Chapter 54, 55 verses
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder.
কিয়ামত নিকটবর্তী হয়েছে এবং চাঁদ বিদীর্ণ হয়েছে।
ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."
And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic.
আর তারা কোন নিদর্শন দেখলে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, ‘চলমান যাদু’।
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.
And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term.
আর তারা অস্বীকার করে এবং নিজ নিজ প্রবৃত্তির অনুসরণ করে। অথচ প্রতিটি বিষয় (শেষ সীমায়) স্থির হবে।
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),
And certainly some narratives have come to them wherein is prevention - -
আর তাদের কাছে তো সংবাদসমূহ এসেছে, যাতে রয়েছে উপদেশবাণী,
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
Mature wisdom; - but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not.
Consummate wisdom - - but warnings do not avail;
পরিপূর্ণ হিকমাত। তবে সতর্কবাণী তাদের কোন উপকারে আসেনি।
حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair,
So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task,
অতএব তুমি তাদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নাও, সেদিন আহবানকারী আহবান করবে এক বিভীষিকাময় বিষয়ের দিকে,
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍ نُّكُرٍ
They will come forth, - their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,
Their eyes cast down, going forth from their graves as if they were scattered locusts,
তারা তাদের দৃষ্টি অবনত অবস্থায় কবর থেকে বের হয়ে আসবে। মনে হবে যেন তারা বিক্ষিপ্ত পঙ্গপাল।
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ
Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller! - "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say.
Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day.
তারা আহবানকারীর দিকে ভীত-সন্ত্রস্ত অবস্থায় ছুটে আসবে। কাফিররা বলবে, ‘এটি বড়ই কঠিন দিন’।
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ
Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out.
Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away.
তাদের পূর্বে নূহের কওমও অস্বীকার করেছিল। তারা আমার বান্দাকে অস্বীকার করেছিল এবং বলেছিল, ‘পাগল’। আর তাকে হুমকি দেয়া হয়েছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌ وَٱزْدُجِرَ
Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!"
Therefore he called upon his Lord: I am overcome, come Thou then to help.
অতঃপর সে তার রবকে আহবান করল যে, ‘নিশ্চয় আমি পরাজিত, অতএব তুমিই প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ কর’।
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌ فَٱنتَصِرْ
So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.
So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring
ফলে আমি বর্ষণশীল বারিধারার মাধ্যমে আসমানের দরজাসমূহ খুলে দিলাম।
فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍ مُّنْهَمِرٍ
And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.
And We made water to flow forth in the land in springs, so the water gathered together according to a measure already ordained.
আর ভূমিতে আমি ঝর্না উৎসারিত করলাম। ফলে সকল পানি মিলিত হল নির্ধারিত নির্দেশনা অনুসারে।
وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ
But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm - fibre:
And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails
আর আমি তাকে (নূহকে) কাঠ ও পেরেক নির্মিত নৌযানে আরোহণ করালাম।
وَحَمَلْنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)!
Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied.
যা আমার চাক্ষুস তত্ত্বাবধানে চলত, তার জন্য পুরস্কারস্বরূপ, যাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করা হয়েছিল।
تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءً لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who
আর আমি তাকে নিদর্শন হিসেবে রেখেছি। অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning?
How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
অতএব আমার আযাব ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কেমন ছিল?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?
আর আমি তো কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি উপদেশ গ্রহণের জন্য। অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning?
Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning!
‘আদ জাতি অস্বীকার করেছিল, অতএব আমার আযাব ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কিরূপ হয়েছিল?
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster,
Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill - luck
নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের ওপর পাঠিয়েছিলাম প্রচন্ড শীতল ঝড়ো হাওয়া, অব্যাহত এক অমঙ্গল দিনে।
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm - trees torn up (from the ground).
Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm - trees torn up.
তা মানুষকে উৎখাত করেছিল। যেন তারা উৎপাটিত খেজুরগাছের কান্ড।
تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ
Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning!
How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
অতএব আমার আযাব ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কিরূপ হয়েছিল?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?
আর আমি তো কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি উপদেশ গ্রহণের জন্য। অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners.
Samood rejected the warning.
সামূদ জাতিও সতর্ককারীদেরকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad!
So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress:
অতঃপর তারা বলেছিল, ‘আমরা কি আমাদেরই মধ্য থেকে এক ব্যক্তির অনুসরণ করব? তাহলে নিশ্চয় আমরা পথভ্রষ্টতা ও উম্মত্ততার মধ্যে পড়ব’।
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍ وَسُعُرٍ
"Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!"
Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar!
‘আমাদের মধ্য থেকে কি তার ওপরই উপদেশবাণী পাঠানো হয়েছে ? বরং সে চরম মিথ্যাবাদী অহঙ্কারী’।
أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one!
Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one.
আগামী দিন তারা জানতে পারবে, কে চরম মিথ্যাবাদী, অহঙ্কারী।
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ
For We will send the she - camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience!
Surely We are going to send the she - camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience.
নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের জন্য পরীক্ষাস্বরূপ উষ্ট্রী পাঠাচ্ছি। অতএব তুমি তাদের ব্যাপারে অপেক্ষা কর এবং ধৈর্যধারণ কর।
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ
And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns).
And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated.
আর তাদেরকে জানিয়ে দাও যে, তাদের মধ্যে পানি বণ্টন সুনির্দিষ্ট। প্রত্যেকেই (পালাক্রমে) পানির অংশে উপস্থিত হবে।
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her).
But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her).
অতঃপর তারা তাদের সাথীকে ডেকে আনল। তখন সে উষ্ট্রীকে ধরল, তারপর হত্যা করল।
فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning!
How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
অতএব আমার আযাব ও ভয় প্রদর্শন কিরূপ হয়েছিল?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle.
Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects.
নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলাম এক বিকট আওয়াজ, ফলে তারা খোয়াড় প্রস্তুতকারীর খন্ডিত শুষ্ক খড়ের মত হয়ে গেল।
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?
আর আমি তো কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি উপদেশ গ্রহণের জন্য। অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
The people of Lut rejected (his) warning.
The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie.
লূতের কওম সতর্ককারীদেরকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছিল।
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn, -
Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak,
নিশ্চয় আমি তাদের উপর কংকর-ঝড় পাঠিয়েছিলাম, তবে লূত পরিবারের উপর নয়। আমি তাদেরকে শেষ রাতে নাজাত দিয়েছিলাম,
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٍ
As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks.
A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks.
আমার কাছ থেকে অনুগ্রহস্বরূপ। এভাবেই আমি তাকে প্রতিদান দেই, যে কৃতজ্ঞ হয়।
نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَن شَكَرَ
And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning.
And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning.
আর লূত তো তাদেরকে আমার কঠিন পাকড়াও সম্পর্কে সাবধান করেছিল, তারপরও তারা সাবধান বাণী সম্পর্কে সন্দেহ পোষণ করেছিল।
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."
And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning.
আর তারা তার কাছে তার মেহমানদেরকে (অসদুদ্দেশ্যে) দাবী করল। তখন আমি তাদের চোখগুলোকে অন্ধ করে দিলাম। (আর বললাম) আমার আযাব ও সাবধানবাণীর পরিণাম আস্বাদন কর।
وَلَقَدْ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them:
And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning.
আর সকাল বেলা তাদের উপর অবিরত আযাব নেমে আসল।
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
"So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."
So taste My chastisement and My warning.
‘আর আমার আযাব ও সাবধানবাণীর পরিণাম আস্বাদন কর’।
فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind?
আর আমি তো কুরআনকে সহজ করে দিয়েছি, উপদেশ গ্রহণের জন্য। অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah).
And certainly the warning came to Firon's people.
ফির‘আউন গোষ্ঠীর কাছেও তো সাবধানবাণী এসেছিল।
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will.
They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One.
তারা আমার সকল নিদর্শনকে অস্বীকার করল, অতএব আমি মহাপরাক্রমশালী, সর্বশক্তিমানের মতই তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করলাম।
كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books?
Are the unbelievers of yours better than these, or is there an exemption for you in the scriptures?
তোমাদের (মক্কার) কাফিররা কি তাদের চেয়ে ভাল? না কি তোমাদের জন্য মুক্তির কোন ঘোষণা রয়েছে (আসমানী) কিতাবসমূহের মধ্যে?
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٌ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"?
Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other?
না কি তারা বলে, ‘আমরা সংঘবদ্ধ বিজয়ী দল’?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ
Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs.
Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs.
সংঘবদ্ধ দলটি শীঘ্রই পরাজিত হবে এবং পিঠ দেখিয়ে পালাবে।
سَيُهْزَمُ ٱلْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter.
Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter.
বরং কিয়ামত তাদের প্রতিশ্রুত সময়। আর কিয়ামত অতি ভয়ঙ্কর ও তিক্ততর।
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad.
Surely the guilty are in error and distress.
নিশ্চয় অপরাধীরা রয়েছে পথভ্রষ্টতা ও (পরকালে) প্রজ্জ্বলিত আগুনে।
إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍ وَسُعُرٍ
The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!"
On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell.
সেদিন তাদেরকে উপুড় করে টেনে হিঁচড়ে জাহান্নামে নেয়া হবে। (বলা হবে) জাহান্নামের ছোঁয়া আস্বাদন কর।
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.
Surely We have created everything according to a measure.
নিশ্চয় আমি সব কিছু সৃষ্টি করেছি নির্ধারিত পরিমাণ অনুযায়ী।
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٍ
And Our Command is but a single (Act), - like the twinkling of an eye.
And Our command is but one, as the twinkling of an eye.
আর আমার আদেশ তো কেবল একটি কথা, চোখের পলকের মত।
وَمَآ أَمْرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍۭ بِٱلْبَصَرِ
And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition?
And certainly We have already destroyed the likes of you, but is there anyone who will mind?
আর আমি তো তোমাদের মত অনেককে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি, অতএব কোন উপদেশ গ্রহণকারী আছে কি?
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَآ أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
All that they do is noted in (their) Books (of Deeds):
And everything they have done is in the writings.
আর তারা যা করেছে, সব কিছুই ‘আমলনামায়’ রয়েছে।
وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
Every matter, small and great, is on record.
And everything small and great is written down.
আর ছোট বড় সব কিছুই লিখিত আছে।
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُّسْتَطَرٌ
As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers,
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers,
নিশ্চয় মুত্তাকীরা থাকবে বাগ-বাগিচা ও ঝর্ণাধারার মধ্যে।
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَنَهَرٍ
In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent.
In the seat of honor with a most Powerful King.
যথাযোগ্য আসনে, সর্বশক্তিমান মহাঅধিপতির নিকটে।
فِى مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍۭ
