Chapter 15, 99 verses
A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation, - of a Qur'an that makes things clear.
আলিফ - লাম - রা। এগুলো আয়াত আল কিতাব এবং সুস্পষ্ট কুরআনের।
الٓر تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's will) in Islam.
কাফিররাও কখনো কখনো আকাঙ্খা করে, যদি তারা মুসলিম হতো!
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them).
তাদের উপেক্ষা করো: তারা খেতে থাকুক, ভোগ করতে থাকুক এবং তাদের আশা - আকাঙ্খা তাদেরকে মোহাচ্ছন্ন করে রাখুক। অচিরেই তারা জানতে পারবে।
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.
আমরা যে কোনো জনপদকেই হালাক করেছি, তার অবশ্যি একটি নির্দিষ্ট মেয়াদকাল রেকর্ড করা ছিলো।
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it.
কোনো উম্মতের (ধ্বংসের) মেয়াদকাল এগিয়েও আসেনা এবং পিছিয়েও যায়না।
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! truly thou art mad (or possessed)!
তারা বলে: ‘‘হে ঐ ব্যক্তি, যার প্রতি আয - যিকির (আল - কুরআন) নাযিল করা হয়েছে, তুমি অবশ্যি একজন পাগল।
وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
"Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?"
তুমি সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকলে আমাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা নিয়ে আসোনা কেন?’’
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have!
আমরা তো বাস্তব পরিস্থিতি সৃষ্টি হওয়া ছাড়া ফেরেশতা পাঠাইনা; আর যখনই ফেরেশতা পাঠাই তখন আর তাদের অবকাশ দেয়া হয়না।
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
আয - যিকির (আল - কুরআন) আমরাই নাযিল করেছি এবং আমরাই সেটির হিফাযতকারী।
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old:
তোমার আগেকার অনেক সম্প্রদায়ের কাছেই আমরা রসূল পাঠিয়েছিলাম।
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.
যখনই তাদের কাছে কোনো রসূল এসেছে তারা (তাকে নিয়ে) বিদ্রূপ করেছে
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners -
এভাবে আমরা (সর্বকালের) অপরাধীদের অন্তরে তা (কুফুরি ও হঠকারিতা) সঞ্চার করি।
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.
তারা এর (কুরআনের) প্রতি ঈমান আনেনা। আর অতীতের (অপরাধীদের) সুন্নতও ছিলো এটাই।
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,
আমরা যদি তাদের জন্যে আসমানের দুয়ারও খুলে দিতাম এবং তারা যদি দিবালোকে তাতে মেরাজ (আরোহণ) করতেও থাকতো,
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery."
তখনো তারা বলতো, আমাদের চোখকে সম্মোহিত করা হয়েছে, বরং আমরা জাদুগ্রস্ত লোক।
لَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair - seeming to (all) beholders;
আমরা আসমানে বুরুজ (গ্রহ - নক্ষত্র) স্থাপন করেছি এবং সেগুলোকে দর্শকদের জন্যে শোভামন্ডিত করেছি।
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil:
এবং প্রতিটি অভিশপ্ত শয়তান থেকে সেটিকে হিফাযত করেছি।
وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see).
তবে কেউ যদি চুরি করে সংবাদ শুনতে চায় তার পশ্চাদধাবন করে উজ্জ্বল শিহাব (শিখা)।
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
আর পৃথিবী, আমরা তাকে সমতল করে বিছিয়ে দিয়েছি, আর তাতে স্থাপন করেছি পাহাড় - পর্বত এবং তাতে উৎপন্ন করেছি প্রতিটি জিনিস ওজন মতো (যথাযথ পরিমাণে)।
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
And We have provided therein means of subsistence, - for you and for those for whose sustenance ye are not responsible.
তাতে ব্যবস্থা করে দিয়েছি তোমাদের জীবিকার, এবং তাদের জীবিকারও যাদের জীবিকাদাতা তোমরা নও।
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures.
এমন কোনো জিনিস নেই, আমাদের কাছে যার ভান্ডার রক্ষিত নেই। আমরা তা নাযিল করি জ্ঞাত নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণে।
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.
আর আমরা বর্ষণমুখী মেঘবাহী বাতাস পাঠাই, তারপর আসমান থেকে নাযিল করি পানি এবং তা তোমাদের পান করাই, অথচ তোমরা তো সেই (পানি) ভান্ডারের মালিক নও।
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ
And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain inheritors (after all else passes away).
আমরাই হায়াত দেই এবং মউত ঘটাই এবং আমরাই ওয়ারিশ (মালিক)।
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind.
আমরা তোমাদের বিগতদের জানি এবং যারা আসবে তাদেরও জানি।
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
Assuredly it is thy Lord Who will gather them together: for He is perfect in Wisdom and Knowledge.
নিশ্চয়ই তোমার প্রভু তাদের সবার হাশর করবেন। নিশ্চয়ই তিনি প্রজ্ঞাবান, জ্ঞানী।
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape;
আমরা সৃষ্টি করেছি মানুষকে গন্ধযুক্ত কাদার শুকনো ঠনঠনে মাটি থেকে।
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind.
আর তাদের আগে আমরা জিনদের সৃষ্টি করেছি শিখাযুক্ত আগুন থেকে।
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape;
(স্মরণ করো,) যখন তোমার প্রভু ফেরেশতাদের বলেছিলেন, আমি মানুষ সৃষ্টি করতে যাচ্ছি গন্ধযুক্ত কাদার শুকনো ঠনঠনে মাটি থেকে।
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
"When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him."
আমি যখন তাকে সুগঠিত করবো এবং আমার পক্ষ থেকে তাতে রূহ সঞ্চার করে দেবো, তখন তোমরা তার প্রতি সাজদায় নুয়ে পড়বে।
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:
ফলে ফেরেশতারা সবাই ঐক্যবদ্ধভাবে তাকে সাজদা করে।
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.
তবে করেনি শুধু ইবলিস। সে সাজদাকারীদের অন্তরভুক্ত হতে অস্বীকার করে।
إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
(Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?"
বললেন: ‘হে ইবলিস! তোর কী হয়েছে, তুই কেন সাজদাকারীদের অন্তরভুক্ত হইস্নি?’
قَالَ يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
(Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape."
সে বললো: ‘‘আমি তো এমন একজনকে সাজদা করতে পারিনা, যাকে আপনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন গন্ধযুক্ত কাদার শুকনো ঠনঠনে মাটি থেকে।’
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
(Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed.
তিনি বললেন: ‘‘তুই ওখান থেকে বেরিয়ে যা, কারণ তুই অভিশপ্ত।
قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
"And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment."
প্রতিদান দিবস পর্যন্ত বর্ষিত হবে তোর উপর লা’নত।’’
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
সে বললো: ‘প্রভু! আমাকে অবকাশ দিন পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত।’
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
(Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee
তিনি বললেন: ‘‘যা, তুই তাদের অন্তরভুক্ত যাদের অবকাশ দেয়া হয়েছে।
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
"Till the Day of the Time appointed."
অবধারিত সময়টির (কিয়ামত) আগমন পর্যন্ত।’’
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair - seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong, -
সে বললো: ‘‘প্রভু! যেহেতু আপনি আমাকে বিপথগামী করেছেন, সে জন্যে আমি পৃথিবীতে তাদের (মানুষের) জন্যে বিপথগামিতাকে চাকচিক্যময় করে তুলবো এবং তাদের সবাইকে বিপথগামী করে ছাড়বো।
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
"Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."
তবে তাদের মধ্যকার আপনার মুখলেস বান্দাদের কথা ভিন্ন।’’
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
(Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me.
বললেন: ‘‘এটাই আমার কাছে পৌঁছার সরল সঠিক পথ।
قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
"For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee."
আমার দাসদের উপর তোর কোনো কর্তৃত্ব খাটবেনা, তবে বিভ্রান্তদের যারা তোর অনুসরণ করবে তাদের কথা ভিন্ন।
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all!
অবশ্যি তাদের সবার প্রতিশ্রুত স্থান হলো জাহান্নাম।
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
তার আছে সাতটি দরজা, প্রত্যেক দরজার জন্যে তাদের একটি অংশ নির্ধারণ করে দেয়া হয়েছে।
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear - flowing water).
অবশ্যি মুত্তাকিরা থাকবে উদ্যানসমূহ এবং ঝরণাধারা সমূহের মধ্যে।
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
(Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security."
তাদের বলা হবে: ‘দাখিল হও শান্তি ও নিরাপত্তার সাথে।’
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
তাদের অন্তরে পরস্পরের জন্যে কোনো বিদ্বেষ থাকলে তা আমরা দূর করে দেবো, তারা পরস্পর মুখোমুখি হয়ে আসন গ্রহণ করবে ভাই ভাই হিসেবে।
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.
সেখানে তাদের স্পর্শ করবেনা কোনো অবসাদ এবং সেখান থেকে তাদের বের করেও দেয়া হবেনা।
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft - forgiving, Most Merciful;
আমার দাসদের সংবাদ দাও, নিশ্চয়ই আমি মহাক্ষমাশীল, মহাদয়াময়।
نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty.
আর আমার আযাব, তাও বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
Tell them about the guests of Abraham.
তাদের আরো সংবাদ দাও ইবরাহিমের মেহমানদের সম্পর্কে।
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!"
তারা যখন তার কাছে প্রবেশ করেছিল, বলেছিল: ‘সালাম’। সে বলেছিল: ‘আমরা আপনাদের আগমনে আতংকিত।’
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom."
তখন তারা বলেছিল: ‘আপনি আতংকিত হবেন না, আমরা আপনাকে সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছি এক জ্ঞানী পুত্রের।’
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?"
সে বলেছিল: ‘আপনারা আমাকে সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছেন আমি বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হওয়া সত্ত্বেও। আপনারা কীভাবে সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছেন?’
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!"
তারা বলেছিল: ‘আমাদের দেয়া সুসংবাদ সত্য। আপনি নিরাশ হবেন না।’
قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ
He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?"
সে বলেছিল: ‘বিভ্রান্তরা ছাড়া কে নিরাশ হয় তার প্রভুর রহমত থেকে?’
قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?"
তারপর সে বললো: ‘(হে ফেরেশতারা!) আপনাদের আর কী বক্তব্য?’
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin,
তারা বললো: ‘‘আমরা প্রেরিত হয়েছি এক অপরাধী কওমের প্রতি,
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
"Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm), - All -
তবে, লুতের পরিবারবর্গের বিরুদ্ধে নয়, আমরা তাদের সবাইকে নাজাত দেবো।
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
"Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind."
কিন্তু তাঁর (লুতের) স্ত্রীকে নয়। আমরা নিশ্চিত হয়েছি, সে ধবংস হবার জন্যে পেছনে পড়ে থাকাদের অন্তরভুক্ত হবে।’’
إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut,
অত:পর ফেরেশতারা যখন লুত পরিবারে এসে উপস্থিত হলো।
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk."
সে (লুত) বললো: ‘আপনাদের তো চিনতে পারছিনা?’
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt.
তারা বললো: ‘‘তারা (আপনার জাতি) যে বিষয়ে সন্দেহ করছে আমরা আপনার কাছে তাই নিয়ে এসেছি।
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
"We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth.
আমরা সত্য সংবাদ নিয়ে এসেছি এবং অবশ্যি আমরা সত্যবাদী।
وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ
"Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered."
সুতরাং আপনি রাতের কোনো এক সময় আপনার পরিবার - পরিজনকে নিয়ে বের হয়ে পড়ুন। আপনি তাদের পেছনে চলুন এবং আপনাদের কেউই যেনো পেছনে ফিরে না তাকায়। আপনাদেরকে যেখানে বলা হয়েছে সেখানে চলে যান।’’
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning.
আমরা তাকে ফায়সালা জানিয়ে দিলাম যে, প্রভাতেই তাদের শিকড় কেটে দেয়া হবে (সমূলে বিনাশ করা হবে)।
وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men).
নগরবাসীরা (মেহমান আগমনের সংবাদে) উল্লসিত হয়ে (লুতের বাড়িতে) এসে উপস্থিত হয়।
وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not:
সে বললো: ‘‘এরা আমার মেহমান, তোমরা আমাকে বেইজ্জতি করোনা।
قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
"But fear Allah, and shame me not."
তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় করো, আমাকে অপমানিত করোনা।’’
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?"
তারা বললো: আমরা কি জগতবাসীকে আশ্রয় দিতে তোমাকে নিষেধ করিনি?
قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)."
লুত বললো: এই যে আমার (জাতির) কন্যারা রয়েছে, তোমরা কিছু করতে চাইলে তাদের বিয়ে করে নাও।
قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ
Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro.
তোমার জীবনের শপথ, তারা তখন উন্মত্ততায় উদ্ভ্রান্ত হয়ে পড়েছিল।
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,
তারপর সূর্যোদয়ের সময় তাদের পাকড়াও করে বিকটধ্বনি।
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay.
তখন আমরা (লুত জাতির) জনপদের উপরের দিক নিচে করে উল্টে দিয়েছি এবং তাদের উপর অবিরাম বর্ষণ করেছি পাথরের কংকর।
فَجَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand.
বিশ্লেষণ শক্তিসম্পন্ন লোকদের জন্যে এতে রয়েছে নিদর্শন।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
And the (cities were) right on the high - road.
সেই বিরান জনপদ লোক চলাচলের পথপাশে এখনো বিদ্যমান।
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed.
মুমিনদের জন্যে তাতে রয়েছে এক নিদর্শন।
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong - doers;
আর আইকাবাসীরাও ছিলো সীমালংঘনকারী।
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ
So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see.
তাদের থেকেও আমরা প্রতিশোধ নিয়েছি। উভয় বিরানভূমিই প্রকাশ্য মহাসড়কের পাশে এখনো বিদ্যমান।
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers:
হিজরবাসীরাও রসূলদের মিথ্যা বলে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল।
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them.
আমরা তাদের দিয়েছিলাম আমাদের নিদর্শনসমূহ, কিন্তু তারা তা উপেক্ষা করেছিল।
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure.
তারা পাহাড় কেটে বাসস্থান নির্মাণ করেছিল নিরাপদ থাকার জন্যে।
وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning,
তাদেরকেও প্রভাতকালেই আঘাত করেছিল এক মহাবিকট শব্দ।
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)!
তাদের অর্জনসমূহ তাদের কোনো উপকারই করতে পারেনি।
فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness.
মহাকাশ আর পৃথিবী এবং এই দুয়ের মাঝে যা কিছু আছে সবই আমরা সৃষ্টি করেছি বাস্তবতার ভিত্তিতে। কিয়ামত অবশ্যি আসবে। তাই তুমি সুন্দর সৌজন্যবোধের সাথে তাদের উপেক্ষা করো।
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَءَاتِيَةٌ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master - Creator, knowing all things.
নিশ্চয়ই তোমার রব মহাস্রষ্টা, অতীব জ্ঞানী।
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft - repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an.
আমরা তোমাকে দিয়েছি পুন: পুন: আবৃত্ত সাত (আয়াত) এবং মহাগ্রন্থ আল - কুরআন।
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers.
আমরা তাদের বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীকে ভোগ বিলাসের যেসব উপকরণ দিয়েছি, সেগুলোর প্রতি তুমি কখনো তোমার দুই চোখ মেলে তাকিয়োনা। তাদের জন্যে তুমি দুঃখও করোনা। তুমি মুমিনদের জন্যে তোমার দুই ডানা অবনমিত করে দাও।
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity," -
তুমি বলো: ‘আমি তো কেবল সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী।’
وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
(Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts), -
(এটা ঠিক সেরকম) যেভাবে আমরা নাযিল করেছিলাম সেইসব বিভক্তকারীদের (ইহুদি ও খৃস্টানদের) উপর,
كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
(So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please).
যারা তাদের কুরআনকে (তাওরাতকে) বিভিন্নভাবে বিভক্ত করেছে।
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ
Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account,
তোমার প্রভুর শপথ! আমরা অবশ্যি তাদের সবাইকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করবো,
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
For all their deeds.
তাদের কর্মকান্ডের বিষয়ে।
عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah.
তোমাকে যার আদেশ করা হয়েছে তা প্রকাশ্যে প্রচার করো এবং মুশরিকদের উপেক্ষা করে চলো।
فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff, -
বিদ্রূপকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে তোমার জন্যে আমরাই কাফী (যথেষ্ট),
إِنَّا كَفَيْنَٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ
Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know.
যারা আল্লাহর সাথে অপর ইলাহ্ বানিয়ে নিয়েছে। অচিরেই তারা জানতে পারবে।
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say.
আমরা জানি, তাদের কথায় তোমার মন সংকুচিত হয়ে আসে।
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration.
সুতরাং তুমি তোমার প্রভুর প্রশংসার সাথে তসবিহ করো এবং তুমি সাজদাকারীদের অন্তরভুক্ত।
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain.
এবং তোমার প্রভুর ইবাদত করো যতোক্ষণ না তোমার কাছে আসে নিশ্চিত জিনিসটি (মৃত্যু)।
وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
