Yusuf Ali

When the sky is rent asunder,

সমকালীন বাংলা

আল্লাহর নামে শুরু করছি, পরম করুণাময় পরম দয়ালু; যখন আকাশ বিদীর্ণ হবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

যখন ফেটে (চুর্ণ বিচুর্ণ হয়ে) যাবে আকাশ,

Pickthall

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. When the heaven is split asunder

Yusuf Ali

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so); -

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং তার প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশ মেনে চলবে—এবং সেটিই তার উপযুক্ত,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এবং সে তার প্রভুর ফরমান পালন করবে, আর তা করাটাই তার জন্যে হক (বাস্তব)।

And attentive to her Lord in fear,

Yusuf Ali

And when the earth is flattened out,

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং যখন পৃথিবী প্রসারিত করা হবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এবং যখন পৃথিবীকে করে দেয়া হবে প্রসারিত।

And when the earth is spread out

Yusuf Ali

And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty,

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং তা তার ভেতরের সবকিছু বের করে দেবে ও শূন্য হয়ে যাবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

আর তার ভেতরে যা কিছু ছিলো, সব বাইরে নিক্ষেপ করে সে খালি হয়ে যাবে।

Pickthall

And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty

Yusuf Ali

And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, - and it must needs (do so); - (then will come Home the full reality).

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং তার প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশ মেনে চলবে—এবং সেটিই তার উপযুক্ত,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এভাবে সে তার রবের হুকুম পালন করবে, আর তা করাটাই তার জন্যে হক (বাস্তব)।

Pickthall

And attentive to her Lord in fear!

Yusuf Ali

O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord - painfully toiling, - but thou shalt meet Him.

সমকালীন বাংলা

হে মানুষ! নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তোমার প্রতিপালকের দিকে কঠোর প্রচেষ্টায় অগ্রসর হচ্ছ, অতঃপর তুমি তাঁর সাক্ষাৎ লাভ করবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

হে মানুষ! তুমি তোমার (ভালো - মন্দ) কৃতকর্মের বোঝা নিয়ে ফিরে চলছো তোমরা মালিকের দিকে। এ এক অবধারিত প্রত্যাবর্তন। সামনে এগিয়েই তাঁর সাথে মুলাকাত (সাক্ষাত) করবে।

Pickthall

Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).

Yusuf Ali

Then he who is given his Record in his right hand,

সমকালীন বাংলা

অতঃপর যার আমলনামা তার ডান হাতে দেওয়া হবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

সেখানে যার কিতাব (কৃতকর্মের রেকর্ড বা আমলনামা) দেয়া হবে তার ডান হাতে,

Pickthall

Then whoso is given his account in his right hand

Yusuf Ali

Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning,

সমকালীন বাংলা

তার হিসাব সহজভাবে নেওয়া হবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

তার কাছ থেকে নেয়া হবে একটা সহজ হিসাব,

Pickthall

He truly will receive an easy reckoning

Yusuf Ali

And he will turn to his people, rejoicing!

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং সে আনন্দিত অবস্থায় তার আপনজনদের কাছে ফিরে যাবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এবং সে তার পরিবার - পরিজনের কাছে ফিরে যাবে হাসি খুশি, আনন্দ উৎফুল্ল চিত্তে।

Pickthall

And will return unto his folk in joy.

Yusuf Ali

But he who is given his Record behind his back, -

সমকালীন বাংলা

আর যার আমলনামা তার পেছন দিক থেকে দেওয়া হবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

তবে যার কিতাব (কৃতকর্মের রেকর্ড বা আমলনামা) দেয়া হবে তার পেছন দিক থেকে,

Pickthall

But whoso is given his account behind his back,

Yusuf Ali

Soon will he cry for perdition,

সমকালীন বাংলা

সে শীঘ্রই ধ্বংসকে ডাকবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

সে ডাকবে মৃত্যুকে,

Pickthall

He surely will invoke destruction

Yusuf Ali

And he will enter a Blazing Fire.

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং প্রজ্জ্বলিত আগুনে প্রবেশ করবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এবং সে প্রবেশ করবে সায়ীরে (জলন্ত আগুনে)।

Pickthall

And be thrown to scorching fire.

Yusuf Ali

Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing!

সমকালীন বাংলা

নিশ্চয়ই সে তার আপনজনদের মধ্যে আনন্দে ছিল,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

সে তো (দুনিয়ার জীবনে) তার পরিবার - পরিজনদের মধ্যে থাকতো আনন্দে মেতে।

Pickthall

He verily lived joyous with his folk,

Yusuf Ali

Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)!

সমকালীন বাংলা

নিশ্চয়ই সে মনে করত যে সে কখনো ফিরে যাবে না,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

নিশ্চয়ই সে মনে করতো, তার কখনো ফিরে আসতে হবেনা (আমার কাছে)।

Pickthall

He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

Yusuf Ali

Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him!

সমকালীন বাংলা

হ্যাঁ, অবশ্যই; নিশ্চয়ই তার প্রতিপালক তাকে দেখছিলেন,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

হ্যাঁ, অবশ্যি (তাকে ফিরে আসতেই হবে), কখনো তাকে দৃষ্টির আড়াল করেননি তার প্রভু।

Pickthall

Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him!

Yusuf Ali

So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset;

সমকালীন বাংলা

অতএব আমি শপথ করছি সন্ধ্যাকালের লাল আভার,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

আমি শপথ করছি অস্ত লালিমার,

Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,

Yusuf Ali

The Night and its Homing;

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং রাতের, এবং যা তা আচ্ছাদিত করে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

শপথ করছি রাতের, আর সে তার অন্ধকারে যা কিছুর সমাবেশ ঘটায় (সেগুলোর)।

And by the night and all that it enshroudeth,

Yusuf Ali

And the Moon in her fullness:

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং চাঁদের, যখন তা পূর্ণ হয়,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

শপথ করছি চাঁদের, যখন সে উপনীত হয় পূর্ণিমায়।

And by the moon when she is at the full,

Yusuf Ali

Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage.

সমকালীন বাংলা

অবশ্যই তোমরা এক অবস্থা থেকে আরেক অবস্থায় আরোহণ করবে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

নিশ্চয়ই তোমরা আরোহণ করতে থাকবে এক তবকা (স্তর) থেকে আরেক তবকায়।

Pickthall

That ye shall journey on from plane to plane.

Yusuf Ali

What then is the matter with them, that they believe not? -

সমকালীন বাংলা

অতঃপর তাদের কী হয়েছে যে তারা বিশ্বাস করে না?

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

সুতরাং তাদের হলো কি যে, তারা ঈমান আনে না?

Pickthall

What aileth them, then, that they believe not

Yusuf Ali

And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate,

সমকালীন বাংলা

এবং যখন তাদের কাছে কুরআন পাঠ করা হয়, তারা সিজদা করে না?

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

এবং যখন তাদের কাছে কুরআন পেশ করা হয়, তখন সাজদা করেনা (অবনত হয়না)? (সাজদা)

Pickthall

And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah) ?

Yusuf Ali

But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it).

সমকালীন বাংলা

বরং অবিশ্বাসীরা মিথ্যারোপ করে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

বরং যারা কুফরির পথ অবলম্বন করে, তারা (এই কুরআনকে) অস্বীকার করে।

Pickthall

Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny;

Yusuf Ali

But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)

সমকালীন বাংলা

আর ভালো জানেন যা তারা অন্তরে সঞ্চয় করে,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

অথচ আল্লাহই অধিক জানেন (তারা তাদের আমলনামায়) কী জমা করছে?

Pickthall

And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.

Yusuf Ali

So announce to them a Penalty Grievous,

সমকালীন বাংলা

অতএব তাদেরকে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তির সুসংবাদ দাও,

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

সুতরাং তাদেরকে সংবাদ দাও যন্ত্রনাদায়ক আযাবের।

Pickthall

So give them tidings of a painful doom,

Yusuf Ali

Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail.

সমকালীন বাংলা

তবে যারা ঈমান এনেছে এবং সৎকর্ম করেছে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে অফুরন্ত প্রতিদান।

আবদুস শহীদ নাসিম

তবে যারা ঈমান আনে এবং আমলে সালেহ্ করে, তাদের জন্য রয়েছে অফুরন্ত পুরস্কার।

Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.
