Chapter 80, 42 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. (The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) frowned and turned away.
AAabasa watawalla
Er blickte düster und kehrte sich ab,
Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs).
An jaahu alaAAma
weil der Blinde zu ihm kam.
And how can you know that he might become pure (from sins)?
Wama yudreeka laAAallahu yazzakka
Was läßt dich wissen, vielleicht läutert er sich
Or he might receive admonition, and the admonition might profit him?
Aw yaththakkaru fatanfaAAahu alththikra
As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
Amma mani istaghna
To him you attend;
Faanta lahu tasadda
so widmest du dich ihm,
What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief: you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah).
But as to him who came to you running,
Waamma man jaaka yasAAa
And is afraid (of Allah and His punishment).
Wahuwa yakhsha
und dabei gottesfürchtig ist,
Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another,
Faanta AAanhu talahha
von dem läßt du dich ablenken.
Nay, (do not do like this); indeed it (this Qur'an) is an admonition.
Kalla innaha tathkiratun
Keineswegs! Gewiß, es ist eine Erinnerung.
So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.
Faman shaa thakarahu
Wer nun will, gedenkt seiner.
(It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz),
Fee suhufin mukarramatin
(Er steht) auf in Ehren gehaltenen Blättern,
Exalted (in dignity), purified,
MarfooAAatin mutahharatin
erhöhten und rein gehaltenen,
In the hands of scribes (angels).
Biaydee safaratin
durch die Hände von Entsandten,
Honourable and obedient.
Kiramin bararatin
edlen, frommen.
Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!
Qutila alinsanu ma akfarahu
Tod dem Menschen, wie undankbar er ist!
From what thing did He create him?
Min ayyi shayin khalaqahu
Woraus hat Er ihn erschaffen?
From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him and then set him in due proportion.
Min nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddarahu
Then He makes the Path easy for him.
Thumma alssabeela yassarahu
Den Weg hierauf macht Er ihm leicht.
Then He causes him to die and puts him in his grave.
Thumma amatahu faaqbarahu
Hierauf läßt Er ihn sterben und bringt ihn dann ins Grab.
Then when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).
Thumma itha shaa ansharahu
Hierauf, wenn Er will, läßt Er ihn auferstehen.
Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.
Kalla lamma yaqdi ma amarahu
Keineswegs!
Then let man look at his food:
Falyanthuri alinsanu ila taAAamihi
We pour forth water in abundance.
Anna sababna almaa sabban
Wir gießen ja Güsse von Wasser,
And We split the earth in clefts.
Thumma shaqaqna alarda shaqqan
And We cause therein the grain to grow,
Faanbatna feeha habban
und lassen dann auf ihr Korn wachsen
And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),
WaAAinaban waqadban
und Rebstöcke und Grünzeug
And olives and date-palms,
Wazaytoonan wanakhlan
und Ölbäume und Palmen
And gardens dense with many trees,
Wahadaiqa ghulban
und Gärten mit dicken Bäumen
And fruits and herbage
Wafakihatan waabban
und Früchte und Futter,
(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.
MataAAan lakum walianAAamikum
Then when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the second blowing of the Trumpet on the Day of Resurrection)
Faitha jaati alssakhkhatu
Wenn dann der betäubende (Schrei) kommt,
That Day shall a man flee from his brother,
Yawma yafirru almaro min akheehi
And from his mother and his father,
Waommihi waabeehi
und seiner Mutter und seinem Vater
And from his wife and his children.
Wasahibatihi wabaneehi
und seiner Gefährtin und seinen Söhnen
Everyman that Day will have enough to make him careless of others.
Likulli imriin minhum yawmaithin shanun yughneehi
Some faces that Day will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism),
Wujoohun yawmaithin musfiratun
Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise).
Dahikatun mustabshiratun
lachen und sich freuen.
And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained.
Wawujoohun yawmaithin AAalayha ghabaratun
Darkness will cover them.
Tarhaquha qataratun
und sie werden von Dunkelheit bedeckt sein.
Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers).
Olaika humu alkafaratu alfajaratu
Das sind die Ungläubigen und Sittenlosen.
