Chapter 56, 96 verses
When the Event inevitable cometh to pass,
বিসমিল্লাহির রাহমা-নির রাহি-ম ইযা-অক্বা'আতিল্ ওয়া-ক্বি'আতু।
যখন কিয়ামত ঘটিবে,
Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming.
লাইসা লিঅক'আতিহা-কা-যিবাহ্।
ইহার সংঘটন অস্বীকার করিবার কেহ থাকিবে না।
(Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt;
খ-ফি দ্বোয়ার্তু র-ফি'আহ।
ইহা কাহাকেও করিবে নীচ, কাহাকেও করিবে সম্মুন্নত ;
When the earth shall be shaken to its depths,
ইযা- রুজ্জ্বাতিল্ র্আদু রজ্জ্বান্।
যখন প্রবল কম্পনে প্রকম্পিত হইবে পৃথিবী,
And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms,
অবুস্সাতিল্ জ্বিবা-লু বাস্সা-।
এবং পর্বতমালা চূর্ণ - বিচূর্ণ হইয়া পড়িবে,
Becoming dust scattered abroad,
ফাকা-নাত্ হাবা-য়াম্ মুম্বাছ্ছাঁও।
ফলে উহা পর্যবসিত হইবে উৎক্ষিপ্ত ধূলিকণায়;
And ye shall be sorted out into three classes.
অকুন্তুম্আয্ওয়া-জ্বান্ ছালা-ছাহ্।
এবং তোমরা বিভক্ত হইয়া পড়িবে তিন শ্রেণীতে -
Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand; - What will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
ফাআছ্হা-বুল্ মাইমানাতি মা য় আছ্হা-বুল্ মাইমানাহ্।
ডান দিকের দল; কত ভাগ্যবান ডান দিকের দল!
And the Companions of the Left Hand, - what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
অআছ্হা-বুল্ মাশ্য়ামাতি মা য় আছ্হা-বুল্ মাশ্য়ামাহ্।
এবং বাম দিকের দল; কত হতভাগ্য বাম দিকের দল!
And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
অস্সা-বিকু নাস্ সা-বিকুন।
আর অগ্রবর্তীগণই তো অগ্রবর্তী,
These will be those Nearest to Allah:
উলা-য়িকাল্ মুর্ক্বরাবূন্।
উহারাই নৈকট্যপ্রাপ্ত -
In Gardens of Bliss:
ফী জ্বান্না-তিন্ না'ঈম্।
নিয়ামতপূর্ণ উদ্যানে;
A number of people from those of old,
ছুল্লাতুম্ মিনাল্ আউয়্যালীন।
বহুসংখ্যক হইবে পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য হইতে;
And a few from those of later times.
অক্বালীলুম্ মিনাল্ আ-খিরীন্।
এবং অল্পসংখ্যক হইবে পরবর্তীদের মধ্য হইতে।
(They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones),
'আলা- সুরুরিম্ মাওদ্বূনাতিম্।
স্বর্ণখচিত আসনে
Reclining on them, facing each other.
মুত্তাকিয়ীনা 'আলাইহা-মুতাক্ব-বিলীন্।
উহারা হেলান দিয়া বসিবে, পরস্পর মুখোমুখি হইয়া।
Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness),
ইয়াতুফু 'আলাইহিম্ ওয়িল্দা-নুম্ মুখাল্লাদূন।
তাহাদের সেবায় ঘোরাফেরা করিবে চির - কিশোরেরা
With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear - flowing fountains:
বিআক্ওয়া-বিঁও অআবা-রীক্বা অকাসিম্ মিম্ মা'ঈনিল্।
পানপাত্র, কুঁজা ও প্রস্রবণ - নিঃসৃত সুরাপূর্ণ পেয়ালা লইয়া।
No after - ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:
লা-ইয়ুছোয়াদ্দা'ঊনা 'আন্হা-অলা- ইয়ুন্যিফূন।
সেই সুরা পানে তাহাদের শিরঃপীড়া হইবে না, তাহারা জ্ঞানহারাও হইবে না -
And with fruits, any that they may select:
অফা-কিহাতিম্ মিম্মা-ইয়াতাখাইয়্যারূন।
এবং তাহাদের পসন্দমত ফলমূল,
And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire.
অলাহ্মি ত্বোয়াইরিম্ মিম্মা-ইয়াশ্তাহূন।
আর তাহাদের ঈপ্সিত পাখির গোশ্ত লইয়া,
And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes, -
অহূরুন্ 'ঈনুন্।
আর তাহাদের জন্য থাকিবে আয়তলোচনা হূর,
Like unto Pearls well - guarded.
কাআম্ছা-লিল্ লুলুয়িল্ মাক্নূন্ ।
সুরক্ষিত মুক্তাসদৃশ,
A Reward for the deeds of their past (life).
জ্বাযা-য়াম্ বিমা-কা-নূ ইয়া'মালূন্।
তাহাদের কর্মের পুরস্কারস্বরূপ।
Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill, -
লা-ইয়াস্মাঊ'না ফীহা-লাগ্ওয়াঁও অলা-তাছীমান্।
সেখানে তাহারা শুনিবে না কোন অসার অথবা পাপবাক্য,
Only the saying, "Peace! Peace".
ইল্লা-ক্বীলান্ সালা-মান্ সালা-মা-।
‘সালাম’ আর ‘সালাম’ বাণী ব্যতীত।
The Companions of the Right Hand, - what will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
অআছ্হা-বুল্ ইয়ামীনি মা য় আছ্হা-বুল্ ইয়ামীন্।
আর ডানদিকের দল, কত ভাগ্যবান ডানদিকের দল!
(They will be) among Lote - trees without thorns,
ফী সিদ্রিম্ মাখ্দ্বুদিঁও।
তাহারা থাকিবে এমন উদ্যানে, সেখানে আছে কণ্টকহীন কুলবৃক্ষ,
Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another, -
অত্বোয়াল্হিম্ মান্দ্বুদিঁও।
কাঁদি ভরা কদলী বৃক্ষ,
In shade long - extended,
অজিল্লিম্ মামদূদিঁও।
সম্প্রসারিত ছায়া,
By water flowing constantly,
অমা-য়িম্ মাস্কূবিঁও।
সদা প্রবহমান পানি,
And fruit in abundance.
অ ফা- কিহাতিন্ কাছীরাতিল্।
ও প্রচুর ফলমূল,
Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden,
লা-মাকতুআতিঁও অলা-মাম্নূ'আতিঁও ।
যাহা শেষ হইবে না ও যাহা নিষিদ্ধও হইবে না।
And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high.
অফুরুশিম্ মারফূ'আহ্।
আর সমুচ্চ শয্যাসমূহ;
We have created (their Companions) of special creation.
ইন্না য় আন্শানা-হুন্না ইন্শা-য়ান্।
উহাদেরকে আমি সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি বিশেষরূপে -
And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), -
ফাজ্বা'আল্না-হুন্না আব্কা-রন্।
উহাদেরকে করিয়াছি কুমারী,
Beloved (by nature), equal in age, -
উ'রুবান্ আত্র-বাল্
সোহাগিনী ও সমবয়স্কা,
For the Companions of the Right Hand.
লিআছ্হা-বিল্ ইয়ামীন্।
ডানদিকের লোকদের জন্য।
A (goodly) number from those of old,
ছুল্লাতুম্ মিনাল্ আউয়্যালীনা।
তাহাদের অনেকে হইবে পূর্ববর্তীদের মধ্য হইতে,
And a (goodly) number from those of later times.
অছুল্লাতুম্ মিনাল্ আ-খিরীন্।
এবং অনেকে হইবে পরবর্তীদের মধ্য হইতে।
The Companions of the Left Hand, - what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
অআছ্হা-বুশ্ শিমা- লি মা য় আছ্হা-বুশ্ শিমা-ল্।
আর বামদিকের দল, কত হতভাগ্য বাম দিকের দল!
(They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water,
ফী সামূমিঁও অহামীমিঁও।
উহারা থাকিবে অত্যুষ্ণ বায়ু ও উত্তপ্ত পানিতে,
And in the shades of Black Smoke:
অজিল্লিম্ মিঁ ইয়াহ্মূমিল্।
কৃষ্ণবর্ণ ধূম্রের ছায়ায়,
Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
লা-বা-রিদিঁও অলা-কারীম্।
যাহা শীতল নয়, আরামদায়কও নয়।
For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury),
ইন্নাহুম্ ক্বা-নূ ক্বব্লা যা-লিকা মুত্রাফীন্।
ইতিপূর্বে উহারা তো মগ্ন ছিল ভোগ - বিলাসে
And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme!
অকা-নূ ইয়ুর্ছিরূ-না 'আলাল্ হিন্ছিল্ 'আজীম্।
এবং উহারা অবিরাম লিপ্ত ছিল ঘোরতর পাপকর্মে।
And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again? -
অ কা-নূ ইয়াকু লূনা আইযা-মিত্না-অকুন্না-তুরা-বাঁও অই'জোয়া-মান্ য়াইন্না-লামাব্ঊছূনা।
আর উহারা বলিত, ‘মরিয়া অস্থি ও মৃত্তিকায় পরিণত হইলেও কি উত্থিত হইব আমরা?
"(We) and our fathers of old?"
আ ওয়া আ-বা-য়ু নাল্ আওয়ালূন্।
‘এবং আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষগণও?’
Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times,
কুল্ ইন্নাল্ আউয়্যালীনা অল্আ-খিরীনা
বল, ‘অবশ্যই পূর্ববর্তিগণ ও পরবর্তিগণ -
"All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well - known.
লামাজ্ব্ মূ'ঊ না ইলা-মীক্ব-তি ইয়াওমিম্ মা'লূম্।
সকলকে একত্র করা হইবে এক নির্ধারিত দিনের নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে।
"Then will ye truly, - O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood! -
ছুম্মা ইন্নাকুম্ আইয়ুহাদ্দোয়া-ল্লূনাল্ মুকায্যিবূন।
অতঃপর হে বিভ্রান্ত অস্বীকারকারীরা!
"Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum.
লাআ-কিলূনা মিন্ শাজ্বারিম্ মিন্ যাককুমিন্
তোমরা অবশ্যই আহার করিবে যাক্কূম বৃক্ষ হইতে,
"Then will ye fill your insides therewith,
ফামা-লিয়ূনা মিন্হাল্ বুতুন্ ।
এবং উহা দ্বারা তোমরা উদর পূর্ণ করিবে,
"And drink Boiling Water on top of it:
ফাশা-রিবূনা 'আলাইহি মিনাল্ হামীম্।
পরে তোমরা পান করিবে উহার উপর অত্যুষ্ণ পানি -
"Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!"
ফাশা-রিবূনা র্শুবাল্ হীম্।
আর পান করিবে তৃষ্ণার্ত উষ্ট্রের ন্যায়।
Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital!
হা-যা-নুযুলুহুম্ ইয়াওমাদ্দীন্।
কিয়ামতের দিন ইহাই হইবে উহাদের আপ্যায়ন।
It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth?
নাহ্নু খলাকনা-কুম্ ফালাওলা তুছোয়াদ্দিক্বূন্।
আমিই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করিয়াছি, তবে কেন তোমরা বিশ্বাস করিতেছ না?
Do ye then see? - The (human Seed) that ye throw out, -
আফারায়াইতুম্ মা তুম্নূন্।
তোমরা কি ভাবিয়া দেখিয়াছ তোমাদের বীর্যপাত সম্বন্ধে?
Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators?
আআন্তুম্ তাখ্লুকু নাহূ য় আম্ নাহ্নুল 'খ-লিকুন্ ।
উহা কি তোমরা সৃষ্টি কর, না আমি সৃষ্টি করি?
We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated
নাহ্নু ক্বার্দ্দানা-বাইনাকুমুল্ মাওতা অমা-নাহ্নু বিমাস্বূক্বীন।
আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে মৃত্যু নির্ধারিত করিয়াছি এবং আমি অক্ষম নই -
from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not.
'আলা য় আন্ নুবাদ্দিলা আম্ছা-লাকুম্ অনুন্শিয়াকুম্ আম্ছা-লাকুম্ অনুন্শিয়াকুম্ ফীমা-লা-তা'লামূন্।
তোমাদের স্থলে তোমাদের সদৃশ আনয়ন করিতে এবং তোমাদেরকে এমন এক আকৃতিতে সৃষ্টি করিতে যাহা তোমরা জান না।
And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
অলাক্বদ্ 'আলিম্তুমুন্ নাশ্য়াতাল্ ঊলা-ফালাওলা- তাযাক্কারূন্।
তোমরা তো অবগত হইয়াছ প্রথম সৃষ্টি সম্বন্ধে, তবে তোমরা অনুধাবন কর না কেন?
See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground?
আফারায়াইতুম্ মা-তাহারুছূন্।
তোমরা যে বীজ বপন কর সে সম্পর্কে চিন্তা করিয়াছ কি?
Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?
আআন্তুম্ তায্রঊ'নাহূ য় আম্ নাহ্নুয্ যা-রিঊ'ন্।
তোমরা কি উহাকে অঙ্কুরিত কর, না আমি অঙ্কুরিত করি?
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
লাও নাশা-য়ু লাজ্বা'আল্না-হু হুত্বোয়া-মান্ ফাজোয়াল্তুম্ তাফাক্কাহূন্।
আমি ইচ্ছা করিলে ইহাকে খড় - কুটায় পরিণত করিতে পারি, তখন হতবুদ্ধি হইয়া পড়িবে তোমরা;
(Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):
ইন্না-লামুগ্রমূন্।
‘আমরা তো দায়গ্রস্ত হইয়া পড়িয়াছি’,
"Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
বাল্ নাহ্নু মাহ্রূমূন্।
বরং ‘আমরা হৃতসর্বস্ব হইয়া পড়িয়াছি।’
See ye the water which ye drink?
আফারয়াইতুমুল্ মা-য়াল্ লাযী তাশ্রবূন্।
তোমরা যে পানি পান কর তাহা সম্পর্কে কি তোমরা চিন্তা করিয়াছ?
Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
আআন্তুম্ আন্ যাল্তুমূহু মিনাল্ মুয্নি আম্ নাহ্নুল্ মুন্যিলূন্।
তোমরা কি উহা মেঘ হইতে নামাইয়া আন, না আমি উহা বর্ষণ করি?
Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?
লাও নাশা-য়ু জ্বা'আল্না-হু উজ্বা-জ্বান্ ফালাওলা- তাশ্কুরূ ন্।
আমি ইচ্ছা করিলে উহা লবণাক্ত করিয়া দিতে পারি। তবুও কেন তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর না?
See ye the Fire which ye kindle?
আফারয়াইতুমু ন্না-র ল্লাতী তূরূন্।
তোমরা যে অগ্নি কর তাহা লক্ষ্য করিয়া দেখিয়াছ কি?
Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
আ-আন্তুম্ আন্শাতুম্ শাজ্বারতাহা য় আম্ নাহ্নুল্ মুন্শিয়ূন্।
তোমরাই কি উহার বৃক্ষ সৃষ্টি কর, না আমি সৃষ্টি করি?
We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.
নাহ্নু জ্বা'আল্না-হা তায্কিরতাঁও অমাতা-'আল্ লিল্মুকওয়ীন্।
আমি ইহাকে করিয়াছি নিদর্শন এবং মরুচারীদের প্রয়োজনীয় বস্তু।
Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme!
ফাসাব্বিহ্ বিস্মি রব্বিকাল্ 'আজীম্।
সুতরাং তুমি তোমার মহান প্রতিপালকের নামের পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা কর।
Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars, -
ফালা য় উক্বসিমু বিমাওয়া-ক্বি'ইন্ নুজুমি।
আমি শপথ করিতেছি নক্ষত্ররাজির অস্তাচলের,
And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew, -
অইন্নাহূ লাক্বাসামু ল্লাও তা'লামূনা 'আজীম।
অবশ্যই ইহা এক মহাশপথ, যদি তোমরা জানিতে -
That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
ইন্নাহূ লা কুর আ-নুন্ কারীমুন্।
নিশ্চয়ই ইহা সম্মানিত কুরআন,
In Book well - guarded,
ফী কিতা-বিম্ মাক্নূনিল্।
যাহা আছে সুরক্ষিত কিতাবে।
Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
লা ইয়া স্সুহূ য় ইল্লাল্ মুত্বোয়াহ্ হারূন্।
যাহারা পূত - পবিত্র তাহারা ব্যতীত অন্য কেহ তাহা স্পর্শ করে না।
A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
তান্যীলুম্ র্মি রব্বিল্ 'আ-লামী ন্।
ইহা জগতসমূহের প্রতিপালকের নিকট হইতে অবতীর্ণ।
Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
আফাবিহা-যাল্ হাদীছি আন্তুম্ মুদ্হিনূনা।
তবুও কি তোমরা এই বাণীকে তুচ্ছ গণ্য করিবে?
And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
অতাজ্ব 'আলূনা রিয্ক্বকুম্ আন্নাকুম্ তুকায্যিবূন্।
এবং তোমরা মিথ্যারোপকেই তোমাদের উপজীব্য করিয়া লইয়াছ !
Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat, -
ফালাওলা য় ইযা-বালাগতিল্ হুল্ক্বুম্।
পরন্তু কেন নয় - প্রাণ যখন কণ্ঠাগত হয়
And ye the while (sit) looking on, -
অআন্তুম্ হীনায়িযিন্ তান্জুরূনা।
এবং তখন তোমরা তাকাইয়া থাক,
But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not, -
অনাহ্নু আকরাবু ইলাইহি মিন্কুম্ অলা-কিল্লা-তুব্ছিরূন্।
আর আমি তোমাদের অপেক্ষা তাহার নিকটতর, কিন্তু তোমরা দেখিতে পাও না।
Then why do ye not, - If you are exempt from (future) account, -
ফালাওলা য় ইন্ কুন্তুম্ গইর মাদীনীন।
তোমরা যদি কর্তৃত্বাধীন না হও!
Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)?
র্তাজ্বি'ঊনাহা য় ইন্ কুন্তুম্ ছোয়া-দিক্বীন্।
তবে তোমরা উহা ফিরাও না কেন? যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও।
Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah,
ফা আম্মা য় ইন্ কা-না মিনাল্ মুর্ক্বারবীন।
যদি সে নৈকট্যপ্রাপ্তদের একজন হয়,
(There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.
ফারওহুঁও অরইহা-নুঁও অজ্বান্নাতু না'ঈম্।
তবে তাহার জন্য রহিয়াছে আরাম, উত্তম জীবনোপকরণ ও সুখদ উদ্যান;
And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand,
অ আম্মা য় ইন্ কা-না মিন্ আছ্হা-বিল্ ইয়ামীন।
আর যদি সে ডানদিকের একজন হয়,
(For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand.
ফাসালা-মুল্ লাকা মিন্ আছহা-বিল্ ইয়ামীন্।
তবে তাহাকে বলা হইবে, ‘হে দক্ষিণ পার্শ্ববর্তী! তোমার প্রতি শান্তি।’
And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong,
অ আম্মা য় ইন্ কা-না মিনাল্ মুকায্যিবীনাদ্ব্ দ্বোয়া-ল্লীন।
কিন্তু সে যদি সত্য অস্বীকারকারী ও বিভ্রান্তদের অন্যতম হয়,
For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water.
ফা নুযুলুম্ মিন্ হামীমিঁও।
তবে রহিয়াছে আপ্যায়ন অত্যুষ্ণ পানির দ্বারা,
And burning in Hell - Fire.
অ তাছ্লিয়াতু জ্বাহীম্।
এবং দহন জাহান্নামের;
Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly.
ইন্না হা-যা-লাহুওয়া হাককুল্ ইয়াক্বীন্।
ইহা তো ধ্রুব সত্য।
So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme.
ফাসাব্বিহ্ বিস্মি রব্বিকাল্ 'আজীম্।
অতএব তুমি তোমার মহান প্রতিপালকের নামের পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা কর।
