Chapter 75, 40 verses
I do call to witness the Resurrection Day;
La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamati
না, আমি শপথ করছি কিয়ামতের দিনের।
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
And I do call to witness the self - reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil).
Wala oqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamati
আর না, আমি শপথ করছি আত্মসমালোচনাপরায়ণ আত্মার।
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?
Ayahsabu alinsanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahu
মানুষ কি মনে করে যে আমরা কখনো তার হাড়গোড় একত্রিত করব না?
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.
Bala qadireena AAala an nusawwiya bananahu
হাঁ, আমরা তার আঙুলগুলো পর্যন্ত পুনর্বিন্যস্ত করতে সক্ষম।
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.
Bal yureedu alinsanu liyafjura amamahu
তবুও মানুষ চায় যা তার সামনে রয়েছে তা অস্বীকার করতে।
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
Yasalu ayyana yawmu alqiyamati
সে প্রশ্ন করে - - ''কখন কিয়ামতের দিন আসবে?’’
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
At length, when the sight is dazed,
Faitha bariqa albasaru
কিন্ত যখন দৃষ্টি দিশাহারা হয়ে যাবে,
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
And the moon is buried in darkness.
Wakhasafa alqamaru
আর চন্দ্র হবে অন্ধকারাচ্ছন্ন,
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
And the sun and moon are joined together, -
WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru
আর সূর্য ও চন্দ্রকে একত্রিত করা হবে,
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"
Yaqoolu alinsanu yawmaithin ayna almafarru
মানুষ সেইদিন বলবে - - ''কোথায় পালানোর স্থান?’’
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
By no means! No place of safety!
Kalla la wazara
কিছুতেই না, কোনো আশ্রয়স্থল নেই।
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest.
Ila rabbika yawmaithin almustaqarru
সেদিন ঠাই হবে কেবল তোমার প্রভুর নিকটেই।
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back.
Yunabbao alinsanu yawmaithin bima qaddama waakhkhara
মানুষকে সেইদিন জানানো হবে কী সে আগবাড়িয়েছে এবং সে ফেলে রেখেছে।
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
Nay, man will be evidence against himself,
Bali alinsanu AAala nafsihi baseeratun
বস্তুত মানুষ তার নিজের সত্ত্বা সন্বন্ধে চক্ষুষ্মান,
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
Even though he were to put up his excuses.
Walaw alqa maAAatheerahu
যদিও সে তার অজুহাত দেখায়।
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.
La tuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihi
এর দ্বারা তোমার জিহবা নাড়াচাড়া করো না একে ত্বরান্বিত করতে।
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:
Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waquranahu
নিঃসন্দেহ আমাদের উপরেই রয়েছে এর সংগ্রহের ও এর পাঠ করানোর দায়িত্ব।
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated):
Faitha qaranahu faittabiAA quranahu
সুতরাং যখন আমরা তা পাঠ করি তখন তুমি তার পঠন অনুসরণ করো,
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):
Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahu
তারপর নিশ্চয় আমাদেরই উপরে রয়েছে এর ব্যাখ্যাকরণ।
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life,
Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilata
না, তোমরা কিন্তু ভালবাস ক্ষণস্থায়ী,
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
And leave alone the Hereafter.
Watatharoona alakhirata
আর অবহেলা কর পরকালকে।
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ
Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty); -
Wujoohun yawmaithin nadiratun
সেদিন কতকগুলো মুখ হবে উজ্জ্বল, - -
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
Looking towards their Lord;
Ila rabbiha nathiratun
তাদের প্রভুর দিকে চেয়ে থাকবে,
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal,
Wawujoohun yawmaithin basiratun
আর কতকগুলো মুখ সেইদিন বিবর্ণ হয়ে যাবে, - -
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
In the thought that some back - breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them;
Tathunnu an yufAAala biha faqiratun
এই ভেবে যে কোনো বিধ্বংসী বিপর্যয় তাদের উপরে পড়তে যাচ্ছে।
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar - bone (in its exit),
Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiya
না, যখন এটি গলায় এসে পৌঁছুবে,
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?"
Waqeela man raqin
এবং বলা হবে - - ''কে সেই জাদুকর?’’
وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ
And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting;
Wathanna annahu alfiraqu
আর সে বুঝতে পারে যে, এ হচ্ছে বিদায় বেলা,
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
And one leg will be joined with another:
Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi
এবং এক পায়ের হাড় অন্য পায়ের হাড়ে ঠোকর খেতে থাকবে,
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord!
Ila rabbika yawmaithin almasaqu
তোমার প্রভুর দিকেই সেইদিন হবে চালিয়ে নেওয়া।
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray! -
Fala saddaqa wala salla
সে তো সত্যনিষ্ঠ ছিল না, আর নামাযও পড়ে নি,
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
But on the contrary, he rejected Truth and turned away!
Walakin kaththaba watawalla
বরং সে সত্যপ্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল এবং ফিরে এসেছিল,
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!
Thumma thahaba ila ahlihi yatamatta
তারপর সে তার স্বজনগণের কাছে গিয়েছিল গর্ব করতে করতে।
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!
Awla laka faawla
''তুমি নিপাত যাও! তবে নিপাত যাও!
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
Again, Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!
Thumma awla laka faawla
''আবার তুমি নিপাত যাও, ফলে নিপাত যাও!’’
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)?
Ayahsabu alinsanu an yutraka sudan
মানুষ কি ভাবে যে তাকে ছেড়ে দেয়া হবে বাঁধনছাড়াভাবে?
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)?
Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna
সে কি ছিল না এক শুক্রকীট এক সবেগে নির্গত স্খলনের মধ্যেকার?
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
Then did he become a leech - like clot; then did (Allah) make and fashion (him) in due proportion.
Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwa
তারপর সে হলো একটি রক্তপিন্ড, তারপর তিনি আকৃতি দান করলেন ও পূর্ণাঙ্গ করলেন।
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
And of him He made two sexes, male and female.
FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha
তারপর তিনি তা হতে সৃষ্টি করলেন তার যুগল - - পুরুষ ও নারী।
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
Has not He, (the same), the power to give life to the dead?
Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawta
তবুও কি তিনি ক্ষমতাবান নন মৃতকে পুনর্জীবিত করতে?
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
