Yusuf Ali

1 By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath),

Saheeh International

1 By the racers, panting,

Pickthall

1 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the snorting courses,

Yusuf Ali

2 And strike sparks of fire,

Saheeh International

2 And the producers of sparks [when] striking

Pickthall

2 Striking sparks of fire

Yusuf Ali

3 And push home the charge in the morning,

Saheeh International

3 And the chargers at dawn,

Pickthall

3 And scouring to the raid at dawn,

Yusuf Ali

4 And raise the dust in clouds the while,

Saheeh International

4 Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,

Pickthall

4 Then, therewith, with their trail of dust,

Yusuf Ali

5 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse; -

Saheeh International

5 Arriving thereby in the center collectively,

Pickthall

5 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe),

Yusuf Ali

6 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful;

Saheeh International

6 Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.

Pickthall

6 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord

Yusuf Ali

7 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds);

Saheeh International

7 And indeed, he is to that a witness.

Pickthall

7 And lo! he is a witness unto that;

Yusuf Ali

8 And violent is he in his love of wealth.

Saheeh International

8 And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.

Pickthall

8 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent.

Yusuf Ali

9 Does he not know, - when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad

Saheeh International

9 But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

Pickthall

9 Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth

Yusuf Ali

10 And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest -

Saheeh International

10 And that within the breasts is obtained,

Pickthall

10 And the secrets of the breasts are made known,

Yusuf Ali

11 That their Lord had been Well - acquainted with them, (even to) that Day?

Saheeh International

11 Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted.

Pickthall

11 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them.
