Chapter 50, 45 verses
Qaf: By the Glorious Qur'an (Thou art Allah's Messenger).
ক্কাফ। ভেবে দেখো মহিমান্বিত কুরআনখানা।
Qaf. I swear by the glorious Quran (that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah)
قٓ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ
But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing!
বস্তুত তারা আশ্চর্য হচ্ছে যে তাদের কাছে তাদেরই মধ্যে থেকে একজন সতর্ককারী এসেছেন, তাই অবিশ্বাসীরা বলছে - - ''এ তো এক আজব ব্যাপার!’’
Nay! they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, so the unbelievers say: This is a wonderful thing:
بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
"What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)."
''কী! আমরা যখন মরে যাব এবং ধুলো - মাটি হয়ে যাব? এ তো বহু দূর থেকে ফিরে আসা।’’
What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return.
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ
We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account).
আমরা আলবৎ জানি তাদের মধ্যের কতটুকু পৃথিবী হ্রাস করে ফেলে, আর আমাদের কাছে রয়েছে সুরক্ষিত গ্রন্থ।
We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves.
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ وَعِندَنَا كِتَٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ
But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state.
বস্তুত তারা সত্য প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল যখন তাদের কাছে তা এসেছিল, সেজন্য তারা সংশয়াকুল অবস্থায় রয়েছে।
Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion.
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ
Do they not look at the sky above them? - How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?
তারা কি তবে তাদের উপরকার আকাশের দিকে তাকিয়ে দেখে না - - আমরা কেমন ক’রে তা তৈরি করেছি এ বং তাকে সুশোভিত করেছি, আর তাতে কোনো ফাটলও নেই?
Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps?
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ
And the earth - We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs) -
আর পৃথিবী - - তাকে আমরা প্রসারিত করেছি আর তাতে স্থাপন করেছি পাহাড় - পর্বত, আর তাতে আমরা জন্মিয়েছি হরেক রকমের মনোরম বস্তু - -
And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds,
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ
To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah).
দেখার মতো ও মনোনিবেশ করার মতো বিষয় প্রত্যেক অনুরাগী বান্দার জন্য।
To give sight and as a reminder to every servant who turns frequently (to Allah).
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests;
আর আমরা আকাশ থেকে বর্ষণ করি আশীর্বাদসূচক জল, তারপর তার দ্বারা আমরা জন্মাই বাগানসমূহ ও খাদ্যশস্য যা তোলা হয়,
And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped,
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ
And tall (and stately) palm - trees, with shoots of fruit - stalks, piled one over another; -
আর লন্বা লন্বা খেজুর গাছ যাতে আছে গোছা গোছা কাঁদি, - -
And the tall palm - trees having spadices closely set one above another,
وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ
As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants; - and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection.
দাসদের জন্য জীবিকাস্বরূপ, আর এর দ্বারা আমরা মৃত ভূখন্ডে প্রাণ সঞ্চার করি। এইভাবেই হবে পুনরুত্থান।
A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising.
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ
Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud,
এদের আগে নূহ - এর স্বজাতি প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল, আর রস্ - এর অধিবাসীরা ও ছামুদ জাতি,
(Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar - Rass and Samood,
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut,
আর 'আদ ও ফিরআউন ও লূত - এর ভাই - বন্ধুরা,
And Ad and Firon and Lut's brethren,
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ
The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them).
আর আইকার অধিবাসীরা ও তুব্বার লোকদল; - - সবাই রসূলগণকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল, সুতরাং আমার ওয়াদা সত্য বর্তেছিল।
And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the apostles, so My threat came to pass.
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ
Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation?
আমরা কি তবে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়েছি প্রথমবারের সৃষ্টি করেই? না, তারা নতুন সৃষ্টি সন্বন্ধে সন্দেহের মাঝে রয়েছে।
Were We then fatigued with the first creation? Yet are they in doubt with regard to a new creation.
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.
আর আমরা তো নিশ্চয় মানুষ সৃষ্টি করেছি, আর আমরা জানি তার অন্তর তাকে কী মন্ত্রণা দেয়, আর আমরা কন্ঠশিরার চেয়েও তার আরো নিকটে রয়েছি।
And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life - vein.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ
Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left.
স্মরণ রেখো, দুইজন গ্রহণকারী গ্রহণ করে চলেছেন ডাইনে ও বাঁয়ে বসে।
When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left.
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ
Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).
সে কোনো কথাই উচ্চারণ করে না যার জন্য তার নিকটেই এক তৎপর প্রখর প্রহরী নেই।
He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand.
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!"
আর মৃত্যুকালীন মূর্ছা সত্যি - সত্যি আসবে, - - ''এইটিই তো তাই যা থেকে তুমি অব্যাহতি চাও।’’
And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape.
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ
And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given).
আর শিঙ্গায় ফুৎকার দেওয়া হবে, ''এইটিই সেই প্রতিশ্রুত দিন।’’
And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening.
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ
And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness.
তখন প্রত্যেক সত্ত্বা চলে আসবে, তার সঙ্গে থাকবে এক চালক ও এক সাক্ষী।
And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness.
وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
(It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!"
''তুমি তো অবশ্য এ সন্বন্ধে গাফিলতিতে ছিলে, কিন্ত এখন আমরা তোমার থেকে তোমার আবরণী সরিয়ে দিয়েছি ফলে তোমার দৃষ্টি আজ তীক্ষ্ণ হয়েছে।
Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp.
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!"
আর তার সঙ্গী বলবে - - ''এই তো যা আমার কাছে তৈরি রয়েছে।’’
And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me.
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ
(The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious (of Allah)! -
''তোমরা দুজনে জাহান্নামে ফেলে দাও প্রত্যেক অবিশ্বাসীকে, বিদ্রোহাচারীকে, - -
Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one,
أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
"Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions;
''ভালো কাজে নিষেধকারীকে, সীমালংঘনকারীকে, সন্দেহকারীকে - -
Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter,
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ
"Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty."
''যে র সঙ্গে অন্য উপাস্য দাঁড় করিয়েছিল, অতএব তোমরা উভয়ে তাকে নিক্ষেপ করো ভীষণ শাস্তিতে।’’
Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement.
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ
His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray."
আর তার সাঙ্গাত বলবে - - ''আমাদের প্রভু! আমি তো তাকে বিদ্রোহী বানাই নি, কিন্ত সে নিজেই ছিল সুদূর বিভ্রান্তিতে।’’
His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error.
قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ
He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning.
তিনি বলবেন - - ''আমার সামনে তোমরা তর্কাতর্কি করো না, আর আমি তো তোমাদের কাছে ইতিপূর্বেই আমার ওয়াদা আগবাড়িয়েছি।
He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand:
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ
"The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants."
''আমার কাছে কথার রদবদল হয় না, এবং আমি আমার বান্দাদের প্রতি আদৌ অন্যায়াচারী নই।’’
My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants.
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
One Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)?"
সেইদিন আমরা জাহান্নামকে বলব - - ''তুমি কি পূর্ণ হয়ে গিয়েছ?’’ আর সে বলবে - - ''আরো বেশি আছে কি?’’
On the day that We will say to hell: Are you filled up? And it will say: Are there any more?
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ
And the Garden will be brought nigh to the Righteous, - no more a thing distant.
আর বেহেশতকে আনা হবে ধর্মভীরুদের নিকটে - - অদূরে।
And the garden shall be brought near to those who guard (against evil), not far off:
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ
(A voice will say:) "This is what was promised for you, - for every one who turned (to Allah) in sincere repentance, who kept (His Law),
''এইটিই তা যার প্রতিশ্রুতি তোমাদের দেওয়া হয়েছিল প্রত্যেক জন বারবার প্রত্যাবর্তনকারী হেফাজতকারীর জন্য - -
This is what you were promised, (it is) for every one who turns frequently (to Allah), keeps (His limits);
هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ
"Who feared (Allah) Most Gracious Unseen, and brought a heart turned in devotion (to Him):
''যে পরম করুণাময়কে ভয় করত সংগোপনে, আর উপস্থিত হত বিনয় - নম্র হৃদয় নিয়ে।
Who fears the Beneficent Allah in secret and comes with a penitent heart:
مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ
"Enter ye therein in Peace and Security; this is a Day of Eternal Life!"
''এতে প্রবেশ করো প্রশান্তির সাথে। এই তো চিরস্থায়ী দিন।’’
Enter it in peace, that is the day of abiding.
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ
There will be for them therein all that they wish, - and more besides in Our Presence.
এদের জন্য থাকবে তারা সেখানে যা চাইবে তাই, তার আমাদের কাছে রয়েছে আরো বেশি।
They have therein what they wish and with Us is more yet.
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ
But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins), - stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?
আর তাদের আগে আমরা কত মানবগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি, তারা এদের চাইতে ছিল শক্তিতে বেশি প্রবল, ফলে তারা দেশে - বিদেশে অভিযান চালাত। কোনো আশ্রয়স্থল আছে কি?
And how many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they, so they went about and about in the lands. Is there a place of refuge?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ
Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth).
নিঃসন্দেহ এতে নিশ্চয়ই উপদেশ রয়েছে তার জন্য যার হৃদয় আছে, অথবা যে কান দেয়, আর সে সাক্ষ্য বহন কবে ।
Most surely there is a reminder in this for him who has a heart or he gives ear and is a witness.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us.
আর আমরা অবশ্য মহাকাশমন্ডলী ও পৃথিবী এবং এ দুইয়ের মধ্যে যা - কিছু আছে তা সৃষ্টি করেছি ছয় দিনে, আর কোনো ক্লান্তি আমাদের স্পর্শ করে নি।
And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched Us not any fatigue.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ
Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.
অতএব ওরা যা বলে তা সত্ত্বেও তুমি অধ্যবসায় চালিয়ে যাও এবং তোমার প্রভুর প্রশংসায় জপতপ করো সূর্য উদয়ের আগে ও অস্ত যাবার আগে,
Therefore be patient of what they say, and sing the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before the setting.
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration.
আর রাতের বেলাতেও তাঁর জপতপ করো, আর এই সিজদাগুলোর পরেও,
And glorify Him in the night and after the prayers.
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ
And listen for the Day when the Caller will call out from a place quiet near, -
আর শোনো সেইদিন যখন একজন ঘোষণাকারী আহ্বান করবেন নিকটবর্তী স্থান থেকে, - -
And listen on the day when the crier shall cry from a near place
وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
The Day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the Day of Resurrection.
সেইদিন তারা সত্যি - সত্যি মহাগর্জন শুনতে পাবে। এইটিই বেরিয়ে আসার দিন।
The day when they shall hear the cry in truth; that is the day of coming forth.
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ
Verily it is We Who give Life and Death; and to Us is the Final Goal -
নিঃসন্দেহ আমরা স্বয়ং জীবন দান করি এবং আমরাই মৃত্যু ঘটাই, আর আমাদের কাছেই শেষ - আগমন, - -
Surely We give life and cause to die, and to Us is the eventual coming;
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ
The Day when the Earth will be rent asunder, from (men) hurrying out: that will be a gathering together, - quite easy for Us.
সেইদিন পৃথিবী বিদীর্ণ হয়ে যাবে তাদের থেকে স্ত্রস্ত - ব্যস্তভাবে, এই হচ্ছে মহাসমাবেশ - - আমাদের জন্য সহজ ব্যাপার।
The day on which the earth shall cleave asunder under them, they will make haste; that is a gathering together easy to Us.
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ
We know best what they say; and thou art not one to overawe them by force. So admonish with the Qur'an such as fear My Warning!
ওরা যা বলে আমরা তা ভাল জানি, আর তুমি তাদের উপরে জবরদস্তি করার লোক নও। অতএব তুমি কুরআন নিয়ে স্মরণ করিয়ে চলো তার প্রতি যে আমার প্রতিশ্রুতিকে ভয় করে।
We know best what they say, and you are not one to compel them; therefore remind him by means of the Quran who fears My threat.
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ
