Chapter 26, 227 verses
Ta. Sin. Mim.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Ta. Sin. Mim.
ত্বা, সীন, মীম।
طسٓمٓ
These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear.
These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain.
এসব হচ্ছে সুস্পষ্ট গ্রন্থের বাণীসমূহ।
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers.
It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not.
তুমি হয়ত তোমার নিজেকে মেরেই ফেলবে যেহেতু তারা হচ্ছে না।
لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
If (such) were Our Will, We could send down to them from the sky a Sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.
If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it.
যদি আমরা ইচ্ছা করতাম তাহলে আমরা তাদের উপরে আকাশ থেকে একটি নিদর্শন পাঠাতে পারতাম, তখন এর কারণে তাদের ঘাড় নুইয়ে হেটঁ করে দেয়া হত।
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
But there comes not to them a newly - revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom.
Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it.
আর তাদের নিকট পরম করুণাময়ের কাছ থেকে কোনো নতুন স্মরণীয় - বার্তা আসতে না আসতেই তারা তা থেকে বিমুখ হয়ে যায়।
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at!
Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff.
তাহলে তারা প্রত্যাখ্যান করেই ফেলেছে, সুতরাং যা নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা - বিদ্রপ করত তার সংবাদ তাদের কাছে শীঘ্রই আসছে।
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Do they not look at the earth, - how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein?
Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein ?
তারা কি পৃথিবীর দিকে চেয়ে দেখে না - - এতে আমরা প্রত্যেক উৎকৃষ্ট কল্পতরু কত যে জন্নিয়েছি?
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়!
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity, -
And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk,
আর স্মরণ করো! তোমার প্রভু মূসাকে ডেকে বললেন - - ''তুমি অত্যাচারী লোকদের কাছে যাও, - -
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
"The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?"
The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil) ?
ফিরআউনের লোকদের কাছে। তারা কি ধর্মভীরুতা অবলন্বন করবে না?’’
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood:
He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me,
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু! আমি অবশ্যই আশংকা করি যে তারা আমাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করবে।
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
"My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron.
And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me).
''আমার বুক সংকুচিত হয়ে পড়েছে, আর আমার জিহ্বা বাক্পটু নয়, সেজন্য হারূনের প্রতিও ডাক পাঠাও।
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
"And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me."
And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me.
''আর আমার বিরুদ্ধে এক অপরাধ তাদের তত্ত্বাবধানে রয়েছে, সেজন্য আমি ভয় করি যে তারা আমাকে কাতল করবে।’’
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call).
He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing.
তিনি বললেন - - ''কখনো না! অতএব তোমরা দুজনেই আমাদের নিদর্শন সমূহ নিয়ে যাও, নিশ্চয়ই আমরা তোমাদের সঙ্গে রয়েছি শুনতে থাকা অবস্থায়।
قَالَ كَلَّا فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds;
And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds,
''সুতরাং তোমরা ফিরআউনের নিকট যাও আর বলো - - 'আমরা আলবৎ বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর রসূল - -
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'"
(Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us.
''যে ইসরাইলের বংশধরদের আমাদের সঙ্গে পাঠিয়ে দাও’।’’
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life?
(Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child ? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us,
সে বললে - - ''তোমাকে কি ছেলেবেলায় আমাদের কাছেই লালনপালন করি নি, এবং তুমি কি আমাদেরই মধ্যে তোমার জীবনের বহু বৎসর কাটাও নি?
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
"And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!"
And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates.
''আর তোমার কাজ যা তুমি করেছ তা তো করেইছ, তথাপি তুমি অকৃতজ্ঞদের মধ্যেকার!’’
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error.
He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমি এটি করেছিলাম যখন আমি পথভ্রষ্টদের মধ্যে ছিলাম।
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
"So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers.
Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).
''এরপর যখন আমি তোমাদের ভয় করেছিলাম তখন আমি তোমাদের থেকে ফেরার হলাম, তারপর আমার প্রভু আমাকে জ্ঞান দান করেছেন, আর তিনি আমাকে বানিয়েছেন রসূলদের অন্যতম।
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
"And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me, - that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!"
And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.
''আর এই তো হচ্ছে সেই অনুগ্রহ যা তুমি আমার কাছে উল্লেখ করছ যার জন্যে তুমি ইসরাইলের বংশধরদের দাস বানিয়েছ!’’
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?"
Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds ?
ফিরআউন বললে - - ''বিশ্বজগতের প্রভু আবার কি হয়?’’
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
(Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between, - if ye want to be quite sure."
(Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief.
তিনি বললেন - - ''মহাকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবীর এবং তাদের মধ্যে যা - কিছু আছে তার প্রভু, - - যদি তোমরা দৃঢ়প্রত্যয়িত হও।’’
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
(Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?"
(Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not ?
সে তার আশপাশে যারা আছে তাদের বললে - - ''তোমরা কি শুনছ না?’’
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
(Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!"
He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers.
তিনি বললেন - - ''তোমাদের প্রভু এবং পূর্বকালের তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরও প্রভু।’’
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!"
(Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman!
সে বললে - - ''তোমাদের রসূলটি যাকে তোমাদের কাছে পাঠানো হয়েছে সে তো বদ্ধ পাগল।’’
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
(Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!"
He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand.
তিনি বললেন - - ''তিনি পূর্ব ও পশ্চিমের এবং এ দুইয়ের মধ্যে যা আছে তারও প্রভু, যদি তোমরা বুঝতে পারতে।’’
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
(Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!"
(Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners.
সে বললে - - ''তুমি যদি আমাকে ছাড়া অন্য উপাস্য গ্রহণ কর তবে আমি আলবৎ তোমাকে কয়েদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করব।’’
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
(Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?"
He said: Even though I show thee something plain ?
তিনি বললেন - - ''কী! আমি তোমার কাছে সুস্পষ্ট কিছু আনলেও?’’
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
(Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!"
(Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful!
সে বললে - - ''তবে তা নিয়ে এস যদি তুমি সত্যবাদীদের একজন হও।’’
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)!
Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest,
সুতরাং তিনি তাঁর লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করলেন, তখন আশ্চর্য! এটি এক স্পষ্ট সাপ হয়ে গেল।
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!
And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders.
আর তিনি তাঁর হাত বের করেলন, তখন দেখো! দর্শকদের কাছে তা সাদা হয়ে গেল।
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
(Pharaoh) said to the Chiefs around him: "This is indeed a sorcerer well - versed:
(Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard,
সে তার আশপাশের প্রধানদের বললে - - ''এ তো নিশ্চয়ই এক ওস্তাদ জাদুকর, - -
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
"His plan is to get you out of your land by his sorcery; then what is it ye counsel?"
Who would drive you out of your land by his magic. Now what counsel ye ?
''সে চাইছে তার জাদুর দ্বারা তোমাদের দেশ থেকে তোমাদের বের করে দিতে, কাজেই কী তোমরা উপদেশ দাও?’’
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
They said: "Keep him and his brother in suspense (for a while), and dispatch to the Cities heralds to collect -
They said: Put him off, (him) and his brother, and send into the cities summoners
তারা বললে - - ''তাকে ও তার ভাইকে অবকাশ দাও, আর শহরে শহরে সংগ্রাহকদের পাঠাও, - -
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
"And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well - versed."
Who shall bring unto thee every knowing wizard.
''যেন তারা প্রত্যেক জ্ঞানী জাদুকরদের তোমার কাছে নিয়ে আছে।’’
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
So the sorcerers were got together for the appointment of a day well - known,
So the wizards were gathered together at a set time on a day appointed.
সুতরাং জাদুকরদের একত্র করা হ’ল নির্দিষ্ট স্থানে বিজ্ঞাপিত দিনে,
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
And the people were told: "Are ye (now) assembled? -
And it was said unto the people: Are ye (also) gathering ?
আর লোকদের বলা হ’ল - - ''তোমরা কি জমায়েৎ হচ্ছ, - -
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?"
(They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners.
''যেন আমরা জাদুকরদের অনুগমন করতে পারি যদি তারা নিজেরা বিজয়ী হয়?’’
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win?
And when the wizards came they said unto Pharaoh: Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners ?
তারপর যখন জদুকররা এল তারা ফিরআউনকে বললে - - ''আমাদের জন্য কি বিশেষ পুরস্কার থাকবে যদি আমরা খোদ বিজয়ী হই?’’
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
He said: "Yea, (and more), - for ye shall in that case be (raised to posts) nearest (to my person)."
He said: Aye, and ye will then surely be of those brought near (to me).
সে বললে - - ''হাঁ, আর সেক্ষেত্রে তোমরা নিশ্চয়ই অন্তরঙ্গ হবে।’’
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
Moses said to them: "Throw ye - that which ye are about to throw!"
Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw!
মূসা তাদের বললেন - - ''ছোড়ো যা তোমরা ছুড়ঁতে যাচ্ছ।’’
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!"
Then they threw down their cords and their staves and said: By Pharaoh's might, lo! we verily are the winners.
সুতরাং তাদের দড়িদড়া ও তাদের লাঠি - লগুড় তারা ছুড়ঁলো এবং বললে - - ''ফিরআউনের প্রভাবে আমরা তো নিজেরাই বিজয়ী হব।’’
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ
Then Moses threw his rod, when, behold, it straightway swallows up all the falsehoods which they fake!
Then Moses threw his staff and lo! it swallowed that which they did falsely show.
তারপর মূসা তাঁর লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করলেন, তখন দেখো! এটি গিলে ফেলল যা তারা বুনেছিল।
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
Then did the sorcerers fall down, prostrate in adoration,
And the wizards were flung prostrate,
তখন জাদুকররা লুটিয়ে পড়ল সিজদাবনত হয়ে,
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,
তারা বললে, ''আমরা ঈমান আনলাম বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর প্রতি, - -
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.
''যিনি মূসা ও হারুনেরও প্রভু।’’
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
Said (Pharaoh): "Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? surely he is your leader, who has taught you sorcery! but soon shall ye know! Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross!"
(Pharaoh) said: Ye put your faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he doubtless is your chief who taught you magic! But verily ye shall come to know. Verily I will cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and verily I will crucify you every one.
সে বললে - - ''তোমরা তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলে আমি তোমাদের অনুমতি দেবার আগেই? সে - ই নিশ্চয় তোমাদের গুরু যে তোমাদের জাদুবিদ্যা শিখিয়েছে। সুতরাং শীঘ্রই তোমরা টের পাবে। আমি নিশ্চয় তোমাদের হাত ও তোমাদের পা আড়াআড়ি - ভাবে কেটে ফেলবই, আর তোমাদের সবাইকে শূলে চড়াব।’’
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
They said: "No matter! for us, we shall but return to our Lord!
They said: It is no hurt, for lo! unto our Lord we shall return.
তারা বললে - - ''কোনো ক্ষতি নেই, নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা আমাদের প্রভুর কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
"Only, our desire is that our Lord will forgive us our faults, that we may become foremost among the believers!"
Lo! we ardently hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we are the first of the believers.
''আমরা নিশ্চয়ই আশা করি যে আমাদের প্রভু আমাদের অপরাধসমূহ ক্ষমা করে দেবেন, যেহেতু আমরা মুমিনদের মধ্যে অগ্রণী।’’
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
By inspiration we told Moses: "Travel by night with my servants; for surely ye shall be pursued."
And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued.
আর আমরা মূসাকে প্রত্যাদেশ দিয়েছিলাম এই বলে - - ''আমার বান্দাদের নিয়ে রাতের মধ্যে রওয়ানা হয়ে যাও, তোমাদের অবশ্য পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করা হবে।’’
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
Then Pharaoh sent heralds to (all) the Cities,
Then Pharaoh sent into the cities summoners,
তখন ফিরআউন শহরে - নগরে সংগ্রাহকদের পাঠাল - -
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
(Saying): "These (Israelites) are but a small band,
(Who said): Lo! these indeed are but a little troop,
''নিঃসন্দেহ তারা একটি ছোটখাট দল,
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
"And they are raging furiously against us;
And lo! they are offenders against us.
''আর নিঃসন্দেহ আমাদের জন্য তারা তো ক্রোধ উদ্রেককারী,
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
"But we are a multitude amply fore - warned."
And lo! we are a ready host.
''আর আমরা তো নিশ্চয় সজাগ - সশস্ত্র জনতা।’’
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
So We expelled them from gardens, springs,
Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings,
কাজেই আমরা তাদের বের ক’রে আনলাম বাগানসমূহ ও ঝরনারাজি থেকে,
فَأَخْرَجْنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
Treasures, and every kind of honourable position;
And treasures and a fair estate.
আর ধনভান্ডার ও জমকালো বাড়িঘর থেকে, - -
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things.
Thus (were those things taken from them) and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them.
এইভাবেই। আর এইগুলো আমরা ইসরাইলের বংশধরদের উত্তরাধিকার করতে দিয়েছিলাম।
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
So they pursued them at sunrise.
And they overtook them at sunrise.
তারপর তারা এদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করেছিল সূর্যোদয়কালে।
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken."
And when the two hosts saw each other, those with Moses said: Lo! we are indeed caught.
অতঃপর যখন দুই দল পরস্পরকে দেখল তখন মূসার সঙ্গীরা বললে - - ''আমরা তো নিঃসন্দেহ ধরা পড়ে গেলাম।’’
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
(Moses) said: "By no means! my Lord is with me! Soon will He guide me!"
He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me.
তিনি বললেন - - ''নিশ্চয়ই না, আমার সঙ্গে আলবৎ আমার প্রভু রয়েছেন, তিনি আমাকে অচিরেই পথ দেখাবেন।’’
قَالَ كَلَّآ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
Then We told Moses by inspiration: "Strike the sea with thy rod." So it divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.
Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast.
তখন আমরা মূসার নিকট প্রত্যাদেশ দিলাম এই বলে - - ''তোমার লাঠি দিয়ে সমুদ্রে আঘাত কর।’’ ফলে এটি বিভক্ত হয়ে গেল, সুতরাং প্রত্যেক দল এক - একটি বিরাট পাহাড়ের মতো হয়েছিল।
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And We made the other party approach thither.
Then brought We near the others to that place.
আর অন্যদেরকেও আমরা নিয়ে এলাম সেই অঞ্চলে।
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
We delivered Moses and all who were with him;
And We saved Moses and those with him, every one;
আর মূসাকে ও তাঁর সঙ্গে যারা ছিল সে - সবাইকে আমরা উদ্ধার করেছিলাম।
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
But We drowned the others.
And We drowned the others.
তারপর অন্যদেরকে আমরা ডুবিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম।
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো একটি নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story.
Recite unto them the story of Abraham:
আর তুমি তাদের কাছে ইব্রাহীমের কাহিনী বর্ণনা করো।
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?"
When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye ?
স্মরণ করো! তিনি তাঁর পিতৃপুরুষকে ও তাঁর স্বজাতিকে বললেন - - ''তোমরা কিসের উপাসনা কর?’’
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them."
They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them.
তারা বললে - - ''আমরা প্রতিমাদের পূজা করি, আর আমরা তাদের আরাধনায় নিষ্ঠাবান থাকব।’’
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?"
He said: Do they hear you when ye cry ?
তিনি বললেন, ''তারা কি তোমাদের শোনে যখন তোমরা ডাকো?
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
"Or do you good or harm?"
Or do they benefit or harm you ?
''অথবা তারা কি তোমাদের উপকার করতে পারে কিংবা অপকার করতে পারে?’’
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)."
They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise.
তারা বললে - - ''না, আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের আমরা দেখতে পেয়েছি এইভাবে তারা করছে ।’’
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping, -
He said: See now that which ye worship,
তিনি বললেন - - ''তোমরা কি তবে ভেবে দেখেছ তোমরা কিসের উপাসনা করছ, - -
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
"Ye and your fathers before you? -
Ye and your forefathers!
''তোমরা ও তোমাদের পূর্বগামী পিতৃপুরুষরা?
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
"For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds;
Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds,
''অতএব তারা আলবৎ আমার শত্রু, কিন্ত ভূ - বিশ্বের প্রভু নন,
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"Who created me, and it is He Who guides me;
Who created me, and He doth guide me,
''যিনি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তারপর তিনি আমাকে পথ দেখিয়েছেন,
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
"Who gives me food and drink,
And Who feedeth me and watereth me.
''আর যিনি আমাকে আহার করান এবং পান করতে দেন,
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
"And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me;
And when I sicken, then He healeth me,
''আর যখন আমি রোগে ভোগি তখন তিনিই আমাকে আরোগ্য করেন,
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
"Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again);
And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again),
''আর যিনি, আমার মৃত্যু ঘটাবেন তারপরে আমাকে পুনর্জীবন দেবেন,
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
"And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment.
And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment.
''আর যিনি, আমি আশা করি, বিচারের দিনে আমার ভুলভ্রান্তিগুলো আমার জন্য ক্ষমা করে দেবেন।
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
"O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous;
My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous.
''আমার প্রভু! আমাকে জ্ঞান দান করো, আর আমাকে সৎকর্মীদের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করো।
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
"Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations);
And give unto me a good report in later generations.
''আর আমার জন্য পরবর্তীদের মধ্যে সদালাপন সৃষ্টি করো।
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ
"Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss;
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight,
''আর আমাকে আনন্দময় উদ্যানের ওয়ারিশানের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করো।
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
"Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray;
And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err.
''আর আমার পিতৃপুরুষকে পরিত্রাণ করো, কেননা সে তো পথভ্রান্তদের মধ্যেকার হয়ে গেছে।
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
"And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up; -
And abase me not on the day when they are raised,
''আর আমাকে লাঞ্ছিত করো না তখন যেইদিন তাদের পুরুত্থিত করা হবে, - -
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
"The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man)
''যেদিন ধনসম্পদে কোনো কাজ দেবে না, সন্তানাদিতেও নয়,
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
"But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart;
Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart.
''শুধু সে ব্যতীত যে নির্মল - নিস্পাপ অন্তর নিয়ে র কাছে আসবে।’’
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
"To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near,
And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil).
আর স্বর্গোদ্যানকে ধর্মভীরুদের জন্য সন্নিকটে আনা হবে,
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
"And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view;
And hell will appear plainly to the erring.
আর দুযখকে খোলে দেওয়া হবে পথভ্রষ্টদের জন্য।
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
"And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped -
And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship
আর তাদের বলা হবে - - ''কোথায় তারা যাদের তোমরা উপাসনা করতে - -
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
"'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?'
Instead of Allah ? Can they help you or help themselves ?
''কে বাদ দিয়ে? তারা কি তোমাদের সাহায্য করছে, না তারা নিজেদেরই সাহায্য করতে পারছে?’’
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
"Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire), - they and those straying in Evil,
Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers
সুতরাং তাদের এর মধ্যে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে - - তাদের এবং পথভ্রান্তদের,
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
"And the whole hosts of Iblis together.
And the hosts of Iblis, together.
আর ইবলীসের দলবল সকলকেও।
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
"They will say there in their mutual bickerings:
And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein:
তারা সেখানে তর্ক - বিতর্ক করতে করতে বলবে - -
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
"'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest,
By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest
''র দিব্য, আমরা তো স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতেই ছিলাম, - -
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
"'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds;
When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds.
''যখন আমরা বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর সঙ্গে তোমাদের এক - সমান গণ্য করেছিলাম।
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt.
It was but the guilty who misled us.
''আর অপরাধীরা ছাড়া অন্য কেউ আমাদের বিপথে নেয় নি।
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
"'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us),
Now we have no intercessors
''সেজন্যে আমাদের জন্য সুপারিশকারীদের কেউ নেই,
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
"'Nor a single friend to feel (for us).
Nor any loving friend.
''আর কোনো অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধুও নেই।
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
"'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'"
Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers!
''হায়! আমাদের জন্য যদি আকেরবার উপায় থাকত তাহলে আমরা মুমিনদের মধ্যেকার হতাম।’’
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers!
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু, - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The people of Noah rejected the messengers.
Noah's folk denied the messengers (of Allah),
নূহের স্বজাতি রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Behold, their brother Noah said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
When their brother Noah said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
দেখো! তাদের ভাই নূহ তাদের বলেছিলেন - - ''তোমরা কি ধর্মপরায়ণতা অবলন্বন করবে না?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
''আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রসূল,
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভয় - ভক্তি কর ও আমাকে মেনে চল।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds:
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
''আর আমি এর জন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোনো পারিশ্রমিক চাই না, আমার মজুরি তো বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"So fear Allah, and obey me."
So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভক্তি - শ্রদ্ধা কর ও আমার আজ্ঞাপালন কর।’’
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?"
They said: Shall we put faith in thee, when the lowest (of the people) follow thee ?
তারা বললে - - ''আমরা কি তোমার প্রতি ঈমান আনব যখন তোমাকে অনুসরণ করছে ইতরগোষ্ঠী?’’
قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
He said: "And what do I know as to what they do?
He said: And what knowledge have I of what they may have been doing (in the past) ?
তিনি বললেন - - ''তারা কী করত সে সন্বন্ধে আর আমার জ্ঞান থাকবার নয়।
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
"Their account is only with my Lord, if ye could (but) understand.
Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew;
''তাদের হিসাবপত্র আমার প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়, যদি তোমরা বুঝতে!
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
"I am not one to drive away those who believe.
And I am not (here) to repulse believers.
''আর আমি তো মুমিনদের তাড়িয়ে দেবার পাত্র নই।
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
"I am sent only to warn plainly in public."
I am only a plain warner.
''আমি একজন স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী ভিন্ন নই।’’
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)."
They said: If thou cease not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be among those stoned (to death).
তারা বললে - - ''হে নূহ! তুমি যদি না থামো তাহলে তোমাকে অবশ্যই প্রস্তরাঘাতে - নিহতদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হবে।’’
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
He said: "O my Lord! truly my people have rejected me.
He said: My Lord! Lo! my own folk deny me.
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু! আমার স্বজাতি আমাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে।
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
"Judge Thou, then, between me and them openly, and deliver me and those of the Believers who are with me."
Therefor judge Thou between us, a (conclusive) judgment, and save me and those believers who are with me.
''অতএব আমার মধ্যে ও তাদের মধ্যে একটি সিদ্ধান্ত এনে মীমাংসা করে দাও, আর আমাকে ও আমার সাথে মুমিনদের যারা রয়েছে তাদের উদ্ধার করে দাও।’’
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
So We delivered him and those with him, in the Ark filled (with all creatures).
And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
সুতরাং আমরা তাঁকে ও তাঁর সাথে যারা ছিল তাদের উদ্ধার করলাম বোঝাই করা জাহাজে।
فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind.
Then afterward We drowned the others.
তারপর আমরা ডুবিয়ে দিলাম পরবর্তী অবশিষ্টদের।
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।

আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু, - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers.
(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah).
আর 'আদ জাতি রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
দেখো, তাদের ভাই হূদ তাদের বলেছিলেন - - ''তোমরা কি ধর্মপরায়ণতা অবলন্বন করবে না?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
''আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রসূল,
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
"So fear Allah and obey me.
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভয় কর ও আমাকে মেনে চল।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
''আর আমি এ - জন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোনো মজুরি চাই না, আমার নজুরি তো ভূ - বিশ্বের প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?
Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight ?
''তোমরা কি প্রত্যেক পাহাড়ে অযথা স্তম্ভ নির্মাণ করছ,
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
"And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)?
And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever ?
''আর দুর্গ তৈরি করছ যেন তোমরা চিরস্থায়ী হবে?’’
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
"And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power?
And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants ?
''আর যখন তোমরা পাকড়াও কর তখন জবরদস্তভাবে পাকড়াও করে থাক।
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
"Now fear Allah, and obey me.
Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
''সুতরাং তোমরা কে ভক্তিশ্রদ্ধা কর ও আমার আজ্ঞাপালন কর।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know.
Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know,
''আর ভয় - ভক্তি কর তাঁকে যিনি তোমাদের মদদ করেছেন যা তোমরা শিখেছ তা দিয়ে, - -
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
"Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons, -
Hath aided you with cattle and sons.
''আর তিনি তোমাদের সাহায্য করেছেন গবাদি - পশু ও সন্তান - সন্ততি দিয়ে,
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
"And Gardens and Springs.
And gardens and watersprings.
''আর বাগানসমূহ ও ফোয়ারাগুলো দিয়ে।
وَجَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
"Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."
Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day.
''নিঃসন্দেহ আমি আশংকা করছি তোমাদের উপরে এক মহাদিনের শাস্তির।’’
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers!
They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach;
তারা বললে - - ''তুমি উপদেশ দাও অথবা উপদেশদাতাদের মধ্যে তুমি নাই - বা হও আমাদের কাছে সবই সমান।
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
"This is no other than a customary device of the ancients,
This is but a fable of the men of old,
''এ তো সেকেলে আচরণ ছাড়া কিছুই নয়,
إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
"And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"
And we shall not be doomed.
''আর আমরা শাস্তি পাবার নই।’’
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
কাজেই তারা তাঁকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করল, সুতরাং আমরা তাদের ধ্বংস করেছিলাম। নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু, - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers.
(The tribe of) Thamud denied the messengers (of Allah)
আর ছামূদ জাতি রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)?
When their brother Salih said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
দেখো, তাদের ভাই সালিহ্ তাদের বলেছিলেন - - ''তোমরা কি ধর্মভীরুতা অবলন্বন করবে না?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
''আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রসূল,
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
"So fear Allah, and obey me.
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভয় - ভক্তি কর ও আমাকে মেনে চল!
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
''আর আমি এর জন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোনো মজুরি চাই না, আমার মজুরি তো বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? -
Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us,
''এখানে যা আছে তাতে কি তোমাদের নিরাপদে রেখে দেওয়া হবে, - -
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
"Gardens and Springs,
In gardens and watersprings.
''বাগানসমূহে ও ফোয়ারাগুলোয়,
فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
"And corn - fields and date - palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)?
And tilled fields and heavy - sheathed palm - trees,
''আর শস্যক্ষেত্রে ও খেজুর - বাগানে যার ছড়িগুলো ভারী?
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
"And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill.
Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful ?
''তোমরা তো পাহাড় খুদে বাড়িঘর তৈরি কর নিপুণভাবে।
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَٰرِهِينَ
"But fear Allah and obey me;
Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me,
''সুতরাং তোমরা কে ভক্তি - শ্রদ্ধা কর ও আমার আজ্ঞাপালন কর।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"And follow not the bidding of those who are extravagant, -
And obey not the command of the prodigal,
''আর সীমালংঘনকারীদের নির্দেশ মেনে চল না, - -
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
"Who make mischief in the land, and mend not (their ways)."
Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not.
''যারা দেশে অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করে আর শান্তিস্থাপন করে না।’’
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;
তারা বললে - - ''তুমি তো নিঃসন্দেহ জাদুগ্রস্তদেরই একজন।
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!"
Thou art but a mortal like us. So bring some token if thou art of the truthful.
''তুমি আমাদের মতো মানুষ ছাড়া আর কিছু নও, অতএব কোনো এক নিদর্শন নিয়ে এস যদি তুমি সত্যবাদীদের মধ্যেকার হও।’’
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said: "Here is a she - camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a day appointed.
He said: (Behold) this she - camel. She hath the right to drink (at the well), and ye have the right to drink, (each) on an appointed day.
তিনি বললেন - - ''এই একটি উষ্টী, তার জন্য পানীয় থাকবে আর তোমাদের জন্যও পানীয় থাকবে নির্ধারিত সময়ে।
قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
"Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you."
And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day.
''আর তোমরা অনিষ্ট দিয়ে ওকে স্পর্শ করো না, পাছে এক ভয়ংকর দিনের শাস্তি তোমাদের পাকড়াও করে।’’
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
But they ham - strung her: then did they become full of regrets.
But they hamstrung her, and then were penitent.
কিন্ত তারা এটিকে হত্যা করলে, পরিণামে সকাল - সকালই তারা পরিতাপকারী হল।
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَٰدِمِينَ
But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
সেজন্য শাস্তি তাদের পাকড়াও করল। নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয় ।
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The people of Lut rejected the messengers.
The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah),
আর লূতের লোকদল রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
দেখো! তাদের ভাই লূত তাদের বলেছিলেন - - ''তোমরা কি ধর্মভীরুতা অবলন্বন করবে না?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
''আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রসূল,
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
"So fear Allah and obey me.
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভয়ভক্তি কর ও আমাকে মেনে চল।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds.
And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
''আর আমি এর জন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোনো মজুরি চাই না, আমার মজুরি তো বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males,
What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males,
''তোমরা কি মানুষজাতীর মধ্যে পুরুষদের কাছেই এসে থাক,
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"
And leave the wives your Lord created for you ? Nay, but ye are froward folk.
''আর পরিত্যাগ করছ তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের যাদের তোমাদের প্রভু তোমাদের জন্য সৃষ্টি করেছেন? না, তোমরা তো সীমালংঘনকারী জাতি।’’
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!"
They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast.
তারা বললে - - ''হে লূত! তুমি যদি বিরত না হও তাহলে তুমি নিশ্চয়ই নির্বাসিতদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে।’’
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
He said: "I do detest your doings."
He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct.
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের আচরণকে ঘৃণাকারীদেরই একজন।
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
"O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!"
My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do.
''আমার প্রভু! তারা যা করে তা থেকে আমাকে ও আমার পরিবার পরিজনকে উদ্ধার করো।’’
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
So We delivered him and his family, - all
So We saved him and his household, every one,
সুতরাং আমরা তাঁকে ও তাঁর পরিবারবর্গকে একই সঙ্গে উদ্ধার করলাম, - -
فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
Except an old woman who lingered behind.
Save an old woman among those who stayed behind.
এক বুড়ীকে ছাড়া, যে পেছনে - পড়ে - থাকাদের মধ্যে রয়েছিল।
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
But the rest We destroyed utterly.
Then afterward We destroyed the others.
তারপর আমরা অন্যান্যদের বিধ্বংস করেছিলাম।
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ
We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!
And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
আর তাদের উপরে আমরা বর্ষণ করেছিলাম এক বৃষ্টি, - - সুতরাং কত মন্দ এই বৃষ্টি সতককৃতদের জন্য।
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful.
And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু, - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers.
The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah),
আইকার অধিবাসীরা রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil) ?
দেখো, শোআইব তাদের বলেছিলেন - - ''তোমরা কি ধর্মপরায়ণতা অবলন্বন করবে না?
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
"I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust.
Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
''আমি নিশ্চয়ই তোমাদের জন্য একজন বিশ্বস্ত রসূল,
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
"So fear Allah and obey me.
So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
''অতএব তোমরা কে ভয়ভক্তি কর ও আমাকে মেনে চল।
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
"No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
''আর আমি এর জন্য তোমাদের কাছে কোনো পারিশ্রমিক চাই না, আমার পারিশ্রমিক তো বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর কাছে ছাড়া অন্যত্র নয়।
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
"Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud).
Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due).
''মাপে পুরোমাত্রায় দেবে, আর তোমরা মাপে - কম - করা লোকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ো না।
أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
"And weigh with scales true and upright.
And weigh with the true balance.
''সঠিক পাল্লায় ওজন করো।
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
"And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief.
Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth.
''আর লোকজনের ক্ষতিসাধন করো না তাদের বিষয়বস্তু সন্বন্ধে, আর দুনিয়াতে বিপর্যয় ঘটিয়ো না অনিষ্টাচরণ ক’রে।
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
"And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)"
And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old.
''আর ভয় - ভক্তি করো তাঁকে যিনি তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং পূর্ববর্তী লোকদেরও।’’
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched!
They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched;
তারা বললে - - ''তুমি তো আলবৎ জাদুগ্রস্তদের মধ্যেকার,’’
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
"Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar!
Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars.
''আর তুমি আমাদের ন্যায় একজন মানুষ ছাড়া আর কিছুই নও, আর আমরা তোমাকে মিথ্যাবাদীদের একজন বলেই তো গণনা করি।
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
"Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!"
Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful.
''অতএব আকাশের একটি টুকরো আমাদের উপরে ফেলে দাও, যদি তুমি সত্যবাদীদের মধ্যেকার হও।’’
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do."
He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do.
তিনি বললেন - - ''আমার প্রভু ভাল জানেন কী তোমরা কর।’’
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day.
But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day.
কিন্ত তারা তাঁকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করল, সেজন্যে এক অন্ধকার দিনের শাস্তি তাদের পাকড়াও করল। নিঃসন্দেহ এটি ছিল এক ভীষণ দিনে শাস্তি।
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে তো এক নিদর্শন রয়েছে, কিন্ত তাদের অধিকাংশই নয়।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ তোমার প্রভু, - - তিনিই তো মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতা।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds:
And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds,
আর নিঃসন্দেহ এটি নিশ্চয়ই বিশ্বজগতের প্রভুর তরফ থেকে এক অবতারণ।
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth -
Which the True Spirit hath brought down
রুহুল আমীন এটি নিয়ে অবতরণ করেছেন - -
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish.
Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners,
তোমার হৃদয়ের উপরে, যেন তুমি সতর্ককারীদের অন্যতম হতে পার, - -
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
In the perspicuous Arabic tongue.
In plain Arabic speech.
সুস্পষ্ট আরবী ভাষায়।
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples.
And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old.
আর নিঃসন্দেহ এটি পূর্ববর্তীদের ধর্মগ্রন্থে রয়েছে ।
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?
Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it ?
একি তাদের জন্য একটি নিদর্শন নয় যে ইসরাইলের বংশধরদের পন্ডিতগণ এটি জানে?
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Had We revealed it to any of the non - Arabs,
And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs,
আর আমরা যদি এটি অবতারণ করতাম কোনো ভিন্ন দেশীয়ের কাছে,
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it.
And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it.
আর সে এটি তাদের কাছে পাঠ করত, তাহলে তারা তাতে বিশ্বাসভাজন হতো না।
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners.
Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty.
এইভাবেই আমরা এটিকে প্রবেশ করিয়েছি অপরাধীদের অন্তরে।
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty;
They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom,
তারা এতে বিশ্বাস করবে না যে পর্যন্ত না তারা মর্মন্তুদ শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করে।
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;
So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not.
সুতরাং এ তাদের কাছে আসবে আকস্মিকভাবে, আর তারা টের পাবে না।
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?"
Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved ?
তখন তারা বলবে - - ''আমরা কি অবকাশ প্রাপ্ত হব?’’
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on?
Would they (now) hasten on Our doom ?
কী, তারা কি এখনও আমাদের শাস্তি সন্বন্ধে তাড়াতাড়ি করতে চায়?
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years,
Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years,
তুমি কি তবে লক্ষ্য করেছ - - যদি আমরা তাদের বহু বছর ভোগ - বিলাস করতে দিই।
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised!
And then cometh that which they were promised,
তারপর তাদের কাছে এসে পড়ে যা তাদের ওয়াদা করা হয়েছিল - -
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)!
(How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them ?
তবু যা তাদের উপভোগ করতে দেওয়া হয়েছিল তা তাদের কোনো কাজে আসবে না?
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners -
And We destroyed no township but it had its warners
আর আমরা কোনো জনপদ ধ্বংস করি নি যার সতর্ককারী ছিল না।
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
By way of reminder; and We never are unjust.
For reminder, for We never were oppressors.
স্মারকগ্রন্থ, আর আমরা কখনও অন্যায়কারী নই।
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation):
The devils did not bring it down.
আর শয়তানরা এ নিয়ে অবতরণ করে নি,
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it).
It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power,
আর তাদের পক্ষে এ সমীচীন নয়, আর তারা সামর্থ্যও রাখে না।
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it.
Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing.
নিঃসন্দেহ শুনবার ক্ষেত্রে তারা তো অপারগ।
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty.
Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed.
সুতরাং তুমি র সাথে অন্য উপাস্যকে ডেকো না, পাছে তুমি শাস্তিপ্রাপ্তদের মধ্যেকার হয়ে যাও।
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
And admonish thy nearest kinsmen,
And warn thy tribe of near kindred,
আর তোমার নিকটতম আত্মীয়দের সাবধান করে দাও,
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee.
And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee.
আর তোমার ডানা আনত করো মুমিনদের যারা তোমাকে অনুসরণ করে তাদের প্রতি।
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!"
And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do.
কিন্ত তারা যদি তোমার অবাধ্যতা করে তবে বলো - - ''আমি আলবৎ দায়মুক্ত তোমরা যা কর সে সন্বন্ধে।’’
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, -
And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful.
আর তুমি নির্ভর কর মহাশক্তিশালী, অফুরন্ত ফলদাতার উপরে, - -
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer),
Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray)
যিনি তোমাকে দেখেন যখন তুমি দাঁড়াও,
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves,
And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship).
এবং সিজদাকারীদের সঙ্গে তোমার উঠা - বসা করতে।
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things.
Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower.
নিঃসন্দেহ তিনি - - তিনিই সর্বশ্রোতা, সর্বজ্ঞাতা।
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend?
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend ?
আমি কি তোমাদের জানাব কাদের উপরে শয়তানরা অবতরণ করে?
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
They descend on every lying, wicked person,
They descend on every sinful, false one.
তারা অবতরণ করে প্রত্যেক মিথ্যাবাদী পাপাচারীর উপরে,
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
(Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars.
They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars.
তারা কান পাতে, আর তাদের অধিকাংশই মিথ্যাবাদী।
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَٰذِبُونَ
And the Poets, - It is those straying in Evil, who follow them:
As for poets, the erring follow them.
আর কবিগণ, - - তাদের অনুসরণ করে ভ্রান্তপথগামীরা।
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley? -
Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley,
তুমি কি দেখ না যে তারা নিঃসন্দেহ প্রত্যেক উপত্যকায় লক্ষ্যহীনভাবে ঘুরে বেড়ায়,
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
And that they say what they practise not? -
And how they say that which they do not ?
আর তারা নিশ্চয়ই তাই বলে যা তারা করে না? - -
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!
Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned!
তবে তারা ব্যতীত যারা ঈমান আনে ও সৎকাজ করে, এবং কে খুব ক’রে স্মরণ করে, আর অত্যাচারিত হবার পরে প্রতিরক্ষা করে। আর যারা অন্যায় করে তারা অচিরেই জানতে পারবে কোন বিপর্যয়ের মধ্যে তারা প্রত্যাবর্তন করছে।
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
