Chapter 46, 35 verses
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ حم
হা-মীম।
The revelation of the Book (this Qur'an) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
تَنزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
এই কিতাব মহা পরাক্রমশালী প্রজ্ঞাময় আল্লাহর নিকট থেকে নাযিলকৃত।
We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and for an appointed term. But those who disbelieve turn away from that whereof they are warned.
مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَمَّا أُنذِرُوا مُعْرِضُونَ
আমি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও এতদোভয়ের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে, তা যথাযথভাবে ও একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের জন্য সৃষ্টি করেছি। আর যারা করে, তাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে তা থেকে তারা বিমুখ।
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to these pagans): "Think you about all that you invoke besides Allah? Show me. What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed before this), or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!"
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ ۖ ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِ هَٰذَا أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
বল, ‘তোমরা আমাকে সংবাদ দাও তোমরা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদেরকে ডাক আমাকে দেখাও তো তারা যমীনে কী সৃষ্টি করেছে? অথবা আসমানসমূহে তাদের কোন অংশীদারিত্ব আছে কি? এর পূর্ববর্তী কোন কিতাব অথবা পরম্পরাগত কোন জ্ঞান তোমরা আমার কাছে নিয়ে এসো, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হও’।
And who is more astray than one who calls on (invokes) besides Allah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?
وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُو مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَائِهِمْ غَافِلُونَ
তার চেয়ে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট আর কে, যে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন কাউকে ডাকে, যে কিয়ামত দিবস পর্যন্তও তার ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না? আর তারা তাদের আহবান সম্পর্কে উদাসীন।
And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping.
وَإِذَا حُشِرَ النَّاسُ كَانُوا لَهُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَكَانُوا بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كَافِرِينَ
আর যখন মানুষকে একত্র করা হবে, তখন এ উপাস্যগুলো তাদের শত্রু হবে এবং তারা তাদের ইবাদাত অস্বীকার করবে।
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say of the truth (this Qur'an) when it reaches them: "This is plain magic!"
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
যখন তাদের কাছে আমার সুস্পষ্ট আয়াতসমূহ তিলাওয়াত করা হয়। তখন যারা করে তাদের নিকট সত্য আসার পর বলে, ‘এটাতো প্রকাশ্য যাদু’।
Or say they: "He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it? still you have no power to support me against Allah. He knows best of what you say among yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur'an)! Sufficient is He as a witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِي مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۖ كَفَىٰ بِهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
তবে কি তারা বলে যে, ‘সে এটা নিজে উদ্ভাবন করেছে’? বল, ‘যদি আমি এটা উদ্ভাবন করে থাকি, তবে তোমরা আমাকে আল্লাহর (আযাব) থেকে বাঁচাতে সামান্য কিছুরও মালিক নও। তোমরা যে বিষয়ে আলোচনায় মত্ত আছ, তিনি সে বিষয়ে সম্যক অবগত। আমার ও তোমাদের মধ্যে সাক্ষী হিসেবে তিনিই যথে
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allah i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا يُفْعَلُ بِي وَلَا بِكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
বল, ‘আমি রাসূলদের মধ্যে নতুন নই। আর আমি জানি না আমার ও তোমাদের ব্যাপারে কী করা হবে। আমার প্রতি যা ওহী করা হয়, আমি কেবল তারই অনুসরণ করি। আর আমি একজন সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী মাত্র’।
Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'an) is from Allah and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel ('Abdullah bin Salam رضي الله عنه) testifies that [this Qur'an is from Allah (like the Taurat (Torah)], and he believed (embraced Islam) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily, Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doers).
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُم بِهِ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّن بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثْلِهِ فَآمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
বল, তোমরা আমাকে জানাও, যদি এ কুরআন আল্লাহর কাছ থেকে এসে থাকে, আর তোমরা এটাকে অস্বীকার করলে, অথচ বনী ইসরাঈলের একজন সাক্ষী এ ব্যাপারে অনুরূপ সাক্ষ্য দিল। অতঃপর সে ঈমান আনল আর তোমরা অহঙ্কার করলে। নিশ্চয় যালিম কওমকে হেদায়াত করেন না।
And those who disbelieve (the strong and wealthy) say of those who believe (the weak and poor): "Had it (Islamic Monotheism to which Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is inviting mankind) been a good thing, they (the weak and poor) would not have preceded us thereto!" And when they have not let themselves be guided by it (this Qur'an), they say: "This is an ancient lie!"
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا بِهِ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
আর যারা করেছে তারা যারা ঈমান এনেছে তাদের সম্পর্কে বলে, ‘যদি এটা ভাল হত তবে তারা আমাদের থেকে অগ্রণী হতে পারত না’। আর যখন তারা এর দ্বারা হেদায়াত প্রাপ্ত হয়নি, তখন তারা অচিরেই বলবে, ‘এটা তো এক পুরাতন মিথ্যা’।
And before this was the Scripture of Musa (Moses) as a guide and a mercy. And this is a confirming Book (the Qur'an) in the Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong, and as glad tidings to the Muhsinun (good-doers. See the footnote of V.9:120).
وَمِن قَبْلِهِ كِتَابُ مُوسَىٰ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَهَٰذَا كِتَابٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
আর এর পূর্বে এসেছিল মূসার কিতাব পথপ্রদর্শক ও রহমতস্বরূপ। আর এটি তার সত্যায়নকারী কিতাব, আরবী ভাষায়; যাতে এটা যালিমদেরকে সতর্ক করতে পারে এবং তা ইনসাফকারীদের জন্য এক সুসংবাদ।
Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is (only) Allah," and thereafter stand firm and straight on the Islamic Faith of Monotheism, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
নিশ্চয় যারা বলে, ‘আমাদের রব ’ অতঃপর অবিচল থাকে, তাদের কোন ভয় নেই এবং তারা চিন্তিতও হবে না।
Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever) - a reward for what they used to do.
أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
তারাই জান্নাতের অধিবাসী, তাতে তারা স্থায়ীভাবে থাকবে, তারা যা আমল করত তার পুরস্কারস্বরূপ।
And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: "My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will)."
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ إِحْسَانًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا ۖ وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
আর আমি মানুষকে তার মাতা-পিতার প্রতি সদয় ব্যবহারের নির্দেশ দিয়েছি। তার মা তাকে অতিকষ্টে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছে এবং অতি কষ্টে তাকে প্রসব করেছে। তার গর্ভধারণ ও দুধপান ছাড়ানোর সময় লাগে ত্রিশ মাস। অবশেষে যখন সে তার শক্তির পূর্ণতায় পৌঁছে এবং চল্লিশ বছরে উপনীত হয়, তখন
They are those from whom We shall accept the best of their deeds and overlook their evil deeds. (They shall be) among the dwellers of Paradise - a promise of truth, which they have been promised.
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ
এরাই, যাদের উৎকৃষ্ট আমলগুলো আমি কবূল করি এবং তাদের মন্দ কাজগুলো ক্ষমা করে দেই। তারা জান্নাতবাসীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। তাদেরকে যে ওয়াদা দেয়া হয়েছে, তা সত্য ওয়াদা।
But he who says to his parents: "Fie upon you both! Do you hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up (again) when generations before me have passed away (without rising)?" While they (father and mother) invoke Allah for help (and rebuke their son): "Woe to you! Believe! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true." But he says: "This is nothing but the tales of the ancient."
وَالَّذِي قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَا أَتَعِدَانِنِي أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِي وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ اللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ آمِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
আর যে ব্যক্তি তার মাতা-পিতাকে বলে, ‘তোমাদের জন্য আফসোস’! তোমরা কি আমাকে এই প্রতিশ্রুতি দাও যে, আমি পুনরুত্থিত হব’ অথচ আমার পূর্বে অনেক প্রজন্ম গত হয়ে গেছে’? আর তারা দু’জন আল্লাহর কাছে ফরিয়াদ করে বলে, ‘দুর্ভোগ তোমার জন্য! তুমি ঈমান আন। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর ওয়াদা
They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinn and mankind that have passed away. Verily, they are ever the losers.
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
তাদের পূর্বে যে জিন ও মানবজাতি গত হয়ে গেছে, তাদের মত এদের প্রতিও আল্লাহর বাণী সত্য হয়েছে। নিশ্চয় এরা ছিল ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।
And for all, there will be degrees according to that which they did, that He (Allah) may recompense them in full for their deeds. And they will not be wronged.
وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
আর সকলের জন্যই তাদের আমল অনুসারে মর্যাদা রয়েছে। আর যেন তাদেরকে তাদের কর্মের পূর্ণ প্রতিফল দিতে পারেন। আর তাদের প্রতি কোন যুলম করা হবে না।
On the Day when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said): "You received your good things in the life of the world, and you took your pleasure therein. Now this Day you shall be recompensed with a torment of humiliation, because you were arrogant in the land without a right, and because you used to rebel against Allah's Command (disobey Allah).
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَاتِكُمْ فِي حَيَاتِكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَاسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَالْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ
আর যেদিন কাফিরদেরকে জাহান্নামের সামনে পেশ করা হবে (তাদেরকে বলা হবে) ‘তোমরা তোমাদের দুনিয়ার জীবনে তোমাদের সুখ সামগ্রীগুলো নিঃশেষ করেছ এবং সেগুলো ভোগ করেছ। তোমরা যেহেতু অন্যায়ভাবে যমীনে অহঙ্কার করতে এবং তোমরা যেহেতু নাফরমানী করতে, সেহেতু তার প্রতিফলস্বরূপ আ
And remember (Hud) the brother of 'Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): "Worship none but Allah; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
۞ وَاذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُ بِالْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
আর স্মরণ কর ‘আ’দ সম্প্রদায়ের ভাইয়ের কথা, যখন সে আহকাফের স্বীয় সম্প্রদায়কে সতর্ক করেছিল। আর এমন সতর্ককারীরা তার পূর্বে এবং তার পরেও গত হয়েছে যে, ‘তোমরা ছাড়া কারো ইবাদাত করো না। নিশ্চয় আমি তোমাদের উপর এক ভয়াবহ দিনের আযাবের আশঙ্কা করছি’।
They said: "Have you come to turn us away from our alihah (gods)? Then bring us that with which you threaten us, if you are one of the truthful!"
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
তারা বলল, ‘তুমি কি আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্যদের থেকে নিবৃত্ত করতে আমাদের নিকট এসেছ? তুমি যদি সত্যবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হও, তাহলে আমাদেরকে যার ভয় দেখাচ্ছ তা নিয়ে এসো’।
He said: "The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only. And I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!"
قَالَ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّا أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَلَٰكِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
সে বলল, ‘এ জ্ঞান একমাত্র আল্লাহর কাছে। আর যা দিয়ে আমাকে পাঠানো হয়েছে, আমি তোমাদের কাছে তা-ই প্রচার করি, কিন্তু আমি দেখছি, তোমরা এক মূর্খ সম্প্রদায়’।
Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened - a wind wherein is a painful torment!
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا ۚ بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ ۖ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
অতঃপর যখন তারা তাদের উপত্যকার দিকে মেঘমালা দেখল তখন তারা বলল, ‘এ মেঘমালা আমাদেরকে বৃষ্টি দেবে’। (হূদ বলল,) বরং এটি তা-ই যা তোমরা ত্বরান্বিত করতে চেয়েছিলে। এ এক ঝড়, যাতে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব রয়েছে’।
Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners)!
تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَىٰ إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
এটা তার রবের নির্দেশে সব কিছু ধ্বংস করে দেবে’। ফলে তারা এমন (ধ্বংস) হয়ে গেল যে, তাদের আবাসস্থল ছাড়া আর কিছুই দেখা যাচ্ছিল না। এভাবেই আমি অপরাধী কওমকে প্রতিফল দিয়ে থাকি।
And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts; but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayat (Allah's Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidence, verses, signs, revelations) of Allah, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِيمَا إِن مَّكَّنَّاكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَارًا وَأَفْئِدَةً فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَا أَفْئِدَتُهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا يَجْحَدُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
আর আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে যাতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছিলাম, তোমাদেরকে তাতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করিনি। আর আমি তাদেরকে কান, চোখ ও হৃদয় দিয়েছিলাম, কিন্তু তারা যখন আমার আয়াতসমূহকে অস্বীকার করত, তখন তাদের কান, তাদের চোখ ও তাদের হৃদয়সমূহ তাদের কোন উপকারে আসেনি। আর তারা যা নিয়ে ঠাট্
And indeed We have destroyed towns (populations) round about you, and We have (repeatedly) shown (them) the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in various ways that they might return (to the truth and believe in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism).
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ الْقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفْنَا الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
আর অবশ্যই আমি তোমাদের পার্শ্ববর্তী জনপদসমূহ ধ্বংস করেছিলাম। আর আমি বিভিন্নভাবে আয়াতসমূহকে বর্ণনা করেছিলাম যাতে তারা ফিরে আসে।
Then why did those whom they had taken for alihah (gods) besides Allah, as a way of approach (to Allah) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).
فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا آلِهَةً ۖ بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
অতঃপর তারা আল্লাহর সান্নিধ্য লাভের জন্য আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদেরকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করেছিল, তারা কেন তাদেরকে সাহায্য করল না? বরং তারা তাদের থেকে হয়ে গেল, আর এটা তাদের মিথ্যাচার এবং তাদের মনগড়া উদ্ভাবন।
And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) a group (three to ten persons) of the jinn, (quietly) listening to the Qur'an. When they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.
وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوا أَنصِتُوا ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوْا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
আর স্মরণ কর, যখন আমি জিনদের একটি দলকে তোমার কাছে ফিরিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম। তারা কুরআন পাঠ শুনছিল। যখন তারা তার কাছে উপস্থিত হল, তখন তারা বলল, ‘চুপ করে শোন। তারপর যখন পাঠ শেষ হল তখন তারা তাদের কওমের কাছে সতর্ককারী হিসেবে ফিরে গেল।
They said: "O our people! Verily, we have heard a Book (this Qur'an) sent down after Musa (Moses), confirming what came before it: it guides to the truth and to the Straight Path (i.e. Islam).
قَالُوا يَا قَوْمَنَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَابًا أُنزِلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
তারা বলল, ‘হে আমাদের কওম, আমরা তো এক কিতাবের বাণী শুনেছি, যা মূসার পরে নাযিল করা হয়েছে। যা পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবকে সত্যায়ন করে আর সত্য ও সরল পথের প্রতি হিদায়াত করে’।
O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allah's Caller (i.e. Allah's Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم has brought from Allah and follow him). He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire)
يَا قَوْمَنَا أَجِيبُوا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَآمِنُوا بِهِ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
‘হে আমাদের কওম, আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর প্রতি সাড়া দাও এবং তার প্রতি ঈমান আন, তোমাদের পাপসমূহ ক্ষমা করবেন। আর তোমাদেরকে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব থেকে রক্ষা করবেন’।
And whosoever does not respond to Allah's Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliya' (lords, helpers, supporters, protectors) for him besides Allah (from Allah's punishment). Those are in manifest error.
وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءُ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
আর যে আল্লাহর দিকে আহবানকারীর ডাকে সাড়া দেবে না সে যমীনে তাকে অপারগকারী নয়। আর ছাড়া তার কোন অভিভাবক নেই। এরাই স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তির মধ্যে রয়েছে।
Do they not see that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and was not wearied by their creation, is Able to give life to the dead? Yes, He surely is Able to do all things.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْيَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىٰ ۚ بَلَىٰ إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
তারা কি দেখে না যে, নিশ্চয় , যিনি আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন আর এগুলোর সৃষ্টিতে তিনি ক্লান্ত হননি, তিনি মৃতদেরকে জীবন দিতে সক্ষম? অবশ্যই হ্যাঁ, নিশ্চয় তিনি সকল কিছুর ওপর ক্ষমতাবান।
And on the Day when those who disbelieve will be exposed to the Fire (it will be said to them): "Is this not the truth?" They will say: "Yes, By our Lord!" He will say: "Then taste the torment, because you used to disbelieve!"
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَلَى النَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِالْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
আর যেদিন কাফিরদেরকে জাহান্নামের কাছে পেশ করা হবে (বলা হবে), ‘এটা কি সত্য নয়’? তারা বলবে, ‘অবশ্যই হ্যাঁ, আমাদের রবের কসম তিনি বলবেন, ‘তাহলে আযাব আস্বাদন কর, যেহেতু তোমরা করছিলে’।
Therefore be patient (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as did the Messengers of strong will and be in no haste about them (disbelievers). On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! this Qur'an is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious against Allah's Command, the disobedient to Allah)?
فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُو الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ ۚ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍ ۚ بَلَاغٌ ۚ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
অতএব তুমি ধৈর্যধারণ কর, যেমন ধৈর্যধারণ করেছিল সুদৃঢ় সংকল্পের অধিকারী রাসূলগণ। আর তাদের জন্য তাড়াহুড়া করো না। তাদেরকে যে বিষয়ে সতর্ক করা হয়েছিল, যেদিন তারা তা প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, মনে হবে তারা পৃথিবীতে এক দিনের কিছু সময় অবস্থান করেছে। সুতরাং এটা এক ঘোষণা, তাই প
