  • Pickthall
Yusuf Ali

(The Prophet) frowned and turned away,

Deutsch

Er blickte düster und kehrte sich ab,

Pickthall

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. He frowned and turned away

Yusuf Ali

Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting).

Deutsch

weil der Blinde zu ihm kam.

Pickthall

Because the blind man came unto him.

Yusuf Ali

But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)? -

Deutsch

Was läßt dich wissen, vielleicht läutert er sich

Pickthall

What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace)

Yusuf Ali

Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him?

Deutsch

Pickthall

Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him ?

Yusuf Ali

As to one who regards Himself as self - sufficient,

Deutsch

Pickthall

As for him who thinketh himself independent,

Yusuf Ali

To him dost thou attend;

Deutsch

so widmest du dich ihm,

Pickthall

Unto him thou payest regard.

Yusuf Ali

Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding).

Deutsch

Pickthall

Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace).

Yusuf Ali

But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly,

Deutsch

Pickthall

But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose

Yusuf Ali

And with fear (in his heart),

Deutsch

und dabei gottesfürchtig ist,

Pickthall

And hath fear,

Yusuf Ali

Of him wast thou unmindful.

Deutsch

von dem läßt du dich ablenken.

Pickthall

From him thou art distracted.

Yusuf Ali

By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction:

Deutsch

Keineswegs! Gewiß, es ist eine Erinnerung.

Pickthall

Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment,

Yusuf Ali

Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance.

Deutsch

Wer nun will, gedenkt seiner.

Pickthall

So let whosoever will pay heed to it,

Yusuf Ali

(It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour,

Deutsch

(Er steht) auf in Ehren gehaltenen Blättern,

Pickthall

On honoured leaves

Yusuf Ali

Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy,

Deutsch

erhöhten und rein gehaltenen,

Pickthall

Exalted, purified,

Yusuf Ali

(Written) by the hands of scribes -

Deutsch

durch die Hände von Entsandten,

Pickthall

(Set down) by scribes

Yusuf Ali

Honourable and Pious and Just.

Deutsch

edlen, frommen.

Pickthall

Noble and righteous.

Yusuf Ali

Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah;

Deutsch

Tod dem Menschen, wie undankbar er ist!

Pickthall

Man is (self - )destroyed: how ungrateful!

Yusuf Ali

From what stuff hath He created him?

Deutsch

Woraus hat Er ihn erschaffen?

Pickthall

From what thing doth He create him ?

Yusuf Ali

From a sperm - drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions;

Deutsch

Pickthall

From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him,

Yusuf Ali

Then doth He make His path smooth for him;

Deutsch

Den Weg hierauf macht Er ihm leicht.

Pickthall

Then maketh the way easy for him,

Yusuf Ali

Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave;

Deutsch

Hierauf läßt Er ihn sterben und bringt ihn dann ins Grab.

Pickthall

Then causeth him to die, and burieth him;

Yusuf Ali

Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again).

Deutsch

Hierauf, wenn Er will, läßt Er ihn auferstehen.

Pickthall

Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life.

Yusuf Ali

By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him.

Deutsch

Keineswegs!

Pickthall

Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him.

Yusuf Ali

Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it):

Deutsch

Pickthall

Let man consider his food:

Yusuf Ali

For that We pour forth water in abundance,

Deutsch

Wir gießen ja Güsse von Wasser,

Pickthall

How We pour water in showers

Yusuf Ali

And We split the earth in fragments,

Deutsch

Pickthall

Then split the earth in clefts

Yusuf Ali

And produce therein corn,

Deutsch

und lassen dann auf ihr Korn wachsen

Pickthall

And cause the grain to grow therein

Yusuf Ali

And Grapes and nutritious plants,

Deutsch

und Rebstöcke und Grünzeug

Pickthall

And grapes and green fodder

Yusuf Ali

And Olives and Dates,

Deutsch

und Ölbäume und Palmen

Pickthall

And olive - trees and palm - trees

Yusuf Ali

And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees,

Deutsch

und Gärten mit dicken Bäumen

Pickthall

And garden - closes of thick foliage

Yusuf Ali

And fruits and fodder, -

Deutsch

und Früchte und Futter,

Pickthall

And fruits and grasses:

Yusuf Ali

For use and convenience to you and your cattle.

Deutsch

Pickthall

Provision for you and your cattle.

Yusuf Ali

At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise, -

Deutsch

Wenn dann der betäubende (Schrei) kommt,

Pickthall

But when the Shout cometh

Yusuf Ali

That Day shall a man flee from his own brother,

Deutsch

Pickthall

On the day when a man fleeth from his brother

Yusuf Ali

And from his mother and his father,

Deutsch

und seiner Mutter und seinem Vater

Pickthall

And his mother and his father

Yusuf Ali

And from his wife and his children.

Deutsch

und seiner Gefährtin und seinen Söhnen

Pickthall

And his wife and his children,

Yusuf Ali

Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others.

Deutsch

Pickthall

Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).

Yusuf Ali

Some faces that Day will be beaming,

Deutsch

Pickthall

On that day faces will be bright as dawn,

Yusuf Ali

Laughing, rejoicing.

Deutsch

lachen und sich freuen.

Pickthall

Laughing, rejoicing at good news;

Yusuf Ali

And other faces that Day will be dust - stained,

Deutsch

Pickthall

And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them,

Yusuf Ali

Blackness will cover them:

Deutsch

und sie werden von Dunkelheit bedeckt sein.

Pickthall

Veiled in darkness,

Yusuf Ali

Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity.

Deutsch

Das sind die Ungläubigen und Sittenlosen.

Pickthall

Those are the disbelievers, the wicked.
