Chapter 78, 40 verses
AAamma yatasaaloona
কি সন্বন্ধে তারা পরস্পরকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করছে?
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. What are they asking (one another) about?
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
AAani alnnabai alAAatheemi
সেই মহাসংবাদ সন্বন্ধে - -
About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Qur'an, which Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم brought and the Day of Resurrection)
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoona
যে বিষয়ে তারা মতানৈক্যের মধ্যে রয়েছে।
About which they are in disagreement.
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
Kalla sayaAAlamoona
না, তারা শীঘ্রই জানতে পারবে।
Nay, they will come to know!
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoona
পুনশ্চ, না, তারা অতিশীঘ্রই জানতে পারবে।
Nay, again, they will come to know!
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Alam najAAali alarda mihadan
আমরা কি পৃথিবীটাকে পাতানো - বিছানারূপে বানাই নি,
Have We not made the earth as a bed,
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا
Waaljibala awtadan
আর পাহাড় - পর্বতকে খুটিরূঁপে?
And the mountains as pegs?
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
Wakhalaqnakum azwajan
আর আমরা তোমাদের সৃষ্টি করেছি জোড়ায় - জোড়ায়;
And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.).
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا
WajaAAalna nawmakum subatan
আর তোমাদের ঘুমকে করেছি বিশ্রাম,
And We have made your sleep as a thing for rest.
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
WajaAAalna allayla libasan
আর রাতকে করেছি পোশাকস্বরূপ;
And We have made the night as a covering (through its darkness),
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashan
আর দিনকে করেছি জীবিকার সংস্থান।
And We have made the day for livelihood.
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan
আর তোমাদের উপরে আমরা বানিয়েছি সাত মজবুত জিনিস,
And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا
WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajan
আর তৈরি করেছি একটি অত্যুজ্জ্বল প্রদীপ,
And We have made (therein) a shining lamp (sun).
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا
Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajan
আর ঝরন্ত - মেঘ থেকে আমরা বর্ষণ করি প্রচুর বৃষ্টি,
And We have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water.
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا
Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatan
যেন তার দ্বারা গজাতে পারি শস্য ও গাছপালা,
That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations,
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا
Wajannatin alfafan
আর ঘনসন্নিবিষ্ট বাগানসমূহ।
And gardens of thick growth.
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا
Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatan
নিশ্চয় ফয়সালা করার দিনের এক নির্ধারিত সময়কাল আছে - -
Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time,
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا
Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajan
সেইদিন শিঙ্গায় ফুৎকার দেওয়া হবে, তখন তোমরা আসবে দলে - দলে,
The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups after groups). [Tafsir At-Tabari]
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwaban
আর আকাশকে বিদীর্ণ করা হবে, সুতরাং তা হবে বহু - দরজা - বিশিষ্ট।
And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates,
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا
Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraban
আর পাহাড়গুলো ধসে পড়বে, ফলে তা হবে বালুময় - মরীচিকা।
And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage.
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
Inna jahannama kanat mirsadan
নিঃসন্দেহ জাহান্নাম - - তা প্রতীক্ষায় রয়েছে - -
Truly, Hell is a place of ambush -
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
Lilttagheena maaban
সীমালংঘনকারীদের জন্য প্রত্যাবর্তনস্থল; - -
A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundary limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals),
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا
Labitheena feeha ahqaban
সেখানে তারা অবস্থান করবে যুগ যুগ ধরে।
They will abide therein for ages.
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا
La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaban
তারা সেখানে স্বাদ গ্রহণ করবে না শীতলতার, না কোনো পানীয়ের - -
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink.
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
Illa hameeman waghassaqan
শুধু ফুটন্ত জল ও হিমশীতল পানীয় ব্যতীত, - -
Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges -
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا
Jazaan wifaqan
এক যথাযথ প্রতিদান।
An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes).
جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا
Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaban
নিঃসন্দেহ তারা হিসাবের কথা ভাবে নি,
For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning.
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا
Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaban
আর আমাদের বাণীসমূহ প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছিল জোর প্রত্যাখ্যানে।
But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم brought) completely.
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا
Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaban
আর সব - কিছুই - - আমরা তা লিখিতভাবে সংরক্ষণ করছি,
And all things We have recorded in a Book.
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًا
Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaban
সুতরাং স্বাদ গ্রহণ করো, আমরা তোমাদের বাড়িয়ে দেবো না শাস্তি ব্যতীত।
So taste you (the results of your evil actions). No increase shall We give you, except in torment.
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan
ধর্মভীরুদের জন্য নিশ্চয়ই রয়েছে মহাসাফল্য - -
Verily, for the Muttaqun, there will be a success (Paradise);
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
Hadaiqa waaAAnaban
ফলের বাগান ও আঙুর,
Gardens and vineyards,
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا
WakawaAAiba atraban
আর সমবয়স্ক ফুটফুটে কিশোর,
And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age,
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
Wakasan dihaqan
আর পরিপূর্ণ পানপাত্র।
And a full cup (of wine).
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban
তারা সেখানে খেলো কথা শুনবে না, আর মিথ্যাকথাও নয়।
No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying;
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban
তোমার প্রভুর কাছ থেকে প্রতিফল, - - হিসাবমতো পুরস্কার, - -
A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds),
جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا
Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban
মহাকাশমন্ডল ও পৃথিবীর এবং তাদের মধ্যে যা - কিছু আছে তার প্রভু, পরম করুণাময়, তাঁর কাছে বক্তব্য রাখার কোনো ক্ষমতা তারা রাখে না।
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Gracious, with Whom they cannot dare to speak (on the Day of Resurrection except by His Leave).
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban
সেইদিন আর - রূহ ও ফিরিশ্তাগণ সারবেঁধে দাঁড়াবে, পরম করুণাময় যাকে অনুমতি দেবেন সে ব্যতীত তাদের কেউ কথা বলতে পারবে না, আর সে সঠিক কথা বলবে।
The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibril (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, they will not speak except him whom the Most Gracious (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right.
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban
এইটাই মহাসত্যের দিন। অতএব যে কেউ চায় সে তার প্রভুর কাছে আশ্রয়স্থল খুঁজুক।
That is (without doubt) the True Day. So, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)!
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban
নিশ্চয় আমরা তোমাদের সতর্ক করছি এক নিকটবর্তী শাস্তি সন্বন্ধে, - - যেদিন মানুষ দেখতে পাবে তার হাত দুখানা কী আগবাড়িয়েছে, আর অবিশ্বাসী ব্যক্তি বলবে - - ''হায় আমার আফসোস! আমি যদি ধুলো হয়ে যেতাম!’’
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment - the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!"
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا
