয়ত উহাদেরকে ক্ষমা করিবেন; নিশ্চয়ই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
And (there are) others who have acknowledged their faults. They mixed a righteous action with another that was bad. It may be that Allah will relent toward them. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
وَءَاخَرُونَ ٱعْتَرَفُوا۟ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ خَلَطُوا۟ عَمَلًا صَٰلِحًا وَءَاخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
উহাদের সম্পদ হইতে ‘সাদাকা’ গ্রহণ করিবে। ইহার দ্বারা তুমি উহাদেরকে পবিত্র করিবে এবং পরিশোধিত করিবে। তুমি উহাদেরকে দু‘আ করিবে। তোমার দু‘আ তো উহাদের জন্য চিত্ত স্বস্তিকর। সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞ।
Take alms of their wealth, wherewith thou mayst purify them and mayst make them grow, and pray for them. Lo! thy prayer is an assuagement for them. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful?
উহারা কি জানে না যে, তো তাঁহার বান্দাদের তওবা কবুল করেন এবং ‘সাদাকা’ গ্রহণ করেন, নিশ্চয়ই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু?
Know they not that Allah is He Who accepteth repentance from His bondmen and taketh the alms, and that Allah is He Who is the Relenting, the Merciful.
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ ٱلتَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَأْخُذُ ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."
এবং বল, ‘তোমরা কর্ম করিতে থাক; তো তোমাদের কার্যকলাপ লক্ষ্য করিবেন এবং তাঁহার রাসূল ও মু’মিনগণও করিবে এবং অচিরেই তোমরা প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইবে ও দৃশ্যের পরিজ্ঞাতার নিকট, অতঃপর তিনি তোমরা যাহা করিতে তাহা তোমাদেরকে জানাইয়া দিবেন।’
And say (unto them): Act! Allah will behold your actions, and (so will) His messenger and the believers, and ye will be brought back to the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, and He will tell you what ye used to do.
وَقُلِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ فَسَيَرَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah - whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
এবং আদেশের প্রতীক্ষায় অপর কতকের সম্পর্কে সিদ্ধান্ত স্থগিত রহিল তিনি উহাদেরকে শাস্তি দিবেন, না ক্ষমা করিবেন। সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
And (there are) others who await Allah's decree, whether He will punish them or will forgive them. Allah is Knower, Wise.
وَءَاخَرُونَ مُرْجَوْنَ لِأَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ إِمَّا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ وَإِمَّا يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best." And Allah testifies that indeed they are liars.
এবং যাহারা মসজিদ নির্মাণ করিয়াছে ক্ষতিসাধন, ও মু’মিনদের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃষ্টির উদ্দেশ্যে এবং ইতিপূর্বে ও তাঁহার রাসূলের বিরুদ্ধে যে ব্যক্তি সংগ্রাম করিয়াছে তাহার গোপন ঘাঁটিস্বরূপ ব্যবহারের উদ্দেশ্যে, তাহারা অবশ্যই শপথ করিবে, ‘আমরা সদুদ্দেশ্যেই উহা করিয়াছি; সাক্ষী, তাহারা তো মিথ্যাবাদী।
And as for those who chose a place of worship out of opposition and disbelief, and in order to cause dissent among the believers, and as an outpost for those who warred against Allah and His messenger aforetime, they will surely swear: We purposed naught save good. Allah beareth witness that they verily are liars.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًۢا بَيْنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِّمَنْ حَارَبَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ يَ
Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.
তুমি ইহাতে কখনও দাঁড়াইও না। যে মসজিদের ভিত্তি প্রথম দিন হইতেই স্থাপিত হইয়াছে তাক্ওয়ার উপর, উহাই তোমার সালাতের জন্য অধিক যোগ্য। সেখানে এমন লোক আছে যাহারা পবিত্রতা অর্জন ভালবাসে এবং পবিত্রতা অর্জনকারীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন।
Never stand (to pray) there. A place of worship which was found upon duty (to Allah) from the first day is more worthy that thou shouldst stand (to pray) therein, wherein are men who love to purify themselves. Allah loveth the purifiers.
لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا لَّمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَن يَتَطَهَّرُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُطَّهِّرِينَ
Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
যে ব্যক্তি তাহার গৃহের ভিত্তি ও আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির উপর স্থাপন করে সে উত্তম, না ঐ ব্যক্তি উত্তম যে তাহার গৃহের ভিত্তি স্থাপন করে এক খাদের ধসোন্মুখ কিনারায়, ফলে যাহা
Is he who founded his building upon duty to Allah and His good pleasure better; or he who founded his building on the brink of a crumbling, overhanging precipice so that it toppled with him into the fire of hell ? Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ تَقْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٍ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ عَلَىٰ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَٱنْهَارَ بِهِۦ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ
Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts until their hearts are stopped. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
উহাদের গৃহ যাহা উহারা নির্মাণ করিয়াছে তাহা উহাদের অন্তরে সন্দেহের কারণ হইয়া থাকিবে। যে পর্যন্ত না উহাদের অন্তর ছিন্ন - বিচ্ছিন্ন হইয়া যায়। সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
The building which they built will never cease to be a misgiving in their hearts unless their hearts be torn to pieces. Allah is Knower, Wise.
لَا يَزَالُ بُنْيَٰنُهُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَنَوْا۟ رِيبَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَّآ أَن تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.
নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ্মু’মিনদের নিকট হইতে তাহাদের জীবন ও সম্পদ ক্রয় করিয়া লইয়াছেন, তাহাদের জন্য জান্নাত আছে ইহার বিনিময়ে। তাহারা পথে যুদ্ধ করে, নিধন করে ও নিহত হয়। তাওরাত, ইনজীল ও কুরআনে এই সম্পর্কে তাহাদের দৃঢ় প্রতিশ্রুতি রহিয়াছে। নিজ প্রতিজ্ঞা পালনে আল্লাহ্অপেক্ষা শ্রেষ্ঠতর কে আছে? তোমরা যে সওদা করিয়াছ সেই সওদার জন্য আনন্দিত হও এবং উহাই তো মহাসাফল্য।
Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah ? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ
[Such believers are] the repentant, the worshippers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah. And give good tidings to the believers.
উহারা তওবাকারী, ‘ইবাদতকারী, আল্লাহ্প্রশংসাকারী, সিয়াম পালনকারী, রুকূ‘কারী, সিজ্দাকারী, সৎকাজের নির্দেশদাতা, অসৎকাজে নিষেধকারী এবং আল্লাহ্নির্ধারিত সীমারেখা সংরক্ষণকারী; এই মু’মিনদেরকে তুমি শুভ সংবাদ দাও।
(Triumphant) are those who turn repentant (to Allah), those who serve (Him), those who praise (Him), those who fast, those who bow down, those who fall prostrate (in worship), those who enjoin the right and who forbid the wrong and those who keep the limits (ordained) of Allah - And give glad tidings to believers!
ٱلتَّٰٓئِبُونَ ٱلْعَٰبِدُونَ ٱلْحَٰمِدُونَ ٱلسَّٰٓئِحُونَ ٱلرَّٰكِعُونَ ٱلسَّٰجِدُونَ ٱلْءَامِرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱلنَّاهُونَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ ٱللَّهِ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of Hellfire.
আত্মীয় - স্বজন হইলেও মুশরিকদের জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করা নবী এবং মু’মিনদের জন্য সংগত নয় যখন ইহা সুস্পষ্ট হইয়া গিয়াছে যে, নিশ্চিতই উহারা জাহান্নামী।
It is not for the Prophet, and those who believe, to pray for the forgiveness of idolaters even though they may be near of kin (to them) after it hath become clear that they are people of hell - fire.
مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى قُرْبَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient.
ইব্রাহীম তাহার পিতার জন্য ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করিয়াছিল, তাহাকে ইহার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়াছিল বলিয়া ; অতঃপর যখন ইহা তাহার নিকট সুস্পষ্ট হইল যে, সে শত্রু তখন ইব্রাহীম উহার সম্পর্ক ছিন্ন করিল। ইব্রাহীম তো কোমল হৃদয় ও সহনশীল।
The prayer of Abraham for the forgiveness of his father was only because of a promise he had promised him, but when it had become clear unto him that he (his father) was an enemy to Allah he (Abraham) disowned him. Lo! Abraham was soft of heart, long - suffering.
وَمَا كَانَ ٱسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَآ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥٓ أَنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَأَوَّٰهٌ حَلِيمٌ
And Allah would not let a people stray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things.
আল্লাহ্এমন নন যে, তিনি কোন সম্প্রদায়কে পথপ্রদর্শন করিবার পর উহাদেরকে বিভ্রান্ত করিবেন - উহাদেরকে কী বিষয়ে তাক্ওয়া অবলম্বন করিতে হইবে, ইহা সুস্পষ্টরূপে ব্যক্ত না করা পর্যন্ত; নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ্সর্ববিষয়ে সবিশেষ অবহিত।
It was never Allah's (part) that He should send a folk astray after He had guided them until He had made clear unto them what they should avoid. Lo! Allah is Aware of all things.
وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًۢا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Indeed, to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He gives life and causes death. And you have not besides Allah any protector or any helper.
আকাশমণ্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর সার্বভৌম ক্ষমতা তিনিই জীবন দান করেন এবং তিনিই মৃতু ঘটান। ব্যতীত তোমাদের কোন অভিভাবক নাই, সাহায্যকারীও নাই।
Lo! Allah! Unto Him belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He quickeneth and He giveth death. And ye have, instead of Allah, no protecting friend nor helper.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
Allah has already forgiven the Prophet and the Muhajireen and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of difficulty after the hearts of a party of them had almost inclined [to doubt], and then He forgave them. Indeed, He was to them Kind and Merciful.
অবশ্যই অনুগ্রহপরায়ণ হইলেন নবীর প্রতি এবং মুহাজির ও আনসারদের প্রতি যাহারা তাহার অনুসরণ করিয়াছিল সংকটকালে - এমনকি যখন তাহাদের একদলের চিত্ত - বৈকল্যের উপক্রম হইয়াছিল। পরে উহাদেরকে ক্ষমা করিলেন; তিনি তো উহাদের প্রতি দয়ার্দ্র, পরম দয়ালু।
Allah hath turned in mercy to the Prophet, and to the Muhajirin and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of hardship. After the hearts of a party of them had almost swerved aside, then turned He unto them in mercy. Lo! He is Full of Pity, Merciful for them.
لَّقَد تَّابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ فِى سَاعَةِ ٱلْعُسْرَةِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّهُۥ بِ
And [He also forgave] the three who were left behind [and regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness and their souls confined them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
এবং তিনি ক্ষমা করিলেন অপর তিনজনকেও, যাহাদের সম্পর্কে সিদ্ধান্তস্থগিত রাখা হইয়াছিল, যে পর্যন্তনা পৃথিবী বিস্তৃত হওয়া সত্ত্বেও তাহাদের জন্য উহা সংকুচিত হইয়াছিল এবং তাহাদের জীবন তাহাদের জন্য দুর্বিষহ হইয়াছিল এবং তাহারা উপলব্ধি করিয়াছিল যে, ব্যতীত কোন আশ্রয়স্থল নাই, তাঁহার দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন ব্যতীত, পরে তিনি উহাদের তওবা কবুল করিলেন যাহাতে উহারা তওবায় স্থির থাকে। নিশ্চয়ই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
And to the three also (did He turn in mercy) who were left behind, when the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for them, and their own souls were straitened for them till they bethought them that there is no refuge from Allah save toward Him. Then turned He unto them in mercy that they (too) might turn (repentant unto Him). Lo! Allah! He is the Relenting, the Merciful.
وَعَلَى ٱلثَّلَٰثَةِ ٱلَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَن لَّا مَلْجَأَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّآ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ ع
O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are true.
হে মু’মিনগণ! তোমরা কে ভয় কর এবং সত্যবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হও।
O ye who believe! Be careful of your duty to Allah, and be with the truthful.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
It was not [proper] for the people of Madinah and those surrounding them of the bedouins that they remain behind after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allah or that they prefer themselves over his self. That is because they are not afflicted by thirst or fatigue or hunger in the cause of Allah, nor do they tread on any ground that enrages the disbelievers, nor do they inflict upon an enemy any infliction but that is registered for them as a righteous deed. Indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of the doers of good.
মদীনাবাসী ও উহাদের পার্শ্ববর্তী মরুবাসীদের জন্য সঙ্গত নয় আল্লাহর রাসূলের সহগামী না হইয়া পিছনে রহিয়া যাওয়া এবং তাহার জীবন অপেক্ষা তাহাদের নিজেদের জীবনকে প্রিয় জ্ঞান করা ; কারণ আল্লাহর পথে উহাদের তৃষ্ণা, ক্লান্তি এবং ক্ষুধায় ক্লিষ্ট হওয়া এবং কাফিরদের ক্রোধ উদ্রেক করে এমন পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা এবং শত্রুদের নিকট হইতে কিছু প্রাপ্ত হওয়া উহাদের সৎকর্মরুপে গণ্য হয়। নিশ্চয়ই সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের শ্রমফল নষ্ট করেন না।
It is not for the townsfolk of Al - Madinah and for those around them of the wandering Arabs so stay behind the messenger of Allah and prefer their lives to his life. That is because neither thirst nor toil nor hunger afflicteth them in the way of Allah, nor step they any step that angereth the disbelievers, nor gain they from the enemy a gain, but a good deed is recorded for them therefor. Lo! Allah loseth not the wages of the good.
مَا كَانَ لِأَهْلِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ أَن يَتَخَلَّفُوا۟ عَن رَّسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَرْغَبُوا۟ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌ وَلَا نَص
Nor do they spend an expenditure, small or large, or cross a valley but that it is registered for them that Allah may reward them for the best of what they were doing.
এবং উহারা ক্ষুদ্র অথবা বৃহৎ যাহাই ব্যয় করে এবং যে কোন প্রান্তরই অতিক্রম করে তাহা উহাদের অনুকূলে লিপিবদ্ধ হয় - যাহাতে উহারা যাহা করে তাহা অপেক্ষা উৎকৃষ্টতর পুরস্কার উহাদেরকে দিতে পারেন।
Nor spend they any spending, small or great, nor do they cross a valley, but it is recorded for them, that Allah may repay them the best of what they used to do.
وَلَا يُنفِقُونَ نَفَقَةً صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً وَلَا يَقْطَعُونَ وَادِيًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمْ لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
And it is not for the believers to go forth [to battle] all at once. For there should separate from every division of them a group [remaining] to obtain understanding in the religion and warn their people when they return to them that they might be cautious.
মু’মিনদের সকলের একসঙ্গে অভিযানে বাহির হওয়া সংগত নয়, উহাদের প্রত্যেক দলের এক অংশ বহির্গত হয় না কেন, যাহাতে তাহারা দীন সম্বন্ধে জ্ঞানানুশীলন করিতে পারে এবং উহাদের সম্প্রদায়কে সতর্ক করিতে পারে, যখন তাহারা তাহাদের নিকট ফিরিয়া আসিবে যাহাতে তাহারা সতর্ক হয়।
And the believers should not all go out to fight. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may gain sound knowledge in religion, and that they may warn their folk when they return to them, so that they may beware.
وَمَا كَانَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنفِرُوا۟ كَآفَّةً فَلَوْلَا نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُوا۟ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُو
O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allah is with the righteous.
হে মু’মিনগণ! কাফিরদের মধ্যে যাহারা তোমাদের নিকটবর্তী তাহাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ কর এবং উহারা যেন তোমাদের মধ্যে কঠোরতা দেখিতে পায়। জানিয়া রাখ, তো মুত্তাকীদের সঙ্গে আছেন।
O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ وَلْيَجِدُوا۟ فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
And whenever a surah is revealed, there are among the hypocrites those who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?" As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, while they are rejoicing.
যখনই কোন সূরা অবতীর্ণ হয় তখন উহাদের কেহ কেহ বলে, ‘ইহা তোমাদের মধ্যে কাহার ঈমান বৃদ্ধি করিল?’ যাহারা ইহা তাহাদেরই ঈমান বৃদ্ধি করে এবং তাহারাই আনন্দিত হয়।
And whenever a surah is revealed there are some of them who say: Which one of you hath thus increased in faith ? As for those who believe, it hath increased them in faith and they rejoice (therefor).
وَإِذَا مَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ أَيُّكُمْ زَادَتْهُ هَٰذِهِۦٓ إِيمَٰنًا فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَزَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَهُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
But as for those in whose hearts is disease, it has [only] increased them in evil [in addition] to their evil. And they will have died while they are disbelievers.
এবং যাহাদের অন্তরে ব্যাধি আছে, ইহা তাহাদের কলুষের সঙ্গে আরও কলুষ যুক্ত করে এবং উহাদের মৃত্যু ঘটে অবস্থায়।
But as for those in whose hearts is disease, it only addeth wickedness to their wickedness, and they die while they are disbelievers.
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَتْهُمْ رِجْسًا إِلَىٰ رِجْسِهِمْ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ
Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice but then they do not repent nor do they remember?
উহারা কি দেখে না যে, ‘উহাদেরকে প্রতি বৎসর একবার বা দুইবার বিপর্যস্তকরা হয়?’ ইহার পরও উহারা তওবা করে না এবং উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে না,
See they not that they are tested once or twice in every year ? Still they turn not in repentance, neither pay they heed.
أَوَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ يُفْتَنُونَ فِى كُلِّ عَامٍ مَّرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوبُونَ وَلَا هُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
And whenever a surah is revealed, they look at each other, [saying], "Does anyone see you?" and then they dismiss themselves. Allah has dismissed their hearts because they are a people who do not understand.
এবং যখনই কোন সূরা অবতীর্ণ হয়, তখন উহারা একে অপরের দিকে তাকায় এবং ইশারায় জিজ্ঞাসা করে ‘তোমাদেরকে কেহ লক্ষ্য করিতেছে কি?’ অতঃপর উহারা সরিয়া পড়ে। উহাদের হৃদয়কে সত্যবিমুখ করিয়াছেন, কারণ উহারা এমন এক সম্প্রদায় যাহাদের বোধশক্তি নাই।
And whenever a surah is revealed, they look one at another (as who should say): Doth anybody see you ? Then they turn away. Allah turneth away their hearts because they are a folk who understand not.
وَإِذَا مَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَّظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَىٰكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ ثُمَّ ٱنصَرَفُوا۟ صَرَفَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ
There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.
অবশ্যই তোমাদের মধ্য হইতেই তোমাদের নিকট এক রাসূল আসিয়াছে। তোমাদেরকে যাহা বিপন্ন করে উহা তাহার জন্য কষ্টদায়ক। সে তোমাদের মঙ্গলকামী, মু’মিনদের প্রতি সে দয়ার্দ্র ও পরম দয়ালু।
There hath come unto you a messenger, (one) of yourselves, unto whom aught that ye are overburdened is grievous, full of concern for you, for the believers full of pity, merciful.
لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ
But if they turn away, [O Muhammad], say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."
অতঃপর উহারা যদি মুখ ফিরাইয়া নেয় তবে তুমি বলিও, ‘আমার জন্য যথেষ্ট, তিনি ব্যতীত অন্য কোন ইলাহ্ নাই। আমি তাহারই উপর নির্ভর করি এবং তিনি মহাআরশেরঅধিপতি।
Now, if they turn away (O Muhammad) say: Allah sufficeth me. There is no God save Him. In Him have I put my trust, and He is Lord of the Tremendous Throne.
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
