Al Ma'un

Yusuf Ali

1 Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)?

Transliteration

1 Araayta allathee yukaththibu bialddeeni

1 In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Have you seen him who denies the Recompense?

Yusuf Ali

2 Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),

Transliteration

2 Fathalika allathee yaduAAAAu alyateema

2 That is he who repulses the orphan (harshly),

3 And encourages not the feeding of the indigent.

Transliteration

3 Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni

3 And urges not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor),

4 So woe to the worshippers

Transliteration

4 Fawaylun lilmusalleena

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

4 So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers) (hypocrites),

5 Who are neglectful of their prayers,

Transliteration

5 Allatheena hum AAan salatihim sahoona

5 Those who delay their Salat (prayer from their stated fixed times).

6 Those who (want but) to be seen (of men),

Transliteration

6 Allatheena hum yuraoona

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

6 Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men),

Yusuf Ali

7 But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.

Transliteration

7 WayamnaAAoona almaAAoona

Hilali & Muhsin Khan

7 And prevent Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses like salt, sugar, water).
